  1. I actually don't use these at harmful volume levels (30 to 40% is the highest I go). And of all the types of earbuds, the ones that go next to the eardrums are the least harmful because I don't need to turn them up that much. I actually don't care what kind you recommend, as long as they fit the criteria.
  2. I could use some headset recommendations, as I got this one for Christmas and its very fickle with Windows 10: http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-headphones-COULAX-Sweatproof-Smartphone/dp/B011HZW6DK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1450115228&sr=8-4&keywords=bluetooth+headset I'm looking for one that will work with both iPhone 5 and Windows 10. Its key that the headset has both clear sound quality and call quality and will stay on no matter what. It also has to be sweat proof.
  3. I will probably get to 500 W then if I go with this set up. I'm also considering a similar computer that has the R7 360 2gb gpu. Is it good? Here's what I got when I compared the two cards: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R7-360-vs-GeForce-GTX-750-Ti#differences I'm not sure what that means.
  4. Is now a good time of year to get them? I'm thinking about pairing this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014QVM2KO Intel i5-6400 [2.7-3.3 GHz], 8GB of Ram and 1 TB. And this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KHUE0MC Nvidia GTX 750 2 GB With this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H33SDR4 EVGA 430 Watt power supply. Any thoughts? Anyone with similar rigs want to comment? I'm looking to save money here, but I would appreciate imput from someone more technologically knowledgeable than me. I'm also weighing the A10-6800k or 7700 vs the i5 [4th or 6th gen].
  5. I'm going to be moving out at the end of the month after my lease expires. I'm looking for land/house to rent where I can change the music stream. I would like to live in a community, as this is what I am accustomed to [I happen to like the feeling of being a part of something]. My budget is 500L per week, though I may go up a 100L if I really like it. I would like a community where I can at least wander around naked [Nothing sexual in nature]. This is not an absolute requirement. I'm also not human 90% of the time, so furry/non-human friendly would be a plus. I'm not looking for any particular theme, except I'm not into BDSM or Gorean. I DO NOT LIKE SKYBOXES. Any suggestions would be welcome.
  6. I want one too. My RL Dad was very fond of turtles and tortoises before he died.
  7. I mean something I can wear anytime, anywhere.
  8. I am looking for a mesh horse or other attachable mount. I love mounts with fluid/realistic movement and gorgeous details [I like realistic as well as fantasy, but for what I have in mind, it can't be too big]. I can pay up to 3k, but no more. I have tried KoT [Yes, I know what that means in German] stables, but as a mostly nonhuman, their beautiful mount really messed up my avatar. So help please?
  9. A friend of mine is currently facing some problems due to, among other things, someone spreading the names of their alts around. I would like to know what the LL policy is on this.
  10. I agree with the other posters. Depending on how much business [Do you run a shop/brand?] you do in SL, I would actually create a new account and lay low for a while. If you miss your old friends, tell them what your new account is, and be explicit in telling them to not tell your ex. I think its a little funny this guy just can't let you go, but at the same time, very serious.
  11. Do what she said and I wish you the best of luck! I had to deal with a stalker-type last summer, but it wasn't nearly as bad as your situation. Muting him repeatedly worked.
  12. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CSJITZO/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3D0BSKPH287PR&coliid=I3VFUHP86WD4TM So this is what I have my eye on right now. Its reasonably priced. I did have some concerns about the PSU... according to reviews its got a 600 watt PSU. Is that enough for what it has in there already or do I need to look elsewhere? To top it off, I'm not even sure if its got a wifi card [i'm not sure what you call that] in it already.
  13. That's true! I've very often thought about building my own computer, from barebones kits. But I don't even know where to begin. I've never done it before.
  14. I've been looking into getting a desktop to replace my laptop for SL/Everyday/Sims 3 use. I'm in no particular hurry, so if there's a good time of year to get a new computer, please tell me. My budget is 600-900 USD and that's to include the monitor. I already have a fairly good wireless keyboard/mouse. I'm thinking the following build: 8GB RAM Intel i5 4th Gen Processor 1GB GPU [Whichever is pretty good in that price range] Windows 8.1 [Apple is out of my reach and I'm unfamiliar with other OSes and I'm not a techie] The RAM for both the GPU and motherboard I might go up on. It depends on what I can find that will fit the budget. I would generally like to be able to have someone [or learn to do it myself] upgrade the parts as necessary. I like Hewlett Packard, but if there's a better company out there, I am open to suggestions. And I live in the USA.
  15. I'll back you up on that CPU suggestion. I bought a new laptop a while back and cringed at getting i3... i5 is pretty good, maybe not as good as i7, but still pretty good in its own right.
  16. http://www.hp.com - They have a wide range of customizable laptops. I'd choose something from their high performance category.
  17. That's actually pretty good. I'd go for 8 GB of RAM if you can, considering how resource intensive SL can be. Just bear in mind that a secondary GPU like what I have is better overall for SL than an integrated one.
  18. Some things, like boots over ankle length, I HAVE to have in mesh. Same goes for quadreped avatars. Everything else... It depends on whether I like it or not.
  19. I used to use integrated graphics... But now I use graphics with their own RAM and have never looked back! SL now runs on high quality without a hitch [my wifi is a different issue however]! The quality is so much more noticable, not to mention your games will thank you! I have an HP Envy DV6 customized laptop with the Nividia 630m 1GB video card. If you like the HP, you can have a customized laptop for roughly the same price.
  20. Its about 6-8 feet away in the same room, on top of a bookcase and as unobstructed as possible. Thanks everyone for your responses!
  21. The outlet for my cable modem is very awkwardly placed, making it nigh impossible for me to set up a wired connection, plus I do access the wifi on my iPhone. My system specs are as follows: HP Envy Dv6 laptop Windows 8.1 8 GB RAM 1 GB Nvidia 630M video card [There's also an integrated Intel one but I don't touch that with a ten foot pole] Intel i5 2450 I know its not the best, but its the best I could afford at the time. I ran speedtest from where I live in Southern California to Phoenix Arizona. The results are as of this posting: 49ms Ping, 15.25 MBpS download and upload of 1.08 MBpS.
  22. @Storm Calm down. It was only a simple question. I am no techie and this is my first time living in an apartment complex with so many wifi networks grouped up. I understand you may be frustrated with me and I apologize. I've used a simple program to tell me what channel my neighbors are on. I then picked the less populated channel [in this case, 11] based on what I saw. I'm not entirely sure what QoS is, so I'll look into it before considering that. Oh and I will be checking out my packet loss, particularly if I'm experience bad lag spikes.
  23. Okay another question. In this situation, would a wifi booster help?
