  1. Oh dear! Do you know how long this will be going on? And will we get any compensation as a result of this?
  2. Hi there. It has been a while since I've posted anything here. Usually, I don't unless I somehow can't access LL's Live-Chat feature. This is one of those cases...Anyway, I cannot seem to log into my account on either the third party viewer I use (Catznip) or the regular SL Viewer. Are there unexpected rolling restarts going on? I was playing just fine until roughly 15 minutes ago. But when I try to log in, I get an error with a link suggesting I access the Grid Status page? But I'm not seeing any indication of any restarts going on right now. So are there or is it another issue on my end?
  3. Hi there, people! It's me once again. If there's one thing I learned in all the time I've been part of Second Life it was you can't have to many friends...Or pets or breedables for this matter. XD! Now I'm not sure if this is the proper place to make this kind of request, however, I would love to make more friends who'd be willing to talk to me at least once week or so. I'd also like to have a partnership where my partner is willing to have children with me. I am quite fond of Lyuboff Babies and I have a house and land big enough to have a nice family. The house is fully furnished and also Life 1 compatible. :manhappy: If anyone is interested in this prospect, feel free to ad me or send me an IM or note-card in-world...Cheers! :manlol:
  4. Hi there! Or should I say: Good evening! First of all, what does FUBAR'd mean? Secondly, I would actually prefer if a product I am browsing to buy for has a demo for free (0 Linden cost) in case I wanna 'try before I buy'. Lots of products have demos, but unfortunately, not all of them do. Third of all, in regards to removing demos from the search results, why not have an option to remove 0-Linden cost items from the results or items which don't have a price tag? This would make searching or items just a little easier. I hope I didn't ruin anybody's holiday mood by ranting about SL Marketplace the way I did earlier...:mansurprised:
  5. Hello everyone! I'm not normally one to complain about features of Second Life, however, tonight, I have a MAJOR beef concerning the review system requirements of the Second Life Marketplace... I bought several products for my aspiring farmer girl younger sister to use for her farm. The good news for her-She was able to use most of the products/Christmas gifts I bought for her. The bad (And I mean REALLY bad) news...I am unable to post reviews for ANY of the products I bought for her. The biggest kicker of them all-She's not able to post a review for said products either!! WTF!!?? Why is there such a big (And pathetic!!) flaw in the review system!? I wanted to provide some feedback to the creators of those products I bought for my sister. Yet neither she nor I can do so!! This is real serious bull**bleep** if you ask me. Anyway, this is just my opinion. Other people's opinions may (And probably WILL) differ from the opinions of me and my sister, who can't praise the quality of the gifts I got for her tonight. :matte-motes-angry:
  6. Hi there, Amethyst! You're absolutely right. With so many great ideas from so many people, I can hardly go wrong here. In fact, I've already started some preliminary stages of planning this party. Gifts are definitely a must and I definitely creeate some invitations via notecard. Yes, I own the parcel I live on, even though it's not a full sim. It's 1/8th in fact. However, it's a pretty good size...At least I hope. Anyway, as for music, I have a Christmas tree which can cover this. I also have at least a few food items I can hand out for my guests. As for games, I don't really have any just yet. Although I do have a couple working musical instruments my guests could play if they feel inclined to do so. Is this a good start?
  7. Hi, Henry! The hardest part of any event in Second Life is getting people to come to it! Here are some ways to advertise your party... Write a notecard. Attach the landmark. Send the note to all your friends. Pass the note to everyone you meet between now and the party date. Invite them! Make a texture with the party information on it. Apply the texture to a prim, add a "giver" script and a landmark. Then send the invitation prim to all your friends. If you belong to a group that will allow it, place a copy of your party invitation prim on the group's land for people to read and click. Put one in front of your castle too, so your guests and visitors will see it. Advertise your party in group chat, if the group allows it. For example, many events in Caledon are announced by residents of Caledon in the ISC group chat. If the group allows you to post notices, you can do that too...notices are more persistent than chat, and people can go back and find it for (I think) 30 days. If the party is open to all comers, create an Event on the Second Life web page, in Community/Events. If you're a blogger, and SL residents read your blog, announce it there. Now another question to ask yourself: WHY would anyone want to come to my party? You should offer something unique and fun. Of course, you can hire a DJ, especially if you have room for a dance floor and have a dance machine. Or a live performer. If you hire someone who is popular and has their own "following" they may be able to help fill out your party crowd. Or you could offer games, or a scavenger hunt, or simply "Presents for EVERYBODY!!!!" Maybe you want a theme for your party. Holiday and Winter themes are appropriate, of course, but maybe you can come up with a twist to make YOUR party stand out. Nightmare Before Christmas? Winter SLOlympics? Wow! So many great ideas and suggestions! I feel so free to select which ones I can best make use of. This is a wonderful answer...Thanks for this, Lindal Kidd!
  8. Hello again, everyone! After the success of my previous question (How is a house a castle?) I've decided I'd like to post another one. So here it is...I am planning to decorate my home for the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve). I'd very much like to have some company at my large but humble home or castle. Therefore, I am thinking of hosting a Christmas party there in the hopes of spreading the holiday cheers. What is the best way to do this? Any and all helpful steps to my plan would be very much appreciated and accepted.
  9. Hi everyone! It's been a long time, huh? Not long ago, I invited a young lady to visit my house. But when she saw it, she seemed at least a little surprised and said my house was a castle. Now I'm confused. I've heard of houses being referred to as castles before but...What did she mean by this? How can my house be a castle? Any good answers for this would be helpful...Cheers! Edit: Rolig, you are super awesome! I am going to select your answer as the solution to my question. I am a HUGE history buff and reading this gives me much nostalgia and awesomeness...Cheers!
  10. Hello everyone! I don't normally post complaints about stuff on here, but I wanted to bring this to everyone's attention...The review section of the Marketplace cannot be used unless a product was purchased ON the Marketplace itself. If a person purchases the same product in-world, he or she can't write a review for it, even if they wanted to! But why is it required to purchase a product at all before posting a review about it? I feel it's not necessary. Any thoughts and observations on this are more than welcome...Cheers!
  11. Hello everybody. On a parcitular sim, I've been hearing lots of animal sounds coming from the trees the owner set out. A few of these animal sounds are quite interesting. I love doing animal research and I would be very appreicative of this. Whoever can help me is best to contact me in-world and should be adept at identifying animal species (Mostly birds) by the sounds and calls they make. I'll gladly give kudos to whoever can help me identify two birds in-world. I will TP or give the landmark to each animal sound effect over to whoever contacts me in-world. I hope this question is okay...Cheers! Note: I have already Pressed Ctrl, Shift, Alt, N and activated beacons. I also edited the tree in question and found the sound only says 'winter bird' instead of a specific breed or species. What I need is an interpreter who can help me identify the animal species according to the sound it's making.

This parcel is just one region south of a small protected waterfront with lighthouse.
  14. Hello everybody! It's been a while since I posted any questions in this forum, but here goes... I am looking for some good roads to drive my vehicles on (Mainly mypick-up truck). I will need a place to rez it so I can get in and start driving...Preferrably down a road which does not lead into the ocean...XD! Does anybody have a list of road rez locations for me to use? Thanks in advance!
  15. Hello, Griefer Sandra! I've never known a griefer to be helpful before. As for my problem, I am not sure I will be able to remember all the names of the sims I gpo to, but Dead End and the two sims on either side of it is one of them. Another one is one of those default home locations which your character teleports to if they do not have a home location or if their current home location is unavailable. I've been to other active role play sims (Like Cadair Braden or however you spell it and Syn City). The welcome areas for those regions is fine, but once I enter the role play area, the lag tends to spike. And unfortunately, lowering my graphical settings does little to nothing to get rid of the lag. And unlike you, I do not have a high-end computer. It's not bad and quite good actually. But I am certain it is not high-end. I am just wondering if I am the only person who is having this random lagging problem. I am certain I am not but I am naturally curious.
  16. Dora, I am glad you got your bed fixed, but maybe you have your profile set so only friends and groups can IM you. I have come to the conclusion adding somebody as a friend counts as an IM so try changing this to allow anybody to IM you. This might help solve your little friendship accepting problem.
  17. I have about 3.5 GB of usable RAM and I am not having as hard of a time as you are, OP. Are you by any chance in a heavily populated area or an area designated for active role play?
  18. Hi people! I've been thinking about something I've been wanting to ask about for some time now...The seemingly random amount of lag in certain areas of Second Life. Now don't get me wrong! Second Life is a great game, though it has a few annoying glitches which could be fixed by Linden Labs if they bothered to listen to their players more often. And yes, I realize I could be posting this to a Linden Lab Employee, but I wanted to get the opinions of players about some of the regions in Second Life which lag worse than others. Now...If this thread is not appropriate for this area of the forums, then I will gladly allow a Linden Lab Employee to move it to a more appropriate location. I would not be happy if the thread was locked, but I understand how this can happen sometimes. So onto my point, which is...The amount of lag in certain areas of Second Life (Such as Dead End and other zones designed for active role-play and some of the more crowded regions) is very high and as a result, I am usually forced to lower my graphical settings to avoid crashing or lagging while I explore these areas. And my question about this apparent random lag is...Why is the lag heavier in certain regions and in other places, not so much? Any form of discussion as long as it doesn't result in a flame war is welcome. :manvery-happy:
  19. May I ask exactly what Sim you're going to which causes this to happen?
  20. Well hello again, people! I had come across a Pokemon-themed Sim and Group and now, I am wondering if there is a similar group and/or Sim for being able to play 'Ninja' and to be able to dress up like the characters on the show Naruto. Are there any Sims or Groups where this kind of content can be found? Any answers on this are appreciated.
  21. Hi there, people! Halloween is coming and I've decorated my house for this holiday. Now my next question is...How do I host an event where people will notice and come? It won't be a huge event, but it'll be something worth coming to see...I hope.
  22. Hi, hi, people! S'me again! I'm looking for a list of groups where you can find a potential partner to have an 'kintimate encounter' with. Any tips, advice, or group listings on this topic would be appreciated. Apologies if this does not belong here, but I have no idea where else to go to ask a question like this. Anyway, cheers!
  23. Hi again people! I want to know about the highest elevated piece of land currently on Second Life. Is it a mountain? A building? I am looking for something which is on Mainland or is PART of the Mainland. I am NOT looking for a Skybox because those do not sit on the ground but rather up in the sky on their own. And where is it located?
