These objects often have extremely offensive photos of pornography, dead and mutilated bodies, and heart-wrenching animal abuse. Some people believe that Second Life would be a better place to visit if Linden Lab would give selected volunteer residents the ability to stop griefer attacks as they are occurring. There are organized, trained groups in Second Life whose members respond to these gr
  2. No new feet bones? I was hoping to get rid of all the different feet that load with mesh bodies, and the seam. It would be nice if we could pose the feet. I don't think feet need as many bones as hands, but it would be nice to have the feet be able to flat or high-heeled without separate meshes. Currently, mesh body makers load all the different feet types and make them all transparent, except the one you are using. I was hoping to get rid of that laggyness.
  3. What you probably have, is a "boxed" item. You will need to either wear it or rez it (set it down in a sandbox), then right-click and "open". Wait until you see items listed in the popup window, then click "copy to Inventory." You can also pick "copy and wear" but that makes you wear everything.
  4. You need to ask the giver of the gift card, or join the caspervend inworld group. I know there was an old version of the gift card system that was not very good, but I thought casper disabled it.

The reason for the request had to meet certain criteria, such as for business reasons or you were a RL celebrity and wanted to have your avatar have your RL name.. They didn't change the name on your account, you got a new avatar. The fee? $1000 US billed annually for as long as the last name was used by an active account. So get rich and famous in RL or start a company and grow it into a big brand name with deep pockets and perhaps you co
  6. Dearest Lindens: Look. This is something the community wants - the ability to have a last name on "newer" characters. This is an opportunity that thus far as a company (who wants to make money, I presume) you all have squandered. You could develop last name reimplementation - and charge for it. Normally, I wouldn't suggest such a thing - but sometimes I feel as though developments that are not fixing world-braking bugs need profit potential in order to get done. you could charge like $500 linden or require permium membership in order to get or change a last name. Thoughts?

  8. That's why I said "sometimes". I know that some creators can make things better than others. The thing I am talking about here is the fact that the standard sizing is a workaround for a deficiency in design that works to varying degrees. I just want people to keep that in mind until a better solution is found for avatars. I totally agree with trying demos before purchase, no matter what type of clothing one is purchasing. I feel as though creators who don't supply demos have something to hide.

I just saw what cool things the talented creators could do in mesh, like houses, vehicles, all kinds of stuff. But clothes? Arrrgs, noooo!!! And up to this day I hardly see any mesh clothes that fit me correctly or have much appeal for me. Skirts? Give me the good old flexi prims any time. Bikinis, t-shirts, jeans? Paint them on me. It's all good and fine, no need for stiff, ill-fitting stuff that shows invisible alpha layers and won't even move nicely. That's my
  10. I like: Full Screen Mode (I don't need to waste screen space with windows bars) Copy/Paste and Align Build Tools Settings on the Fly Low Crash Rate I use the hybrid mode with a few tweaks.
  11. Maybe I'm getting it wrong - perhaps it's the way I am reading things - but sometimes the problems with Mesh are improperly blamed on mesh creators. While there are different levels of skill in all creators, they are alo faced with unusual challenges due to the system. The standard sizing system for mesh clothing was designed to be a workaround for the poor rigging of the SL avatar and the under-developed mesh system. Remember that the Lindens, when they implemented mesh, had no "idea" we would want to use it for clothes. Incredible! Mesh for clothing was a low priority of the mes

  13. I feel as though this whole anniversary promotion/celebration is sloppy and haphazard. There should have been a companion contest across the pond - I am sure there is a computer company who would have liked to receive markeing information offer a contest to european and asian residents.
  14. What the lindens should have done is outright hire virwox to do their exchanging for them, because they were doing a better job than the lindens anyway. I know - radical thinking - hire a financial company to do financial stuff.

I get that laptops will not beat a desktop, and will likely implode/melt/explode/give me electric shocks/die a terribe death in the near future, - but seriously - I am out on the road a lot, so this thing has to be portable, as I want to keep my hand in and keep my sl job rolling, and can't take with me or hook up a complete desktop set up in a grubby, work supplied B&B. Shame but true. Sorry - didn't wanna start a forum slanging match - but thats what I'm dealing with. For the technically infantile, like
  16. There is truth in both camps. Really, it depends on what your budget is, and your expectations of how much of the high-end graphics experience you want to utilize. Wireless internet is less bandwith than Ethernet, and you will see a performance downgrade when using it. There is also a bit of lag between sending the server a command and SL receiving and executing it. This is true of all computers. If you are going laptop, a discreet graphics chip with its own memory is essential. Do not get any laptop with an INTEL graphics chip. This chip was designed for business machines - it is p

After literally months of researching, getting the opinions of friends - some of whom are techies - more research, looking at big box stores in RL and online and more recently having watched building vids, I have come to a crossroads: 1. I definitely want a PC that will be easy to upgrade. When I check out the brand names online (Win7 having apparently disappeared from the brick & morter stores) - some of the cases seem either plastic-looking/flimsy and/or not as wide as my custom-b
  18. Try Ebay. You could probably find a LOT of nice desktop models for sale. Laptops are a MONEY trap if you are on a budget. They are expensive to buy and impossible to upgrade. You could find a PC desktop for under $400 at Wal-Mart (or ASDA across the pond) that will run SL screaming fast. If you have a flat screen TV and it has a HDMI or VGA port, you don't even need a monitor. Mine runs on a VIZIO 55" TV. SL does need to evolve in order to survive. I am only offering some suggestions in the hopes of not leaving anyone behind.
  19. I have been on creative cloud about a year. For me, as I am a Master collection subscriber, the money ends up the same when I add it up between the sub and buying it. It's not a bad deal for me, as I do graphic design IRL. However, if I only used it for second life only, I may have felt differently. http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop.html You can rent photoshop alone here. If GIMP is not powerful enough for you, you can also try PSP from Corel. http://www.corel.com/corel/product/index.jsp?pid=prod4900067&cid=catalog20038&segid=8100002&storeKey=us&languageCode=e
  20. Mesh is really in the beginning stages. Your clothes on your blog are quite nice - I would keep selling them. Many SL'ers are not wearing mesh clothes yet due to the fact that mesh doesn't resize like SL clothes does.

Selling the currency is against the TOS. It's not the social scene of Second Life as of yet, but there are a lot of things coming (including their marketplace) that I am excited about. I can see Kitely as an alternative to SL for organizations and universities. I have a large 4-sim world there, and it only costs me about 100 USD including my gold membership. I can barely get half a mainland plot i
  22. It depends on what state you are in, and what state you are in. No really, in NY lottery tickets are a bearer instrument, like money. However, in other states, laws are different. If you really want to find the woman, you will only be able to if she is either: a regular customer, or if she used a debit card.

And inworldz is afaik the biggest of the other grids.... Suf
