  1. So I've been trying to set up and Opensim region following the official guide at http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Configuration

But I have a few problems...

So for it'sa been good, but when I get to the lines for Estate owners:

    "Master Avatar first name"

    and

    "Master Avatar first name"

I can't use anything other than the defaults. or get an error reading:

"[OPENSIM]: Unable to store account. If the simulator is connected to a grid, you must create the estate owner account first at grid level."

I'm sort of trying to just beta test to see what happens and I'm using the standalone mode on my local network.

My second problem is, if I use the default username (Test), then the console continues its setup and then rushes into a few lines of red error messages before the console quickly closes. I'm not able to read any of it and have yet to find any logs stored, not that I know really where to look for them.

The troubleshooting doesn't seem to mention the first issue at initial glance, and the second issue I can't really look up without getting that error log to find out what happened.

Does anyone know of any thoughts or suggestions I could use?

  2. So I had a thought today to try and make a snapshot of my avi seem more lifelike. I did find one topic that could help cover this ( http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Texturing/SecondLife-photos-make-it-look-4D/td-p/232897 ), however, I can't use photoshop to save my life (nor can I afford it). I use the program GIMP instead. I did find some online tutorials that gave my snapshot better quality and was very nice to look at, but not really realistic like they linked topic had. What they suggested in the linked topic is Photoshop's "Liquify" tool. GIMP does not have this. I looked it up and the apparent tool that gimp has that is like Photoshop's "Liquify" tool is a filter called "iWarp" I've spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out just how it's supposed to create the same effect to no avail and I can't find anything to help me out.

My question is, is there anything or any form of tutorial for GIMP users that can give me a similar effect to what Photoshop has done?

^^^^^^That's the picture in question that Photoshop has edited.

  3. First time posting here so forgive me if I'm in the wrong spot. I'm making some sculpted items to sell, some have several 'states', using different sculpt maps. I need a script that will allow to change the sculpt maps on the prim via menu but I don't really know how to make Scripts from scratch or what keys to use. I'm really only good with modifying existing scripts, mainly particle engines. If someone can point me to a few tutorials to get what I need or even post the scrip itself, that would be great ^.^
