  1. Awesome, Nalates. I hope Kharlis will take advantage of your suggestions. Thank you for sharing. Bookmarked the page myself too ... ^.^
  2. Can only think of trying to reach SL from a computer NOT in your household and see if problem is exactly the same (neighbour / friend / relative nearby ? ) to troubleshoot. Good luck in solving your issues. I'm sorry I couldn't help you better.

Maybe it has trouble forwarding requests to you by DNS ? I think DNS usually is trafficed through port TCP / UDP 53 on your own machine. You could try checking or setting your firewall / router to let DNS traffic through for the Second Life application. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Configuring_your_firewall
  4. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion-Forum/9-11-ten-years-after/m-p/1095111#M26020 It incorporates everything in this one picture you were trying to say, I think. And that wasn't stupid. Peace, dude.

  6. No. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Text-chat/ta-p/700155#Section_.5.1 You will have to transfer the file from the old to the new computer manually or start logging chat anew on the new one.
  7. " * * * Request timed out " just means a machine isn't responding to your request. Some might be setup not to respond to pings. You could try code.google.com/speed/public-dns/ instead.

  10. yw .. I think the origins of the SL Logo were explained on the old secondlife.com around 2007, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

  12. Only if you consider the Second Life logo more original than the use of the Hopi Hand as a symbol for creativity. ( Actually , the SL logo is based on it .. )

  16. 09/11/2011, 08:46 EDT I'm somebody anywhere now. A decade after the 11th of September 2001 I'm watching from afar again. I heard a most beautiful execution of a national anthem I have ever heard. I see dignity all over. I am silent for a minute. I'm with them eventhough they can never tell.
  17. Don't know if it's actually 'horror' .. but this scared me **bleep**less. Wanted to watch it to the end. Did. Was spending night at cousin's. Uncle had to take me back home in middle of the night. Wouldn't sleep.
  18. Your post sounds full of love and hope .. the honesty is endearing.. :matte-motes-grin:
  19. Drove to work that morning. Installation of hardware at a police station. Was located near royal palace of my country. Arrived at police station to watch the 2nd plane crash into the 2nd tower on CNN Live. Nobody said a word. Many just put a hand over their mouth in shock. Arrived home later that day to watch the towers come down. It was surreal. Like watching another reality from afar. Like watching stuff from movies indeed. It all seemed .. useless to me. I felt useless. I found us as a whole useless. I thought : Why ? There is no point at all doing this. Why ? I still think so. ETA : This arrived a couple of days later by mail :
  20. Second Life was created to let agents roam free. Anywhere every agent became a possible target to any objective since. That includes fence-sitters. There are no known survivors to report.
  21. Same problem here. Took test 3 times already. Cannot supply payment info however. No valid payment method availiable. ETA : Only want to try uploading mesh on Aditi, not Agni.
