  1. Hi Fenix, Thanks very much for the advise. I have a reasonable >8,000 sqm plot of mainland and most if not all of my neighbours have skyboxes themselves or huge monstrocities on their land. I may try and build a panorama surface around the outline of the plot to see if it is big enough. After that I can decide whether to do it in the sky or not. I don't have a lot of experience buildin, so will see how it goes.
  2. Hi all, Who can explain to me how to make a panorama background? I want to build a house that's situated on a hill overlooking Los Angeles (inspired by the Bosch TV series). What do I have: 1) A plot of mainland 2) I have a panorama photo of LA 3) the house How do I construct the background? And should I build it at ground level or on a platform in the sky? Any tip or assistance welcomed! Thanks --Hiro
  3. Have a look at a gaming laptop like the Dell Alienware 13. It has a powerful graphics card and fast processor. It is not as compact as a business laptop, and quite heavy, because all this power that you need for Ultra settings requires goo component and a lot of cooling. One of the many reviews: http://ie.ign.com/articles/2017/06/06/alienware-13-gaming-laptop-review
  4. I have an ATI 6950 card and I installed the latest drivers which come with improved OpenGL support which is important for SL. Overall I think the card works very well and SL is fast and very smooth. So I think it is a very solid card, especially for the price. However, somehow I had expected more. I thought SL would have recommend me the Ultra setting and that I would now get a far better picture quality. That didn't happen. What I would like to know is whether an ATI card with the new drivers is similar or still lagging a good Nvidia card in terms of SL performance (OpenGL).
  5. This topic has been discussed often but I still have a question. I have a fairly beefy self-build PC (Intel Core i7 2700K, 8Gb RAM, SSD etc) with an AMD 6950 graphics card (2Gb memory). I installed the latest AMD drivers who are supposed to have improved OpenGL support. SL is running okay but I had expected more somehow. Ultra is still not advised setting for example. My question is whether someone knows whether an AMD graphic card with these new drivers is comparable in SL performance with an Nvidia card, or whether an Nvidia card is still better? Does somebody have experience? Thanks!
