I have the same exact problem on my very new laptop. I first downloaded Second Life, did to tutorial and the logged out of it. When I went to log back in, it gave me the same error, and everything is up to date. This is very frustrating, because I would like to actually start playing Second Life. Will check back later to see if there is a solution
