  1. This was really good! I'm surprised this doesn't have more comments/reactions!
  2. I have to agree with you on the friendliness thing. Thinking about it, I feel I do treat non-humans a little differently. I'm more likely to attempt to reach out in local chat to non-human avatars because I find they are much more likely to respond and strike up conversation. I also find i'm a bit more carefree and relaxed around non-human avatars. Slight side-tangent: It seems like with human avatars, there's this weird air of competition almost, especially among female avatars. "Who wears this better?" "That person looks like a total noob!" "Where'd she get that? I need it." Few will outright talk about it, but I know a lot of people on grid think about it. I've seen the way non-mesh avatars get avoided in busy sims. I find with furries especially, few judge others avatars beyond "That's cool!" You see quite a few furries with clearly outdated avatars, but no one really talks down on it, or thinks anything of it, at least that i've noticed. In fact, the few times they do, in my experience it's often to help you update your look! It's interesting. No other communities beyond the furry or transformation communities have I seen people outright buy each other full avatars, or spend hundreds or thousands of lindens on a complete stranger, just to help them update their look. I'm not a furry myself, but I've gotten a few avatars over the years. A few of them were gifts, while others I bought just because I found them cute and I enjoy being part of their circles.
  3. I love this idea! Maybe like a monthly prompt or something to get the creative juices flowing? Super excited to join this group! Doing it right now!
  4. I remember my very first day on SL. Waaay back on TG, I stopped into a city sim called Eutopia. I wandered around for a bit before running into some girl with really pretty white angel wings on. I asked where she got them, and she said they were a freebie. She passed them to me and I was so excited to have them! They were the first item I'd gotten beyond the default outfits. I wore them with my awful noob avatar and felt like a million bucks. Then, while flying around with my new set of wings (it really didn't feel right to fly without them!) I ran into a group of people sitting on a rooftop. We got to talking, and they were really nice people! We ended up being fast friends, and stayed friends until the grid merge separated us. We danced in the little club there that day, hung out on the beach, laughed and joked around, and in the days that followed, they showed me all their favorite places to hang out. SL back then really was just a different experience. It seems like, nowadays, you're lucky if someone even acknowledges your presence when you say hello.
  5. Changed outfits and took a few pics. Had to share again. ❤️

  7. There was a lot of booty in the original pic, so I cropped it to be safe. Older pic, but this is the avatar I was using today. Full image behind the link: https://flic.kr/p/2czhxK2
  8. Darn necklace is clipping but I can't be bothered to fix it right now.
  9. I am a friendly, fashionable, quirky, and young aspiring SL model. I love to help people and answer questions, and I'm not just going to AFK in your store on a pose stand. I bet you've heard all of this before though. What makes me so different? Well, on my avatar, I use a system called the ACS CCU. It's a HUD system that essentially turns my avatar into a living construct. That's neat and all, but why is that make me a better store model than any other? The CCU works with RLV. One of my favorite functions places two clickable balls above my head for anyone to use. One of them changes my pose, the other changes my clothes. Can you see where i'm going with this? Through the use of my CCU, a customer can, with one or two easy clicks, see your entire catalog of clothing and accessories in-world without having to leave the parcel to unpack a demo. And, because I enjoy playing this helpful construct, I won't AFK in your store. I'll be available to answer questions about styling, fit, and prices, make suggestions, and engage your customers to keep them shopping! I can also forward notecards to you in your absence, and help solve minor issues that would otherwise just waste your valuable time! Now, right now the only mesh avatars I have are the Utilizator Kemono and the Snaggletooth Kobold, so stores that make clothes for those avatars are ideal, though I would be willing negotiate with a store that makes clothing for standare LL avis as well. I have a wide-variety of mods for both of these avatars though, to suit whatever style you'd like, as a furry or a human, and a ton of accessories to style your products perfectly. So, what will this cost you? I bet you're wondering. Well, pretty much nothing! All i ask is that you help provide me with some of the clothes necessary for the job, or provide some compensation for ones I purchase myself. We can even start with just one or two outfits until i've earned your trust and done a bit of work. :) Here are just a few of my current avatars for both Kemono and Kobold Here is an example of what the CCU's functionality might look like from a customer's point of view. Contact me inworld (Reyetta Claven) if you are interested or have any questions. Or if you'd like to see the CCU in action. :)
  10. If you're using your own loose texture, click and drag it over the dark area to apply. If you're using an applier that someone else made, message the creator. If you're using an applier that YOU made, not sure what to tell you.
  11. Today I bought $10 in L$, and made a few purchases and payments to people. Went to purchase an item (~1,000L$) a few minutes ago on the marketplace and it said there was an issue charging my payment method (which was my balance of ~1,600L$). LL took the money from my account, so it wasn't that. I went back, tried purchasing it again, and the "buy" button on the order confirmation page redirected me to http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ , but no "Issue with payment method" error this time. The third attempt, the "buy" button simply refused to load. I was logged in inworld, so I attempted to gift the money to my partner so they could try and buy the item for me, and I got an error saying that the transfer failed, my balance displayed at -1L$, and another toast saying that the displayed total may not reflect the actual total. Tried reloging, and now it keeps saying my password is incorrect. I can log into the website using the same password, but cannot get inworld. On the website, my balance shows as simply "L$." No 0L$, no -1L$, and certainly not 1,600L$ that I should logically have. Attempting to click "Forgot your username and password?" on the viewer also redirects me to http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ , despite the fact that the grid doesn't seem to be down, or even under maintinence right now. What is happening? D: Edit: For all the people viewing. Viewer now displays an "Login Failed Unplanned Maintinence" notice when attempting to login. Guess that's the answer. Hope we get our L$ back and i'm not charged 1,000L$ 3 times. xD

  14. If you're still looking, i'd give LAQ a shot. I wear fair skins on my avi too, and that's the first place I look. All of their skins come with a bunch of options for makeup (including natural), and come in TONS of tones.
  15. Yes! I'm glad someone else agrees. You get it! It may benefit designers to enhance pictures of their clothes with photoshop, erase seams, brighten colors, and whatnot, but it doesn't benefit the people who buy those clothes in the least. Consumers hold a certain amount of trust in the photos on the webpage or on a display in the store, and if that isn't acurate because it's been made to look better than it actually is, they've now bought a product that they might not even be able to wear because of the rift between what they're expecting and what they've got. I've experienced this as well in the past, but i've learned to be very careful before I buy. If there isn't a good demo for me to try on, but I still really want the item, i'll often IM the creator and ask nicely if they have time to try on the actual item inworld for me so I can see it. It doesn't always work, but a lot of designers are really understanding and helpful. If i'm still unsure, I just won't buy the item. I do understand extensively editing photos for personal use, or for glamour shots and such if that's what you want (I generally don't), but it you're trying to sell something (besides your photoshop skills), I agree that editing the pictures is dishonest.
  16. I'm offering my services as a photographer to anyone who'd like photos taken. I negotiate prices based on the job (but i'm very reasonable). IM me inworld if you're interested. My specialty is natural environment photography (in lovely sims, not in front of green screens, using windlight techniques and little editing). Some of my work: http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/9427353074/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/9410136353/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/6160021605/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/6883859981/
  17. So, i've been doing photography on SL for almost as long as I can remember, i've done a few jobs here and there, but its mostly for pleasure. When I have tried to find work though, most will ask that you own and have advanced knowledge of photoshop. I understand that some people may need photoshop to get a picture to look great, smooth out pixels, or whatnot. But, (for clothing designers especially) wouldn't you rather have someone who could make your clothes look good inworld in pictures without needing to edit it to hell? Why is photoshop such a necessity? I feel like the tools provided on most viewers (ultra graphics, windlight, shadows, etc) are more than enough for the skilled to take beautiful photos without any further editing. What do you all think? P.S. I use gimp on occasion, but only to add shadows since my graphics card can't handle them inworld. I normally don't touch them after their taken except to crop them. http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/9410136353/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/6160021605/
  18. I'm also interested in helping out with either blog. I'm very active in all walks of SL life from hunts, to The Arcade, sales, and much more. My name is Reyetta Claven. Feel free to look me up. Here are a few of my most recent outfits and photos http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/9410151825/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/9412902730 http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/9410136353/in/photostream/
  19. Are you looking for a fresh face to represent your designs? Maybe you need a fashion blogger? Need help styling models you already have? Or, maybe you just want to look nice for a date with your special someone? I can help! I pride myself representing myself inworld with style and class, and I change my outfit often, sometimes to fit certain themes, or to create an outfit around a certain new item. I'm willing to help you do the same, or even to present myself to you as a model for your designs. I have TONS of clothes, hair, shoes, and accessories to help create unique and stylish outfits around your designs, and i'm very experienced in shopping for new clothes to match a certain look. IM me if you're interested. -Reyetta Examples (I took all these pictures myself.): http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/9410136353/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/9412902730/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/9410151825
  20. I've worked as an escort, dancer, and a host in the past, but am looking to expand my career opprotunities. As a model, I have some experience doing instore modeling for a small store, but I have a very beautiful, seasoned avatar with a wide selection of accessories, shoes, clothes, and high-quality hair. I can work as a human or a furry with either a white DSD Fennec or a Cream DSD Cheetah. Headshot: http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/6825988959/in/photostream Full Body: http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/6825989411/in/photostream/ As a photographer, I have lots of experience taking photos within SL using the windlight function and inworld techniques to create lovely photos. It is my belief that if you have skill, you don't need expensive editing software to create a beautiful image or show off a product. A few examples: http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/6160021605/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/reyetta/6101020371/in/photostream I also took my own headshot and full body shot. As a roleplayer, I have years of experience in a variety of settings. I also have great grammer and an expansive vocabulary; though, i'm sure that's apparent. Please contact me inworld if you have any questions or are interested in hiring.
