So no I don't put alot of stock in web page stats sorry. lmao Oh well, then. I mean if the SOE used to do that with the SWG to claim the NGE wasn't a hudge failure, than lmao. I mean come on. What was I thinking? I was just explaining why I don't go by that. If ya never played it from day one to end I wouldn't expect you to understand, but imagine LL taking SL and dumbing it down to a point and click without the option to make player created content anymore and expect to succeed and then using web pages stats to say see our player base isn't so bad. lol Many mmo devs have done this in the past. So why would I not be leary of it happening with an mmo that needs to project the image of success in order to gain new player interest in an atempt to increase the buisness transactions conducted with in it? It all boils down to don't believe everything you read. And please don't misunderstand me I don't want SL to fail. I hope it does turn around. And if we are lucky it will.
  2. Just my opinion it's only worth it if you want a direct line to support. For me though my past experiance with sl support has been so bad they'd have to work really hard just for me to have a low opinion about it. Just starting out I'd say buy only enough lindens that you think you will need or want that way if you decide to quit on the spot your not out any extra money then what you already spent.

Maximum daily concurrence in Jan 2013 looks to have been about 65.000. By December of that year, after fluctuating to as low as about 55,000, it was right around 60,000. These days it's about 50,000. Yes, it is declining and unless LL does something useful, such as working on helping new users (or by taking advantage of the massive number of current residents to accomplish the same thing) it will probably continue to decline. But all this talk about how there've been massive losses in population is just so much talk. The numbers are right there. Ya I saw it and? I mean they can put any numbers up all day long and that don't mean nothing or garontee it's accurate especially given the amounts of alts the game has. Your welcome to hit me up ingame if ya like depending on what you and your boyfriend are looking for I might be able to point you guys in the right direction. Don't knock the kink dollar. We pervs need a place to rez our bondage beds and cages. We need privacy (apart from the exhibitionists!) and that means lots of land. We buy clothes, accessories and costumes by the folder-full - it just wouldn't do turn up to the rubber ball in the same a$$less chaps as last event. Some of us even buy normal clothes for the rest of the week! I would never, never knock the kink dollar. lol I am actually refering to the pervs you catch licking the pixel glass window. lol Those dudes have issues. lmao

A profile pick is a moment in time, nobody is under any obligation to trot through their picks to check their integrity by the hour. I second the motion on this. Tell them to kiss your behind.
  6. Are you getting an error when you try to buy lindens or what exactly?
  7. I got paid to rp as a Doctor and deliver babies once. You could try and go out for a nurse job at some of the medical clinics that do that. It was decent pay back when I did it. Give that a shot.
  8. Oh to add to what they said the awesome thing about rlv is the auto tp feature. I kid you not you could be afk taking a thumper dumper and your other half could have literally tped you to several different sims out shopping by then. RLV rocks dude. lmao
  9. Ok for starters and assuming they are not using a hack viewer the only way you can be tracked in sl is if you are wearing an item with a tracking script in it. Two someone has map rights on you and they are logging a different av to grief you and getting a good laugh at the fact that you are clearly freaking out about it. If it were me I would toss up the ban lines on my land and set my orb and add the names to the ban list. Go about the rest of my day not even stressing this. They can only lick the pixel glass window for so long before they get bored and leave. Best advice I can give ya. lol

Please press 1 if you use your right hand or 2 if you use your left hand. Press 3 if you'd rather not say. Oh, and add a "lol" or a "rofl" for that extra personal touch. Why do I have to press "1" for right handed? What do I press if i use both hands? "N" with your nose or "T" with your toes (if they aren't curling). What do I do if my "P" is drooping? See a urologist You guys are hilarious. lmao That was a good one Qie Niangao I never had my PUN used on me before. Nice. lmao I may make that my afk message now because of you. lol Thanks for that. I needed that laugh. lmao

It's the negative attitude that kills it... users still between 30 and 50k or a little more/less depending on time. Don't see it too black/white. It's been always up and down with places. I am around for 10 years and also in the busiest times stores come and go...clubs come and go....people loosing interest in one will get other places they visit. Nothing changed. It's not the negative attitude killing. You think I like saying that? I don't. I am just being real about it is all. Ya been in SL 10 years. Then you should know what is killing it is the lack of player base and lack of people willing to invest rl money into virual land anymore now days. Back then it was new and alot of people tried it out. When alot of them realised the take home wasn't going to be what they expected they dropped out. That simple. The people that stay they stay because they enjoy the game. The people motivated purely money are off on the next new venture. Such is life.
  13. BobbyGeorge wrote: Velk Kerang wrote: The reality is SL is slowly dying and alot of people don't want to admit it This. It's indisputable that, compared even to 2013, SL has become a ghost town. Anyone denying this is simply kidding themselves, or not checking in inworld. I joined in 2010, as part of a university group, and stayed on (as did others on my course) for a full three years, to the point I was quite heavily immersed. I rejoined this year (for nostalgic reasons) and the difference is as stark as SL vs Inworldz was when I left. Whole regions - not just sims - are depopulated. Businesses have disappeared. I don't mean one or two stores closing, I mean dozens of once-thriving businesses. Even when re-establishing contact with a few groups I was in, I've learned that activities have tailed off and membership has bombed. Sorry to say it, but SL really is on its death bed. That's basically the same experiance I am having more or less too mate.

I took a 2 year break and came back and just in those 2 years the game is deader now. Half my landmarks of places that have been in SL for years are gone and no longer there. I run searches that used to pull 10 or more pages end up with 1 to 2 pages now. Best bet on finding people is clubs, rp sims and stuff. Ya really have to sim hop based on your own interest really and hope you get lucky. Sims never used to be this bare, but seems alot of people have left. RIP VAN WINKLE: "What's going on - why isn't anyone buying anything? I woke up from my 20-year nap and went down to where the Montgomery Ward and Circuit City were and they're gone!" BYSTANDER: "Everyone's buying things on Amazon now." RIP VAN WINKLE: "Seriously? Who goes to a muddy river full of piranhas to buy things?" Things in Second LIfe change very quickly. Two years ago the big fashion in avatars was wearing Lola Tango fake boobs and Phat Azz butts. Now they're all but obsolete and many of the people who bought them back then are using fitted mesh bodies that didn't exist two years ago. This is not to say that Second Life isn't less busy than it was, but comparing the same places two years apart isn't necessarily a good benchmark. Actually it is. When I see places that have done lots of buisness and lasted say 7 years or so and was going strong when I left and come back to find most if not all gone. Ya that's a pretty freaking good benchmark. When I run searches that used to generate between 20 to 40 pages of results and they now generate 1 maybe 2 then ya that's a pretty good freaking benchmark. You wanna be rude and insulting that's your buisness doesn't phase me none. Facts are facts. And to go a step further if I had to take a guess having managed sims for land rentals that friends of mine owned before and seeing exactly what people make out of it I'd dare say it has alot to do with the fact they got tired of spending so much money on land prices and not making enough back from it. And for the record SL has not changed that much in terms of game content in the last 2 years. It's still looks EXACTLY the same as it did when I left it only alot less people now days. So your this new and that is new speech is a load of BS. lmao Ain't jack new in SL that I didn't see in it 2 years back. So I am not impressed. lmao
  15. That is hilarious. People asking questions and saying all to clearly they read the blog and LL responds only posting a link to the same blog already read. lol Now that's some SOE mess right there all he had forgot to say was working as intended. lmao
  16. Ya need to mess with them next time they do that. For example. Scammer: Hello, would like to participate in the promotion of Second Life 1000000 lindens? it's easy to just make a donation to the terminal Scammer, called (secondborderless) and answer the question: WHAT YOU WOULD DO WITH A MILLION LINDENS? The lindens collected will be used to feed children in five areas of south Africa. You: Hello you have just IMed the hooters bot if you would like to participate in our hooters survey please type 1, if not please type 2. Scammer: 2 You: Hello you have just selected to participate in our masterbaition survey. Please press 1 if you use your right hand or 2 if you use your left hand. Press 3 if you'd rather not say. Scammer: 3 You: Hello you have just selected to participate in our **bleep** pleasures survey. Please press 1 if you like it wide or 2 if ya like it long or 3 if ya want both and 4 to end the survey. I think ya'll get the point now. lol And you do this so on and so on with off the wall stuff and I promise you that you will not have scammer issues anymore. lmao
  17. Is there a viewer out there where if you mark offline to friends they won't see that you marked them offline? I mean sometimes ya just don't wanna be bothered and mark offline without someone taking personal offense to it. lol :)

The fashion show can be an importation part of that, and all so for developing self identity, sadly more and more schools are just truing into sheep factory's, or in the the case of Harvard exceptional sheep factory's. In high school I had a Mohawk, hung out with crazy looking kids, never drank or did drugs. My brother was student council president, dressed and hung out with normal looking kids, and drank so much he blacked out most weekends in high school. The biggest lesson I got from this growing up was to never judge people by there looks. On that note, our high schools valedictorian over dosed and died first year in collage. The kids the rebel the most or often the one's controlled the most. Like I even tell my boys you like hanging out with the girls shaking that money maker? Then EARN it. Because in THIS country you don't get the girl by being broke. You get a free bed in a homeless shelder. by the way not all women have price tags on them, in THIS country. Obviously not brains because anyone with half of one would have known exactly what I meant. Your behind eats don't ya? You like a warm bed and a roof over your head don't ya? You like your bills paid don't ya? Most women who actually have a real man expect him to handle the little things like doing his part to provide. Maybe when you GROW UP you will understand that's how LIFE works.

The kids the rebel the most or often the one's controlled the most. That's cold tick. Shrewd very shrewd. lmao Anyway Lexia I'd have to disagree with you. Here is the reality of it. School is about learning first and foremost. Social interaction is a bonus not a requirment. Kids have and get more then enough and plenty of social interaction with out school when they hang out, but I do agree that learning social interaction is a VERY important part of life. The way I do with my kids is I explain to them school is the prelude of what it will be like to go out and get a job. When your at school it's time for show buisness not show friends. Dress and act acordingly. You want to dress to express I can relate hey Poppa was a rolling stone once. lol Biker jacket, motorcycle, and rock and roll baby. So if you want to dress to express then EARN it. That's the rock bottom line to it. Like I even tell my boys you like hanging out with the girls shaking that money maker? Then EARN it. Because in THIS country you don't get the girl by being broke. You get a free bed in a homeless shelder.
  22. Ways to avoid this are ban lines, security orbs, no rlv or atleast rlv set to where others can not control your av except who you want to control it. Don't go afk on pose balls when your not at home. Not a very smart thing to do. I get what your saying, but honestly you can't rape an avatar unless the avatar is set in a position to be raped. Unwanted IM's well the mute feature works really really well in my book. I know I have tested it out afew times. Call it a learning experiance tell your friend to get over it. The concept of sick people on the internet is not a new concept. It's been around even before SL. People say it's just an avatar is another way of saying be thankful that someone just did not show up at your REAL house and beat down your door with freaking baseball bat and rape you for real. Since that obviously did not happen consider yourself blessed. And if your friend is really that traumatised and all broken up about what happened then they should definately not be playing Second Life. They should be playing the Sims games because just like the real world you will comes across alot of bad elements in it.

  24. I think in alot of aspects you might have just hit the nail closer on the head right there Muletta. And Bree I wouldn't think. I don't have issues holding conversations with anyone else. I probably do fit the definition of an introvert in some ways, but when your able to hold a conversation with every other being on the planet no problems except just one person then that's a good indicator something just don't fit right in to the mix anymore. I think Muletta got it right though. At some point it stopped being a real friendship and turned in to me just being the option guy. So option guy told her to go kick rocks. Problem solved. lol And ZoeTick, lmao just lmao at your comment. Between you and some of the other funny comments I read if nothing else I have gotten a good laugh out of it all. So thanks for that. lol There were alot of underlined issues with this friendship/relationship I didn't want to get into, but sufficet to say when someone makes you feel like you have to check in with them all the time and then when you do spend time with them they make it uncomfortable for you. That's a problem. When they log in to other gaming clients for the sole purpose of giving you grief because your not spending 110% of your time up thier behind that too is also a problem. Nobody likes a stalker. And honestly I was over looking alot of stuff, but I woke up the other day and it all just hit me wrong. So I basically exited myself out of that entire situation all together. Again I wanna say thanks to everyone for the imput. It definaately helped me do what I already knew I needed to do. Happy gaming everyone.
  25. Bree Giffen wrote: Velk, so you're saying that SL is being banned not because of content violating the Twitch rules of conduct but because SL is not considered to be 'video gaming related activities' as per the Twitch terms of service? I suppose that's a plausible reason why SL was banned. Well if I had to guess I am thinking it's because they don't want people streaming the adult content. They are not going to police the content uploaded by users from a single game so really that's the best way to avoid a situation all together. That's how I am seeing it on why they might have added it to the list.
