10/21/2011 12:37:51 SLT, I paid L$50 to a vendor for an outfit 10/22/2011 04:54:39 SLT, I paid L$0 to a freebie vendor for an outfit. Neither has been delivered as of yet. The first vendor gave a message after purchase, that if there was a problem with delivery to contact "so and so" (I'm not giving names) so I sent them a notecard explaining the situation but I don't think they've been online yet. Usually the longest I've waited for a purchase to be delivered if 5 minutes. The only thing I see on the grid status page even similar to this problem was marked as resolved on the 20th so is it just me or is this another bug?

I personally use a combination of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Spybot S&D and have yet to run into any problems (going on 3 years now). I tried Avast and AVG and they worked well but for some reason or another SL wouldn't run properly or very laggy with them. I used to use NOD32 but my license ran out and when I tried the demo of the newer version (try it before you buy it) it caused the same lag problems as Avast and AVG. Norton and McAfee should be avoided at all costs, they in them selves seem to be made up to make people spend money. I scanned a clean file I had on a flash drive with every AV on the market (with current virus definitions) and none of got a hit on it except for those two.

I figured out the problem (sort of). I think it's my lines, I have to call Monday and get a service tech out here. It was downpouring last night to early this morning SL wasn't working right so I decided to watch some streaming movies and they where acting up as well (even though everything else seemed to work). It stopped raining for a while and everything was working mint, then it started pouring again and it started acting up again. Weird thing is I have high speed DSL why would it act like satellite unless it was a line problem. It's raining a little hard now and I am getting some lag but have been on for 5 mins with no problems (other than the lag). So I am almost sure it's either the drop line (from pole to house) or the lines running on the outside of the house. The router and modem where the first things I checked and plugging my PC directly into the modem got the same results so it isn't the router. Just wanted to verify that it wasn't a grid wide problem before I called up the tech. Just F.Y.I. the streaming videos where not from a very reliable source anyway so at first I assumed was a server problem.

Trin Eiselstien is my AV's name. Trin because that is the nickname my uncle (god rest his soul) gave me, he said I looked like Trinity from the Matrix movies. Eiselstien, I wanted something that sounded foreign and a little different and I am a fan of Fullmetal Alchemist so I picked a name from one of the "not so mainstream" characters Armony Eiselstien. As for the Trin1 thing, Trin was taken.

Wondering if it is just me or not. I can log in for about a minute accept items, receive group notices, ect. After a minute I can look around using the mouse but I can no longer walk, send messages, teleport, nothing. Then a few seconds later I get the popup box saying I've been logged out of SL. This started last night at roughly 9:30 SLT (12:30 my time) and is still doing it this morning. Viewers used Singularity, Viewer 2 and Firestorm

Now it's working again.......Pulls hair out!!!!

I logged in fine then it seemed like every 3 minutes I got logged out. Now I can't log in. I get an error, Unable to connect to Agni. And something about it might be that my computers clock isn't set right. The clock is working fine and matches up with the US naval observatory master clock, so I know that isn't the problem. Are we having more grid problems or is it just me?

Was contacted in world and found a pretty good priced place, so I guess this can be closed.

You could have got it from a Midnight Madness board. There have been a couple I've seen that didn't have an item picture and the item you got was called "gift" (or some variation) in the inventory dialog.

I'm looking for a cheap place to start a small store, nothing too big is needed. I'm hoping to get as good a deal as I found on my apartment, about L$220 a month with 30 prims (but I doubt it). It's just going to be an affiliate store to start as I don't really have the know how to design original objects/clothing as of yet. I want to have one of the Mama Allpa Affiliate Vendors (so the land has to be set for it), one of these and maybe a clothing one too (not sure which one yet though) to start there so I assume it'll have to be in a mature or adult rated area. I'd also like to see about putting a traffic cone or two to help get foot traffic. If anyone has/knows of a place I'd be appreciative. If this is in the wrong section I'm sorry, can you please move it.

Thank you for the help on the MM boards, this should help greatly. About the second question, I figured it was a shot in the dark and I will probably be stuck sorting my invintory the "fun" (read long and boring) way.

A day of two ago I got a couple offline messages in my email because I got items from MM boards and it said to log in to claim the item. I was too busy to log in untill now and when I did I didn't get any item confirmation boxes. I (stupidly) deleted the email messages containing the addresses for the MM boards and for the life of me can't remember where they are. Is there anything I can do? Also while on the topic of items, is there a quick and easy way to sort through your items, note cards, landmarks, ect and detect/delete duplicates? Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but it didn't seem like a server or viewer problem and I didn't see a misc. help section.

Thanks everyone for your help, the crashes aren't completely gone but they are greatly reduced. This is why I hate BellSouth "fast access" DSL. In a about 10 days or so AT&T is coming to hook me up with UVerse so with better internet maybe the problem will vanish all together. Pllinia, I wish I could be of some help but I'm in not much of a better boat than you. I hope these nice people can help you out.

I'm using Singularity Viewer, as it seems to work best for me. The only http settings I can seem to find are under the debug settings they are, httpMaxRequests which is set at 32 (I assume by default) HTTPMinRequests which is set at 2 HTTPRequestRate which is set at 30 seconds ImagePipelineUseHTTP which is set to true Might one of those be it? *Ok after searching for the wrong words in the search *slaps head* I think I found something. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Viewer/HTTP-Texture-Fetching-Max-Requests/m-p/966089#M4355 States that httpMaxRequests should be set low, so I'll try halving the number and go from there.

Ok thanks. So the viewer can crash without Windows saying it crashed? I haven't had many program crashes since I bought this computer but every time I did I got the error reporting popup thing. Your answer helped some but added a little more confusion as well.

I don't mean to sound like a noob but what does this mean? I got it a few times last night and once today (so far). At first I thought the viewer crashed because it just closed without any warning, but there was no windows error report thing so I guessed it wasn't a crash. And when I try to log in to my last location I get that error message.

With me it's a toss up between viewers. I like the "simplicity" of the official viewer, as I'm just an average user and have no plans (at least short term) of building things and whatnot. However when I use the official viewer I seem to get random disconnects from my wireless connection. I've tried Phoenix Viewer and it was ok definitely not for average users, the random disconnects where fewer with it. I'm currently using Singularity Viewer it's much like Phoenix in it's complexities but aside from a little lag when areas are loading I no longer get disconnected from my wireless.

I tried to link my paypal account to my SL account, the first time I tried my PP account wasn't verified yet and I got an error saying such. I tried again after verifying my PP account but I still get the same error. Any help would be appreciated? More info if needed: My PP account has a different email addy than the one I used for my SL account if that matters? One email for business one for everything else. EDIT: Thank you for the very professional and timely answer, but it seems to have righted itself. I decided to try it again this morning before I was going to make the call to billing and it went through fine. So I guess this can be closed or whatever you do with answered questions.
