  1. Rollback to the older driver that worked. Or have you tried third party viewers like Firestorm? They offer much better stability.
  2. This isn't RL. But to humor you, when I apply for a job, or go to a job interview I at least know what my job will entail. I will know exactly what I will do. That's why I applied to the job in the first place. Only a desperate person would apply/go to an interview without having a single clue what the job is even about....which is exactly the problem here. You tell us nothing about what the job will be about. Content creators are busy folks, we don't have time to go on a great heist to find information about a project we may or may not be interested in joining we'd rather work on our products. Most of us have a RL job alongside being a creator in SL. Do you think most of us have the time to go on a info hunt just to figure out whether we are interested or not? Simply putting down: "This is who we are, this is what we do, this is what you will do." Goes a long way in not only getting people's interest but to also reach out to them. Right now you're basically throwing some vague job at us and go all 'have at it. Do your research, you'll probably waste your time because we can't bebothered to simply jot down a few lines to tell you right away'. That is unwelcoming to boot. Is that really how you want to portray your team? Will this be the work ethic? Being vague instead of up front? Rhetorical questions. I had a honest interest in this, no longer though. Toodles.
  3. Your questions really are too general to give specific answers to. Are you talking about actually purchasing a parcel and paying rent directly to LL? Then the above posted pricing link applies for the monthly tier. In addition it really depends what sort of parcel you want to buy. Parcels that no one really wants go for 1L per sqm or less. Roadside, waterside and even seaside parcels (where you can sail) can have exorbitant prices. Simply open up the world map, all yellow fields are parcels for sale. Clicking on the $ on that parcel shows you its size and price. Or are you talking about renting a mainland parcel from a third party? In this case it can be anywhere from 1L per prim to 1.5L per prim. Most often it settles at about 1.2L per prim. Just google mainland rentals, or use the in world search (land rental button).
  4. Please stop posting this all over the place, really, once is enough. 5. The same answer I gave you in the answer section applies. The fact that you removed the landlords name tells me you read my post. Nobody can and will give you a different answer, there's simply no way of recourse you can take. You rent from 3rd parties at your own risk. ------ That's horrible I'm really sorry that happened to you, however, there is nothing you can do about what that landlord did. It's classes a resident to resident dispute, which SL doesn't get involved in. What most people suggest to business owners is to /own/ a mainland parcel. It's not as cool and pretty as a private estate parcel but since you own it, things like this can't happen. Of course that won't help you right now, I'm afraid. Rebuild your shop, buy from a trusted landlord that won't sell the plot out of under you (Lionheart Commercial Sims come to mind) or be your own landlord and purchase a mainland plot that you own. Also, before you yourself get into trouble, remove the landlords name from your post as that is against the community guidelines.

  7. I am not going to answer all these questions and waste my time for a job I am not even sure I actually want to have. And how on earth would /anyone/ be able to honestly answer the question of why they want to work for you? Sorry, this is far too vague, and even though I make my own textures and now make poses and soon to be entire animations, I can't say I'm interested. This seems very dubious. If you can't be upfront about what this is all about then what do you have to hide? Good luck finding creators though.
  8. Go to your land and open the about land menu under the General Tab there's a "Abandon Land" button. There you go, once abandoned you can degrade your account back to basic.
  9. Re-activating a canceled account If you have cancelled your account, you may be able to restore it, depending on how long ago it was cancelled. There is a US$9.95 reactivation fee for restoring an account. Warning: Even if your account is restored, the associated inventory, land, and Linden dollar balance may be unrecoverable. To start the process: Open a support case. Under What type of problem are you having? choose Account Issue. Choose Reactivate an old account. Enter the required information Click Submit. Apparently there's no set amount of days. Either way you'll have to pay the fee though.
  10. What happens with these creations? What are the benefits of joining? You say absolutely zero about what the team is about, what a team member does, where the profit goes. You give absolutely no details.
  11. Hi there! To change your display name go to the "Me" menu -> open your profile > modify > display name > enter your name twice > save. In firestorm, open your profile -> up top where it shows your display name click the little wrench icon and change to your new display name.
  12. There are a couple ways this can be addressed. One of the easiest ones is simply selecting all the various parts already assembled and copying it into your inventory as a selection. You can also link everything together (not recommended if you have working doors and phantom prims used) and simply pick it up. Another good way, particularly as it relates to selling the building, is to pack it up in a rez box. You can find free ones on the market place. I use the caspertech rezbox which comes with detailed instructions and their support group is always active and very helpful.
  13. perhaps have you shifted the window out of sight... where to check, create a cube on the ground, right click it => attach as hud, then push CTRL-3 (edit shortcut), right click it again and zoom out with your mouse wheel to see if the edit window is not out of fields, in which case you'll can then move it back.

You have to change your viewer preferences to be able to, here's a link explaining exactly how to: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Accessing-Adult-land-and-content/ta-p/805975
  15. Underselling hurts a business a lot more than overselling as it cheapens the value of your products and in return makes the normal shopper pool think the quality is subpar which most often it is or you'd be charging more than just 35-100L. I was interested until I saw you dictacte your designers prices. No thank you ma'am, limiting a designer in any way is never good for creativety and such a low price WOULD tempt me to make subpar products to justify the time spent on them in relation to the product cost. When I spend several hours on a product I sure as hell don't charge 100L for it or even less. No one should, it hurts the economy but most of all it hurts the creator.
  16. Karen posted this: You have a seriously messed up SSL or [CA] Certified Certificate Store issue with your PC. Perform a System Restore or a Time Machine recovery to a date before this problem stated to occur. EDIT: When you can, be sure to check you PC's Hard drive reliability by looking in the Events System log. This is a weird file structure to be damaged on system shutdown. ________________________________________ In addition if you know you've been hacked or think so please follow this procedure: . 17. There's no 'general' price. It heavily depends on location. What will drive the price up is if the plot is: - next to a linden road - next to linden water - next to sailable water (the more sims you can access the better) - double prim land (that will make the price insane) - old mainland where you can tera form 40m +/- - decent neighbourhood. No fugly builds and such. One will drive the price up,more than one of the above? Yeah. Other than that mainland goes for 1L/sqm for spots that aren't attractive, most people just abandon their land then as it won't even get sold at 1L/sqm
  18. It's a bug, usually happens when a large amount of items is boxed up. I've had this happen on various occasions, it's no fun. For example, a full perm kit came with 40 trees. Only half of which ended up in my inventory folder. Then a few weeks later I purchased a pair of mesh shoes. Everything but the HUD showed up in my inventory. If the items are copy able then it works just fine to simply rez the box again and to unpack it once more. Hasn't failed me twice in a row thus far. If it's transfer only items then yeah, it would actually mean items were lost in the process. This bug has happened to me about 5 times throughout the past year, most recent was about 2 month ago, and thus far has thankfully not happened on no copy products (yet).
  19. I have nothing against child avatars, I quite enjoy a conversation with them every now and then when I happpen upon one in a store I'm at. However, if I would pay $295 of my hard earned real life cash for a private estate monthly and would spend most of the time I am not sleeping or at work to build up a roleplay sim and maintain it then I, too wouldn't go anywhere near a grey area like the scenario you put up. I simply would not want to risk all that hard work and money. Furthermore, in your OP you state "...but at least let them come up with a REAL reason/motivation. Something I can understand." as if you are entitled to it. Here's the deal. As soon as you pay Linden Lab for a plot of land, whether its a 512sqm plot of mainland, or an entire private estate, you are the king. You can ban anyone for ANY reason or NO reason at all. No questions asked. None of those landlords even HAD to answer your question, but they did. It's truly not your place at all to a) demand answers b) to demand BETTER answers. While understandable, it's quite rude how you treated those land lords answers simple because you do not share that view. With that said, I encourage you to buy your own private estate, to spend the initial purchase cost of $250+, the monthly tier of $295 and the dozens of hours weekly you will need to set it all up, to maintain it and...wait..you'll barely have that much time left to even rp! As an end note: Linden Lab can ban you for any reason. Or no reason at all.
  20. To appear as a creator of a mesh object, all you have to do is create a simple prim (or a simple mesh cube) and set that prim/mesh cube as the root prim. You will now show up as the creator as long as it stays linked that way.
  21. There's an option in the viewer that you can tick to automatically accept inventory offers. If you sent him the notecard and it said he accepted it -immediately- than he has that option ticked. It does not however mean that he was online at the time or has read it.
  22. Forgive me, I know this has been asked before but I just want to make 100% sure I am doing this right. I haven't owned mainland before, so this is new to me @.@ Okay so! The land size I want to buy is 9,056sqm. In order to stay within the $40 land use fee limit how do I proceed? I'm pretty sure the math is: 8192sqm + 512sqm --------------- 8704sqm + 10% -------------- 9574sqm. = still within the $40 limit. Is this correct? Now how do I go about it to get this land without slipping into the $75 land use fee table? Buying that land tells me it will increase my tier fees to $75 so I am confused. Is it even possibly during the first purchase?
  23. I am currently in the market for a small store rental for my current poses project. I've tried to search inworld and on google, but thus far I haven't found anything to my likes, so I am posting here in hopes of perhaps someone coming across this who could push me into the right direction! What I'm looking for: Mainstore/Shop for rent. Not looking for a satelite store. NOT located in a mall! I'd like a community feeling. Preferably a known designer or two on the sim. Size wise I don't care as long as it's bigger than 10x10 Prim wise I don't think I'll need more than 150 max. Not looking to pay more than 3L per prim. Quality shops around. NO BIAB. No crappy looking builds and textures from 2007. What I found thus far were only malls, or overpriced little stores where one drowned in the sheer mass of other creators. I'd love to band together with a couple of creators and maybe rent a 1/4th sim, or a homestead or something to build a small town with mainstores. I'd just like a nice location without being disconnected from other stores on a mainland or private estate sim in the middle of nowhere :P
  24. How to abandon land Open the World menu and select About Land. The About Land window opens. In the General tab of the About Land window, click Abandon Land. Source: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Abandoned-land/ta-p/846143
  25. In the about land menu, under options, check to see if they have their teleport routing set to Landing point. That'll make anyone who wants to go to the sim be forced to land at that specific point they chose. It seems a lot of parcel/sim owners seem unaware of what they're doing as that forced re-routing applies to anyone BUT them.
