  1. Back after a long long break. ^.^ I love the new mesh bodies!
  2. I seem to have neglected my own thread, I didn't even know it was still going on. I used the tutorial given to me. Now I can see all of you as lovelies. hahaha. I'm sorry for not replying to my own thread.
  3. Shy needs boots made for strolling Q_Q!
  4. I had my days when I was a freebie fanatic, but now it is limited. I follow a lot of blogs and when there is a company that I've never tried out, I do enjoy their subby gifts because then I get a feel for how their designs actually are. I spend a lot of money, so I'm not destroying SL I'm destroying my wallet.
  5. I am finding myself very lonely here in Second Life. As I posted off in another thread everyone is coupled off everywhere I go! I havn't played in a few years so I'm really unfamiliar with what everyone does now. I'm a REALLY chatty person so expect me to talk a lot once I get into that comfort zone. I get along with all sorts of people. <3Cheyenne
  6. Hi there I didn't even know this forum existed, but I think it's pretty neat. I just started playing Second Life again and I have made a few friends. It's really hard because almost everyone I see is coupled off and I'm very bad at breaking the ice. I also fear facing the same challenges I did a few years ago. I love talking to people and I'd love to go dancing or just hang out. I've been shopping too much and I don't want that to define what second life is for me. I'm not familiar where to go anymore for the hot spots so I'm not to sure where to find some people. It's so hard now because men do talk to me, but it's always about sex. I wish I saw that maturity, I want to build a relationship and then we will talk the dirty haha! Needless to say, I'm glad your looking for a mature relationship with a friend. I'm kinda clueless as what to do next, I havn't found out what I want to do yet in Second Life, but so far it's a little lonely!! Welcome to second life and I hope I can talk to you! -Cheyenne
  7. I guess there is a fine line between just a facelight and being a huge xmas tree. I can see why someone would get mad at someone shoes blinging up the whole area. I remember years ago when bling was VERY in and it was all over the place. I was one of the blingtards and I can't believe I went through that phase. I really haven't seen bling as much though as much as it used to be. All the ladies shoes and jewelry would have the crazy bling. I found that story very amusing though about the shoes. bwahaha.
  8. Good evening everyone! Wow, didn't expect the huge response, but this community always suprises me. I don't even know how to respond to everyone at once. First off, let me say...THANK YOU!! I'm happy everyone has put some kind of input to tattoos or even refering me to a few places. I'm even happy that some of you have messaged me inworld. Now also let me say, I DON'T want to be like everyone else. I also do have tattoos in real life and they were so painless I'll do it again someday, but I always OVERTHINK everything. (So when I say butterflies, I don't mean just slap on a few butterflies and call it a day.) I do like the whole custom idea of tattoos. It'd be neat if someone could make the ones I have in real life. They are actually on my chest, but not smacked in the middle like I see quiet often in SL. I have not done to much exploring and getting out just yet in second life, so maybe this is why I don't see how common tattoos are. I love tattoos and I think they are a great way to express yourself. I'm not sure if I even stand out now, my socializing in second life so far has been minimal at best. I need to stop being a wallflower or a forum stalker haha! . I also liked the idea of trying to make my own tattoos. I learn very fast and I enjoy being creative so I don't know why I didn't consider that idea in the first place! I think I might mess around with that and recreate my tattoo that I have now. I'm still going to browse around a little and also hold into consideration of NOT having one. Sorry if I'm all over the place, everyone helps out and I want to make sure I'm thankful for that ^.^
  9. Facelights have been around since I used to play before I was allowed to... I had forgotten all about them until I came back, I was really frustrated spending a lot of money on really nice skins and them not looking as great as they did when I exited edit shape mode. So, I again as I always do, crawled to the forums and looked for advice. The advice was a facelight. For me the facelight fixed the issue and I was satisfied. I for one enjoy looking at other people's avatars! So saying nobody is looking might be incorrect for some. BUT as I said, I switched my graphics to high and now I do play on high. I looked like a giant light bulb and I felt really really sad for ANYONE who had to deal with my harsh face light. I took a recommendation here and bought a facelight. I setted my settings back to high and played around with it to make sure it was not harsh. Now I can tell a huge difference and I don't glow like a light bulb. I still appear the way I'd like to and I don't glow like an idiot. I'm sorry that I want to look the way I look in my edit shape. When you spend money on skin and your appearance you want, at least I do, to look just like it's advertised. I understand sometimes I should take off my facelight, especially in consideration of everyone else. I'm not a hater, but I understand those who probably despised me for wearing a facelight. My apologies to all, thank you for all the comments and opinions.
  10. I am almost done perfecting my avie, but I noticed something was missing. I really love tattoos, I have them in real life and I'd love to have some in SL. I've been looking around a lot, I tried SL Marketplace, but that's really not one of my favorite options. I enjoy going into the stores and looking around. That being said, I DO not want anything touching my chest. I do love sleeves, some back tattoos and so forth. I really would love to keep my boobies clean though xD. This is what I seem to have the most issues finding. I also want it to look as natural as possible. Nothing too bright and nothing too dull. I love butterflies, birds and all the girly things (no not hello kitty). I also love japanese art forms. Something a little antique looking I guess you could say. :) Hope I'm not to demanding! haha
  11. Eeerrrr...please explain why I shouldn't wear a face light? A lot of this game is customization and without a facelight I look like a puffy blowfish. Is there a reason NOT to wear a facelight?
  12. EXACTLY!! I was just messing with my settings and I was SO bright. I'm really sad for all the people who saw me in high with horrible lighting. I got on another avie to see how bright it really was, and you could see the brightness on the other avie standing next to me. >.<
  13. Thank you so much! I prefer rosy colors as well . I'm going to try this out, I'd probably look ridiculous on your screen. >.< You can't change the settings in the one I'm wearing.
  14. My friends gave me my nickname in real life. Shybird, so I added the shy to the end of it since shybird was already taken. I HIGHLY regret this avie name. I wish SL had an option to change it.
  15. I was just curious which graphics settings do all of you use? I'm only wondering because I use medium, (I could go high but I like the way medium looks better) and I realized when I change to high my facelight makes my avie look HORRIBLE!! Does anyone have a good rec on a facelight that DOESN'T make you look like a glowing xmas tree?
  16. Thank you for wishing me luck it does mean a whole lot to me!! My avie is a newborn but I've been playing second life for a while. (a year or two) but I have been away for two years and I'm seeing a lot of change. I do not get offended easy so i did not take that the wrong way, because I remember the first day I ever started it was SO weird!! I didn't know anything and everything was a suprise. But I understand. I take this as time to prepare myself and get some experience. Hopefully 7 months from now I'm grown as a person and I have a lot of information to use for my dream. I do need to prep myself, because at times I can be soft. I need to grow that layer and I need to learn how to professionaly respond to a 'horny' photographer or how to take it when someone doesn't like me. Thank you all, your really great people. It makes me feel encouraged to do this. I've wanted to do it for a long time, I just never knew how to get started. <3 Shy
  17. Unfortunately I applied for classes and at the moment I am not eligible because how new born my avie is. This was very disapointing, but I will apply again in the future. I'll work hard on getting known and learning a few tricks on my own. My close friend is going to help me with my portfolio because he is a photoshop champion. I am doing a few photos for a new company, I hope one day I'll grow further and further in the fashion industry. <3 thanks again.
  18. @Ceka I don't mind wearing other shapes to fit into clothes or wearing new skins. This is a whole new world I'd like to explore. <3 I would do anything for this type of experience. Should I build a portfolio before going to an agency? I'm very poor with photoshop, but I can research some lessons to self teach. I always use my resources. Thankfully you guys are helping me so much by finding some in world agencies, because there are SO many out there. @Tamara That was the thread I read about you doing shop modeling. I have noticed a lot of stores have bot models now. I do have a flickr and a blogspot. I wanted to do twitter eventually and a facebook but I wasn't sure if I should wait until I'm a little more noticed?? I do follow a lot of the fashion blogs and I get all the newest updates from the stores inworld so I can get the things that a *new* and *fresh* to keep up with the fashion trends. @Deej Thank you! I'm going to look into it. I think doing school is a good way to get connected! I really do appreciate all the help! One thing about the Second life community is they are always so kind! . I'm going to get on this ASAP!

  21. Hello! I'm hoping to model and I love photography. I'm shybirdshy in SL! Here is a picture of myself
  22. I did forget to respond to one of your questions, I'm mostly interested in modeling clothes for photographs and runway shows.
  23. Thank you!! I built my own computer and we pay for decent internet, but I would LOVE to see fashion shows. <3 How do I know when there is a fashion show? (Any groups etc...)' School? That is so neat!! Do you have any recs? I think I saw you commenting on another modeling thread, so I'm sure you are familiar with all of this. I appreciate the reply <3
