  1. As long as tier is being paid (which it is) on those parcels that are priced at extortionate amounts then Linden Lab need not to intervene. It's the resident (land flipper) decision to do as they please with the parcel once they are the owner. If they want to be stuck with tier cost and a parcel set to a price nobody will buy then that is thier business. I know it's frustrating to see those extortonate prices for land but it is what it is and has always been that way. This is a resident to resident problem, again, no need for Linden Lab to start enforcing regulations. Residents should start putting in support tickets to buy up abandoned land is one solution to help mainland strive again.
  2. Hopefully LL will release an official announcement about it today! Thank you for the heads up.
  3. The fee is based on how many regions you own, if you own between 1-5 region then a region move is $150.00. You can find the fee chart in the link below.
  4. Don't let her win!!! But to answer your question there is nothing you can do since the prims are not directly on your land. Find some tall border rocks on the MP. Good thing she can not block your beautiful view of the ocean. You could also make a cute little skybox getaway for when friends visit Also you may want to remove the avi names from this post due to community guidelines.
  5. If this is the whole story then no it's not fair business practice but that is the risk you take when renting from another resident in Second Life. If you do not want to worry about being scammed out of your Ls, prims returned, or being locked out of the region then its best to purchase a region directly from linden lab and pay monthly tier directly to them. If you seek compensation that is something you must take up with the landlord. Linden lab will not intervene when it comes to transactions between residents in-world. Here's more info from the Second Life knowledge base on renting from other residents. The last paragraph in particularly. Also not all landlords are part of the Caspertech group so if your landlord was not following what was going on in the group notices or chats, they prob had no idea that casperlet/caspervend was down till it was too late or they were sleep, it did happen over the night hours. I highly doubt it was intentional. Once prims are returned there is nothing the landlord can do except apologize.
  6. Mainland is what you see is what you get. A support ticket will get you no where. It's best to just find mainland that has the ground texture you are looking for. Or There's gadgets on the marketplace that will create a sculpt the exact shape of your land and will let you drop a ground texture on it, given the illusion that you have changed the texture of the ground when really its a textured sculpt prim. You may want to check it out.
  7. The official announcement states that the changes does not impact your "bought down" region tier.
  8. Reach out to customer support. I'm sure they'll be able to help you.
  9. The annocement states the new price changes have no effect on grandfathered prices. So transfer fee for grandfathered region will most likely remain the same at $600.00. You can always contact support for verification tho.
  10. In order to be part of a 'donate your tier' group and become a donor, a resident would have to be PAYING linden lab to even have tier to donate. So again, somebody, somewhere is paying Linden Lab whether its through donation or not. Let the land sit for years. Linden Lab is still getting their cut. I am sure donors are being compensated for the tier they donate or it would not be a thing.
  11. As the article states those are only guidelines, it's really up to the lab to make the final call. If the land had been abandoned for some time or if they are just looking to sell as much land as possible. If you see land you want it never hurts to put in a support case whether you meet the guidelines or not. We could speculate all day or you could ask the resident how they did it.
  12. You can file a support case to request the sale of abandoned land. The attached page explains more on how a resident can request the sale of abandoned land. Sorry you missed out.
  13. Also, If you want the L's to go directly into your account instantly then the land must be owned by you and not deeded to a group. If the land is deeded to a group & you are the owner of the group, then you will get the L's the next day. Just make sure "Pay group liabilities and receive group dividends" in the Group Profile > Roles is DISABLED in every role except the Owner role. This will ensure the funds will not get split among the group members and the owner(s) of the group will get 100% of the L's. If there are multiple owners in the group then the L's will be split among the owners. I see that you just joined today, Just make sure you do all your research before you try to jump into a virtual business. I highly recommend exploring the grid, familiarize yourself with the viewer options and controls, and meet people before trying to start a business. GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!
  14. You could set up a parcel right outside the door of the building where "Anyone can visit", then set the building on a parcel where "Sell passes to Anyone" is enabled. These option can be found in the "About Land" window under the "Access" tab. As far as the prompt go, I've never done land passes so I am not sure if they will get a prompt or not, but you could always set up a greeting prim for that. More info on land passes can be found here > http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Land_Windows

  16. As I stated in another thread......As long as someone, somewhere is paying the tier on the land, Linden Lab has no concerns. Now if the real estates companies decide to abandon the land then some concerns may arise from the Lab. Land Barons usually know how to price the land and adjust accordingly to changes in the market. Just because you don't feel a piece of land is worth 12KL doesn't mean the next resident will feel the same.
  17. Land Bots have been long gone but what made you assume land flipping and hovering for sale signs were banned years ago? Linden Lab would never ban land flipping. Land flipping means somebody, somewhere is paying the tier on that land, now why would Linden Lab want to go and disrupt that.

  19. Can take up to 24 hours per the Auction FAQs page. https://usd.auctions.secondlife.com/faq#collect1
  20. Si, that is correct. For example, if you only own 16,384 sqm during the period you will only be charged 67.00.
  21. The highest tier level you hit that month will be what Linden Lab charges you for. Does not matter if you get rid of the land before the billing cycle is up. Nothing is prorated. For example, if you bought a full mainland region (65,536 sqm = 175.00/ month) and then go down to 1/4 region (16,384 sqm = 67.00/ month) before Linden Lab charges you, you will be charged the 175.00 for the full mainland region that you owned during the billing cycle.
  22. Someone has already purchased it for 95k and raised the price to 850K.
