So we'll soon be scripting and releasing the Valkyrie jetbike for free for all Combine soldiers. I worked hard on this mesh, and hope it does well in combat.

there are huds that can take control of animations on other people's avatars. they were more popular like 10 years ago and its some pretty retro griefer tech. how this works is the huds will rez invisible prims in front of your avatar or your camera and if you click pretty much anywhere it will sit you on the object and then it will take your permissions and even after you stand up they won't revoke the perms. after that the owner of the object is pretty much free to do whatever they want (animation-wise really) but if you sat on any odd objects recently that could be your issue. just go to avatar>undeform avatar and revoke permissions and you'll be all set. edit: i sent you a tool that revokes permissions and stops animations in-world. regardless of how it happened, that'll fix it.

there is a tool that has been used over the years in the combat community known widely to the community as "the wigglecock" what it does is it essentially breaks the connection from the sim to the asset server. This makes it impossible for objects to play animations, rez object, and do anything really, all without lagging the sim and without permissions from anybody. it was an exploit that was figured out by a guy named Syrinx (infinite.rage) and was last used by Velani Karu last week if I'm not mistaken. Did you upset any bronies or furries recently? The only group I know of (that still even uses it lol) is a group called TKOI/TIAF which is a primarily furry/pony military group (yeah... a mouthful isn't it) they usually dress up in bright red and purple armor. there is also apparently a way to make sim builds physical via similar exploits however that's only a rumor. if there ever was a community it'd be invented/used it would be the SLMC. and i've not ever seen anything like that happen. only mistrusting people and giving the wrong people rights has ended up in builds physdelinked.

combat community in SL is smaller than it was in say... 08 or 2011-15 but I'm interested to see if there's anybody looking who can't find the combat community. let's shoot at each other. LLCS ;}

I did this one today. Paladin Zemmitry dressed up in recruit gear for the photo. Took about 2 hours to take. Poses are original anims from our animators.

currently in the middle of shooting another. my black dragon crashed when i messed too much with my DOF so i recently had to restart it.

Finished up some meshes, and we're in need of photography of this base before we wipe it and make a new one as is the tradition. Gonna be making some photos for some ad boards. Figured the last time I posted here, I had a different loadout.

I gave my reasoning for the placement by visiting the sim, and seeing what i saw. There is overlap between all 3 subjects. I placed them accordingly.

Combat and RP are similar in that they are both widely participated in activities. The reason I'd say that they're two sides of the same coin is that every popular roleplay sim be it gorean, DCS or otherwise include combat alongside their roleplaying activities. Combat and RP are different in that one requires full attention to your surroundings, reaction time, precision, tactics, and many other ingredients. (Combat) And the other requires creativity, communication, story telling, attention to detail, patience, and again more ingredients. (Roleplay) Give an estimate: Okay in order to do this I'll take the 3 most participated in activities in SL (Sex, Roleplay, Combat) Do a search for each of the keywords, and add up the top 5 result's traffics. Since roleplay is a term used in sex, I disabled adult results for combat and roleplay. I even went to the trouble of visiting these sims to see if the advertised activities were being done there. For combat, I searched the individual meter systems, as not very many people advertise as "combat sim here" they are mostly labeled "DCS2, GOR" or otherwise. There is overlap between all 3 activities, but I allocated the sections based on their position in each search result to remove any bias. From this, we can see that combat and roleplay are pretty much the same as far as activity measured by land traffic goes. Another interesting statistic is how many people were AFK in each of these activities. It's hard to tell who's afk and whos not in sex sims, and tbh i didn't want to stick around and study it. Roleplay was predominantly AFK. out of my short visits to each roleplay sim, i looked at the minimap to find moving dots, cammed around using the area search to see if I could at least hear and see typing animations and I didn't see much of anything. It was like a scene from the twilight zone, everything was frozen. In the combat sims however, people were running around shooting, and slashing at each other, in other corners, people were conversing, and in the higher traffic sims admittedly it was pretty dead aside from TBW (always something goin on at TBW) I'm certain SLMC would make it on the list if we allowed people to AFK in our sims, but if we did, people would get a false statistic on whose active and ready to fight so we have a tendency to safehub people who AFK on our sims. anyways take with this what you will, I put in my daily effort towards this.

on the contrary i'm fully aware that the slmc in comparison to many other communities is rather small, and the ones that have posted that are from opposing military groups that genuinely dislike me. I'm still gathering a list of many active communities that dwarf the SLMC in size that are in support of a combat subforum. Many of them are actually roleplay groups imagine that. I feel like people argue just for the sake of wanting the thrill of arguing and having the slimmest chance at getting to say "I told you so" and dismiss any valid points anybody could have made. I've gone into this with an open mind in hopes other have, but have been met with bias purely because I come off like a dick. Stop focussing on my personality, everybody and their mother knows I'm insufferable. Focus more on the positive outcome, and weigh them next to the potential negative. You will find that all it can do is expand and assist a very largely participated-in activity which is shared across most SL communities.

a combat subforum wouldn't be just for the SLMC as I've stated earlier. VICE, GOR, DCS, CHAOS, MCE and so on so on make up a massive portion of the game. I bring up SLMC a lot because I've been there for many years.

you're good m8. If education were the right place, then roleplay related posts would go in there as well. education to my knowledge is to teach people how to use certain features second life has such as meshing, scripting, etc. Primjumping could go in there, but the only community that practices that is the SLMC and would fit nice and snug in a Combat subforum.

of course lol. If they represent a large portion of the game, they deserve representation on basic communication platforms. Even if i dislike those communities, they deserve a seat.

Then why don't we look at DCS Traffic? I even have quotes from many differing DCS Admins and owners stating they'd like a combat subforum, and are in support. Also went over to VICE, and they too would eagerly await a combat subforum. I haven't even gotten to the goreans. If we're talking sim traffic, Combat still wins SLMC or not.

then howabout we look at DCS traffic? I even have quotes from a very large portion of the leading DCS sim owners and administrators saying directly they would be in support of a combat subforum. not including the VICE admins I've spoken with. I haven't even made it to the Gorean section yet.

then perhaps a 'roleplay/combat' subforum should be suggested. Quick as a name change, really.
