  1. Time zones are an issue with crowds as is searching for the right things. Go to a popular sandbox and it will be full. Pickup places are often packed full. Many people live in their own homes doing thier own thing or aren't socializing also. Use the search function in websearch and type in your interest, use places as category and use the traffic high to low drop down option to find the most popular places.
  2. There is a simple way to make the default avatars look gorgeous, fix lag, and drastically improve your computer graphics rendering of the scenery. Go to the store and buy a cheap bottle of wine or two... When we we first started in 2007 it was almost needed when your avatar was as ugly as the pictures above.
  3. Actually I forgot about TV for years when I discovered Virtual worlds and got addicted to that. I only got interested in it again when I was able to Netflix binge cool shows. LOL the bulk of free to air TV personally I wont watch but it keeps the kids amused.
  4. That/s great. I am glad you like it. It's all good, I appreciate others input and took it as being helpful. I saw femboys weren't that well catered for on the MP so decided to make some. BTW you can tint or texture any face on that pendant if you want including the text. A metal radial gradient off google will give you another type of necklace too if you want.
  5. Did you grab a no mod demo? If you did you may not see the chain has a long 0.001 mm prim in the centre of it as part of the chain that makes the chain bounding box bigger and allows you to do that if you edit the chain alone. I'll have to check that one and make sure it has the right chain in. I did make it so you can bend it in a high arch and position the pendant over your clothes. Personally I prefer to fit the chain by itself as all together doing it, it distorts the pendant.
  6. Nah, there's no ads, pointless memes, profile pics containg your kids or photos of your dinner or cake you made here..
  7. In SL I get called sweetie, hun and other nice things and find it much friendlier and people tend to take less offense at things. An attitude of wanting to help each other seems to be prevalent as well also. SM seems to me all about getting your point across and being right so often and I cant be bothered with that so I favour spending spare time in SL.
  8. One of my old ventures from years ago with my alt is full perm sculpty and mesh basic builder packs and gee they have to have basic instructions step by step. Mesh is pretty straightforward but sculpts were a nightmare and I ended up having to give building lessons for the cost of a cheapo pack just to keep people happy. Someone had a whinge in a inworld PM first which I appreciate a couple of weeks ago as one of the packs seemed to have changed and one item went missing out of 24. I just refunded them their money even before they asked and pulled the product offline for a while they forget about leaving a bad review in the heat of the moment and I'll fix it later if I even bother at all. Even my jewelry these days I sell non rigged so people can copy it, retexture it and make heaps of different styles themselves with basic building skills but supply a demo even for a cheap item and explain it well in the ad just so there is no drama. i find it best to assume customers are not technically minded or can build in SL. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Femboy-Subtle-Afinity/11572173 <- Is an experiment to see how many get sold...
  9. Which do you prefer and have you noticed a difference in the way people communicate or its friendliness between the two?
  10. RL Working and trying to learn to fly a cheapo first new drone and not wreck it. In SL dream up a new building project and have a chat.
  11. 2015 27" 5K iMac . Its not exciting but sure good for making things and SL. I was making my new forum profile pic there and saw this thread.
  12. The only thing I wouldn't mind seeing the last of is the naked system Avi with free attachments. Would I pay to not see that? Where do I sign up..
  13. Building, trying to dream up something new somebody could use.
  14. I just saw this and thought I might add my 2 bits. I have been a BIG fan of Catwa for ages now and bought both the original Jessica and Catya Bento heads which I think are great. The thing I didn't like about the Catya one is the way the jaw is weird with a normal shape and you have to redo it all or use the supplied shape. Other than that I am happy with both but Jessica is a little dated now. Looking for a change I went to LeLutka and boy they have a range of nice Bento heads there. I gave into temptation which wasn't hard and bought a new Bianca head and skin applier. Being an avid Catwa fan I had reservations about it later but then I saw it came with mesh eyes that are tinted in the head HUD as well as plethora of expression animations and moods built into the HUD as well. I forked out for all three heads about the same price but the eyes and extra animations were extra at Catwa so I never bought any. Also the Lelukta comes with a lot of makeup extras I am very happy with and am definitely a convert. I paid about the same for all three heads but defiantly think the Bianca one is better value for money and probably looks too. The Skin applier is Belleza Erin and beauty spots and freckles Afinity Ashley which comes with a cheeky kiss also lol.
  15. you can use this its really good and can be any colour. They work with any head https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Customeyes-Unlimited-Customization-Mesh-Eyes/3530274
  16. Hi I am an Aussie looking to meet others in our time zone. I am on fairly regularly and sometimes in the day. I'm preatty easy to get along with. Cheers! --||-
  17. I have been in here for years too and it seems the same deal for me. I make friends and they leave SL or switch to alts. The worst is they rush into relationships and partner up then a couple of months later if it goes wrong they get depressed and leave sometimes. You end up with a hundreds of names on your friends and only a handful of regulars. Look me up.
  18. I left SL about the same time as you did in 2010 out of excess use via addiction I had an issue with and needed a break. I only decided to get back into it more over the last 6-8 months and faced the same decision as you with buying mesh. One thing I never liked about the standard body is how low resolution the pictures that make the skins are. They were fine in 2004 on a VGA screen but most monitors are HD now and mesh accommodates high res images so things like little freckles and shadings look nice. As well as that the mesh itself is smoother and the hud will let you tint the whole body skin for a different colour. When I first got back in I was undecided at first but bought the Belleza body after a month because I liked their skins from before and it matched my existing skins. My Avi has the Belleza body and Catwa head (from recommendations) and the menus on those are all in one and not too complicated once you get through the lurning curve. They both have some other advantages regarding using 3rd party textures as well as I can make tatt and clothing layers easy with the body and things like blush or a beauty spot in the head with little thinking in my part with the supplied dev kits. In the past when I have bought quality SL merchandise that lasts for years it works out cheap entertainment especially when spread over many years of use. After having mesh and its convenience it's hard to go back. I have to admit it generated a new interest in the game for me having some new toys inworld. BTW the Laqroki heads look really pretty too and might be worth a look at and asking owners about the hud ease of use. As far as a nice Avi it depends on your standards and tastes and you can still make a nice one from the standard non mesh things. Actually I still use non mesh hair quite often and bought some last week.
  19. Over the years I have met players who get jobs working in clubs with the sole purpose of finding people to TP to the club. The bit thing makes sense too. Lucky I never get those anymore for some reason.

  21. One thing you might want to consider since your taking it all seriously is learning how to use Photoshop or Gimp sometime as you will use them lots to make things.
  22. Maybe it's because women's minds are wired up for communication, companionship and shopping. Most guys minds are wired up for being solitary creatures not interested in appearances or talking much. They do like the sex part but probably get bored after a while of pixel sex. That leaves building stuff and lots do that or leave out of boredom. I don't know many guys who continue in SL that identify as totally gay either though experimental bisexuality is common. Edit maybe more men would hang around if they weren't ignored when they say hi because of the stereotyping that all of them just want sex and that's why they are saying hi.
