  12. Hello Everyone! Welcome to the new Announcements section of the forums! We will be using this space to share announcements and information pertaining to the forums. Over the years our forums have gone through many changes, and today we have some more to share with you. We’ve been taking a good, long look at our forums structure, guidelines and how our Residents use this space, and have come up with a few changes that we will be putting in place today. We’ve added some clarity to the sections, and developed guidelines which should enhance everyone's participation. We hope these new guidelines will help provide a more structured forum environment where conversations about Second Life can continue to flourish, and where members old and new alike will feel comfortable and safe in participating. We’ve also made changes to the forum structure and cleaned up some areas that have gotten a little dusty. Reorganizing the Land forum will make it easier to find and post about that awesome parcel/region you are selling/buying. A brand new Roleplay category is now available to post Roleplay groups or regions that are free to join. We also wanted to try and help Residents understand what type of topics belong in each category of the forum. You will now find that in the pinned section of each category is a brief post with some basic guidelines for what is, and is not allowed in that section. We love seeing the discussions about Second Life that take place here on our forum, and we hope that everyone continues to enjoy them as much as we do.
  13. We have thus far allowed this thread to continue to exist, because it has for the most part, been a fun thread to participate in. However, we have had to once again come in and clean up posts, this time discussing the closure of other threads, starting to border on the topics we have already closed. If we have to clean up posts again in this thread, it is going to be closed.
  14. Hey Everyone, We understand this is a topic that everyone is passionate about from one side to the other. Unfortunately there are already multiple posts that cross the line from having an open discussion, to being agressive and over the line in some fashion, not to mention that some of the inappropriate posts are a carry over from another thread in which we have already taken action. At this time we are going to lock the thread
  15. Hey Everyone, There has been some good discussions, lots of feedback, and some people that seem like their record player might be broken in a few of their posts. We do appreciate feedback, and while I hate to do this, we have had to come in and clean up this thread now on multiple occassions, which unfortunately means its time to bring it to a close. I think given the large amount of replies, many folks at this point have had ample opportunity to provide their feedback, but if not I want to encourage you to share it with our Support Teams, assuming it is constructive feedback, or if you have questions regarding Premium Plus, our Support teams are ready to assist with those as well.
  16. Hey All, This thread seems to be spiraling quite a bit. I do know that we have another thread also discussing premium plus, and so I am going to go ahead and lock this one down. You are welcome to discuss premium plus in the other thread, but I would encouarge you to keep it to the topic, and keep it appropriate. Disagreeing with things is okay, but there is a right and a wrong way to discuss those disagreements.
  17. There was a lot said in just these short two pages, and I just wanted to jump in and take a moment to try and add some clarity from the side of our Governance team. First and foremost, I am sorry that you are upset over the return of your bowling alley, I understand that it is never a good feeling to see your hard work returned like that. In these scenarios my team always sends a message letting the person know what is going on, which does open the opportunity for a dialogue if the other person chooses to do so. That being said we have always been very up front in saying that Residents need to follow the covenant for Bellisseria, and we try to make it as clear as possible for everyone, to the point that you even stated that you knew there would be the possibility of the bowling alley being returned, and you decided to take the risk anyways. I think it would have been more beneficial for everyone involved, if a dialogue was started first, I am sure Abnor would have been happy to discuss as I have seen him do so a few times now. The Moles do their very best to respond to inquiries as Resident's work on their homes, asking for opinions on items that may or may not fall within the theme of the area, or the covenant. Now I have seen concerns raised in this thread, as well as a few others now, that enforcement of items that might be potentially violating the covenant or theme are not being equally enforced and I would just like to point out that the Governance team does the best they can with that. There is only so many of them, 10 to be exact. So while we do our best to try and review as much content in Second Life as we can proactively, the reality is Second Life is still a huge world, and we need to rely on our Residents to help point us in the direction of something that might need our attention as well. All that being said, it is never our intention to punish someone, but we are in the position of having to do our humanly best to balance out the needs of many, and unfortunately that also means that some times, people are going to be unhappy. My hope, is that while my team takes their actions into consideration, that our Resident's also take into consideration the ultimate goal behind our actions, and that is to do our best to provide an enjoyable experience for as many people and communities as possible.
  18. Hello Everyone, As a reminder, we would like to encourage everyone to be mindful of links that they are clicking. If you decide to donate, always double check the organization, and the link in which you are doing it through. If this thread goes off the rails though, I will come back and close it, just as a heads up.
  19. Yes, at this time the user group has ended. I am exploring other options to better share useful information with all of you.
  20. At this time there is no scheduled user groups for Governance, the majority of questions asked at the user group meetings are questions that we are just not going to be able to answer. Such as information regarding action taken, DMCA, or other Resident specific information that we will not discuss due to privacy policy, or it being outside the scope of the Governance team. However myself, and others will always remain available to answer questions in how to file Abuse Reports, and you don't have to wait for a meeting to do that, you can message me your question and the next time I log in, I will always respond. If you wish to bring a specific incident of abuse to our attention however, as always the answer will be to file an Abuse Report.
  21. As you already know Adam, since we have discussed it quite a bit, but for the sake of clarifying it for others, you can always message me if you have a question about how to file an Abuse Report. There is also an older, but well written blog done by Inara Prey where we discussed in depth on how to properly file an Abuse Report: https://modemworld.me/2017/03/24/raising-abuse-reports-in-second-life/ as well as our own page as well for anyone who might be unsure about how to file one, or what sort of information to include. However please keep in mind, that what we are not able to discuss specific reports, the outcome of them, what our investigation found, etc.
  22. Hey there, I am sure it comes as no surprise that I have shown up here in this thread. Unfortunately it has gotten out of hand, and we seem to be forgetting that we really need to be playing nice with one another, and if we can't do that, then I strongly encourage that you ignore each other. I am going to be closing off this thread at this point, to avoid any further issues in it, however before I do so, I also want to address the OPs concerns. I understand asking about our policy documentation update, and I want to assure you that is in the works. We will have a new policy page posted on our wiki and just like our other policies, you will be able to locate it here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Official_Information_and_Policies_Portal
  23. Hey guys, I think the discussion on the taxation of linden dollars is getting a bit derailing. Let's get this train back on the rails in this thread, thanks!
  24. Hey everyone, I had hoped that it would not come to this, we want to continue to encourge a healthy discussion around this matter, and twice now the conversation has resulted in the thread being locked. At this point, I would like to remind everyone, that if you can not be civil with one another, we will unfortunately have to temporarily suspend Residents accounts. This is not something we want to do, but we have spent all morning now sending out warnings to those who can not play nice. I hope going forward from here, the conversation continues to be healthy, and productive.
  25. Hello! I want to assure everyone we did not intend to remove member titles, and I do see that some member titles have been messed up. This should all be corrected now and I have implemented the work around on having the titles in there in some fashion. The recent update made some changes, and we are working on implementing other fun stuff for the forums as well.
