Is there a way to adjust avatar positions to place avi's on pose balls into a more plausible postion, one that look more naturlal?

When logging in earlier today, I noticed my avatar to be half grey (upper torso) while the rest of it seems fine. I went through the steps of rebaking, recreating a new bridge, clearing settings and went as far as a clean reinstall. I check with my singularity viewer and have the same problem. I've tried changing skins and have the same result. The image I show is a basic model, for I tend to dress around this avi and save the results (clothing, ao's, hair etc) in separately named files for quicker changing. And like anything else "it was fine last night when I shut it down for the evening...: :matte-motes-big-grin: UPDATE: When I change to other clothing, items that are worn in the grey area seem to NOT want to be removed. Skin color changes to the proper color. Anyone...?

I have found at times, after driving a SZYM police car and detaching its hud, my avatar is placed in a run mode. I have attempted to stop the running by clicking the button that controls walk/run/fly but it remains on run and clicking stop all animation also fails to cease the running. I end up relogging to return to a normal walk mode. My question is there is another way to stop the run mode that I am missing?

Accept my apologies if this has been covered before. I would like to add a texture over a texture on a simple project for my rental. I rez the base, this being a square of wood and add the basic wood texture. So far, no problem. It's to be a simple sign with the font gimped with a transparent background. It's when I attempt to add a second texture (the font) that I lose the original wood texture (the original wood goes invisible). This is probably a very basic move by someone with more experience than myself. I thank you in advance.

I've created a group with the minimum two members (for now). The tag shows me as owner but doesn't show the group name. I've done a search pertaining creating a group and have done it properly. The only holdup before I start inviting others for membership is the lack of group name on the tag. What am I missing? Thanks Rolig. It took a bit of creative spacefilling to do, but I figured it out. Done and done, Peter :)

Can anyone point me in a direction of finding simple instructions to make my own tats, including application to the avi? I would like to have a simple name on either my lower back or arm. Any help is appreciated.

While enjoying an rp sim, one participant complained that their inventory was blocked. Checking the RLV hud provided showed all was allowed. Apologies since this may have been covered before. Is there a way to determine if an avatar can be seen as a avatar and not as a puff of smoke or an egg? Case in point, sometimes I sign in and all seems to be ok in the world. I can see my avatar and can tp without any problems. Eventually, someone will speak up and tell me I'm smoke (but I can see myself). Other than someone telling me, is there a way to know I'm not rezzing properly?

Just a shot in the dark...when and how does one get new friend recommendation in the profile?. Quite literally, SL has been sending me the same names for months, even though I have tried changing my interests. Is there a trick I'm unaware of or perhaps its a quirk of SL? EDIT: I have no problems with the recommedation feature 'cept it keeps repeating the SAME names from visit to visit. I'm hoping to jumble it up a bit and get some NEW recommendations. In fact, I do have another av and it get NO recommedations at all, even though the interests are changed occationally (the opposite of my posted question). SL is a strange but fun friend. ANOTHER EDIT: I've cleaned out the cache and browsing history. I've tried it with a new puter! Same ol same ol...same names as recommendations. It's far from a deal breaker but to see NEW friend recommendations would be nice (may have to buy a Powerball ticket the day new names come up).

This question involves the opposite of being a cloud, or an egg for that matter. After logging in and my avatar rezzed correctly (to me), I was informed that I was a cloud. For the most part I wasn't too concerned since it appeared correctly on my screen, however it did get me to think about it. I did open the avatar health tab and the only thing that seemed wrong was the network was slow. Is there a way to determine if my avatar is being looked at as a cloud or egg even though it appears fine to me, other than somebody telling me?

I've been attempting to change my display name to one that contains alt-symbols. As a result, I keep getting an error message that explains my name contains invalid characters. A kicker is that in my days and evenings traversing across SL, I've come upon others using alt-symbols in their display names, obviously without any problem. How does one change the display name using alt-symbols? Update: I'm not doin' the Prince thing, not that there is anything wrong...hmmm?

I would like to have my avatar capable to do a simple kneel and cross the arms, perhaps add it as a sit command. I thank you in advance.
