  1. I have to say that I really enjoyed all three looks. I loved the vibrant colors, and the style. It's a nice change from seeing no shirts all the time for men. I also loved the quirkiness of the outfits as well.
  2. I love Exile too, Lamb (search for Lamb Bellic) is also pretty nice too. I used to wear LoQ Hairs, feel free to try them!
  3. I agree with you! Hopefully, in the future of SL, there might be more of all of that.
  4. May I ask what skin? Another issue is that a lot of Asian skins only come in pale, if they do look youthful. Some Asians are pale but not all Asians are. I give Curio Jasmine props for being different in that light. I think a beta of Kumi was released in March for a special event, but the actual full skin line might not be finished.
  5. Shapes are a interesting point. I have done this, and every single time, the shape that the creator offers for it makes me look older than I would like to. A friend of mine has also noticed the same.
  6. Harper made a thread about Race in SL and it reminded me of something that I have been noticing for a while now myself, along with some of my friends. The variety of non-white skins are increasing, which is awesome but at the same time, a lot of them have a similarity. I noticed for some non-white skins, before Dutch Touch started and some others, it seems like it's hard to get a skin that is not mature/older looking. It's like being younger and being a different race does not exist in Second Life at all. An example is Pink Fuel. They are known for their sweet faced youthful skins. Before Kumi (correct me if I am wrong, please), there was no youthful Asian skins. Before Dutch Touch released Jaliah, youthful Black skins were not really present, in my opinion. Essentially, if you want to be a different race, you have to choose to look older. Some of us are younger and don't want to look older than we are or some of us are older but would like to look younger in SL. Am I the only one to notice this? Thoughts are welcome too. Edited to add: There has been a few, like vive9 and Curio, that have been different and more youthful but most of the time, different ethnic skins are usually somewhat mature.
  7. I think you're right! I had to play with it, I think the skin depends a lot too. It looks funnier when I wear certain skin. I read that post and went to check out the skins. You did well in my opinion. There's another issue that I have, but that is probably better suited for another thread.
  8. I have to agree with all that was said. I don't mind it, unless it looks the same with no change and ready for sale. I can't hate them because for my own skins, I use one because I loved the face so much but I do give credit where it is due, all the time.
  9. Yes, same as you! The shape was done on purpose to be that way. I can't see myself looking any other way. Skin is usually there, but sometimes a little darker because I have a hard time getting that excat tone.
  10. I hate that as well too. It's very disappointing. Store ownerrs should put their store policy in their profiles, or if they have an update blog or flickr, that should also be there too. To me, the most important one out of those is store policy. If I have an issue, I would love to know if they prefer IMs or notecards as a way of contact.
  11. 1. Do you represent as a race you're not in RL? (And does it matter?) No, and no, it doesn't really matter. For me, I feel most comfortable being what I am in RL and taking it to SL. I'm Black in RL so I always want to take that to where I go, to the best I can. 2. Can you find good skins, shapes, etc, in SL to achieve this. Honestly, I haven't had luck with any shapes. Most shapes, as I think one said, have more narrow noses (which is fine) but I know for myself that I don't have a narrow nose and I am fine with that. In the end, I had to make my own shape, based on a picture of me. For skins, it is good now. There's a decent selection of dark skins from The Body Co, Adam and Eve, Dutch Touch, Uzuri (they are nice, but hate them on me) , and MOJO. Also Chain and Vine, L.Fauna, Tuli, and Fresh Fx have nice tones too. However, marketplace has some gems as well.
  12. The most important thing is that the picture(s) is/are decent and that the list of credits is visible. I do like writing also, but I love simple, and clean pictures where I am able to see the products decently.
