The thing is .. I DO NOT WANT 2 factor authentication. I despise it. It is impractical. I do not want to need my mobile telephone to log into SL.

However, having a user log in name that is not our actual avatar name would be beneficial, as then not one of the two criteria required to currently log in is known to others.

Regarding passwords I, for one, am capable of making a usable password which would take a computer about 2 trillion years to crack   https://howsecureismypassword.net/

    1. Two-Factor is optional on most websites that use it.. So if you don't like it or don't want to protect your account, then don't enable it.

    2. It doesn't matter how strong or complicated you make your password, the majority of lost accounts are done not by someone brute-forcing a password (aka, using a computer or inputting random passwords), rather it's through hacks where your account data, such as your username along with your password is stolen directly from Linden Lab's servers or stolen through hidden malware/key loggers or man-in-the-middle attacks. So regardless if your password was 100 characters long, contained random capitals and lower case letters, numbers, symbols, etc.. all the person who stole your account info would need to do is simply copy and paste it.

Number 2 is the #1 reason for two-factor authentication. regardless if a hacker stole your password, it is useless as they won't be able to pass the two-factor authentication step, and if you get a text with a code at a time when you didn't attempt to log in, lets you immediately know your account info is compromised and/or someone is attempting to steal your account, so then you can change your password, etc.

Personally, I own land in SL, i receive lots of rent and tier payments, Personally I would love to have the peace of mind of having a two-factor authentication option for Second Life as It would be added protection from someone stealing my account info and stealing the hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of lindens off my account.

  3. Asking $300USD + Transfer

    Tier Date: 5th

Perfect Name for a Hangout, Club, or Mall or Residential rentals.

If wanted, this homestead already comes with two 1/4 Sim Parcel Renters (commercial/stores), Both currently pay L$2,250 per week or L$9,750 each per month (2,250 x 52weeks a year, divided by 12 months = 9,750 per month).

So in total the two current renters pay L$19,500 per month which is approximately $80 USD. In other words, this is more than 1/2 the monthly ($125) Linden Labs cost of the homestead already.

Both current renters have had their remaining rent refunded, been explained that this sim may be transfering to a new owner, and are both ready and willing to stay put and begin paying rent as soon as transfer is complete, so the next owner may be able to immediately set up rental boxes and immediately begin recieving income from this sim.

I was using 1/2 the sim personally for myself, but I have went ahead and cleared out my items, so now there's 1/2 a sim available to rent out as well for an additional $80USD per month or use for yourself if you wished.

  7. Open Space Sim Class 7 Region for sale with nearly 3 weeks of tier included, Price: $180 For Sale, Includes the $100 Transfer, Rename, & Moving Fee in the price.

Linden Labs Tier Date: 5th of every month (Next Payment Due September 5th).

IM me in-world or reply here.

    According to Gridsurvey.com:

    • Last checked 2013-08-16
    • Data based on last visit 2013-08-16
    • Server Class 701 (Class 7)
    • Server Version Second Life Server 13.07.19.278836

Only 1 region (an empty sim) sharing the same host (instead of 4+ as average).
  8. The other option is if you use a rental box that supports setting a prim allowance.. then you can set those to to a limit and so your renters will know that even though there is alot of prims available on the parcel itself, they are only allowed a certain allowance.. and if they go over that count.. it will warn them that they have gone over and will alert you.

I know CasperTech 's CasperRent offers that feature for their rental system

    • Thanks 1
  9. i just stopped by and indeed you do own it.. i assume the previous sim owner must of transfered it to you and paid the transfer fee and didnt tell you or confused you?

so this means your monthly bill goes to Linden Labs, noone else can pay them for you.. so from this point on... pay no one.. Linden Labs will automattically deduct the monthly teir through your linked paypal/credit card.

and if this is not the case.. possibly an error O: on Linden Lab's side.. you may also contact Linden Lab's Live chat to verify if in fact this sim belongs to you fully!

If it works out as planned.. maybe you will score a free sim, and never have to pay rent to someone else again and instead to Linden Labs for the normal $295 monthly fee.

https://support.secondlife.com/start-chat/   <-- you can contact live support here.

But it appears to me ticktack is just the estate's name.. not the sim itself ^.^ an estate beign a group of sims :)

you wouldn't happen to be interested in sellign the sim woudl you xD? if you notice the full region sale page, i've been looking for one and waiting for one to post :D

in anycase, it's best to contact linden labs and verify who owns it and how billing works.

  10. to see who the estate owner is.. just click on World>Region Details, if for some reason it doesnt show there, or shows your name.. you can verify this also in the about land window, under the covenant tab.

Also unless you went through Linden Lab's process of a sim transfer through the support ticket process.  You are not the estate owner.. you're probabyl confusing that with Estate Manager.. an estate owner can assign up to 10 people as Estate Managers, people who are allowed to manage a sim, change settings, etc.. just don't actually own it, cant sell it, cant change ownership info, etc.

If for some reason you did do this at some point.. and you are indeed the land owner.. then you are probably going to get billed by LL when billing date is due.

What is the region name in question? I can visit and check the owner for you ^.^

  11. with the full region tier expiring so soon (on the 15th) and a asking price that is more then 1/2 what some full regions have sold for with weeks of teir still on the land. it's likely this sim will get reclaimed by LL. because not only would they need to pay your asking price of $350, but also within a few days pay $295 to LL, so essentially almost like the sim cost $650 to buy.

I know you're trying to sell it based on it's history/name/location, but you have to kepe in mind that most sim buyers would most likely 90% of the time, have it renamed and moved to a new location on the grid as part of the transfer process to "make it their own"...

Also gotta keep in mind there's some listings for the $350-400 price range (including transfer fee) and A full month of teir on the land! so essentially it's almost like the land is being sold for free, just the cost of the month's teir. So for the homesteads, you are in line with the goign price, you should probably create a new post and market those individually for $200 or 250 includign transfer each.. then sell your full region that's about to expire for $50 plus transfer so you'll at least get somethign for it and hopefully get a buyer soon! good luck!

  12. i disagree with your statements.. take my sim for example "YIFF".. we are very fortunate to be one of the few sims on a Class 8 server.. have been for over 1/2 a year now.. we are the highest trafficking Fur Club on the grid.

Just as I said, just go to http://www.gridsurvey.com/ . type in any region's name.. you will see the complete info and some history of a region. but also you will be able to see the server class. you will see my sim, YIFF is a class 801, Furry is a class 703, and other high traffic popular Furry Clubs, etc, you can see are also too class 703, then if you look up a region which isnt high traffic, such as a residental sim, or mall, etc.. you will most likely see they are only class 6 or 5.

LL just doesnt at random change a Sim's host.. only time LL will ever move a region to a hew host/server is when there's some serious issues or by request.. and only to a server of the same class.

in addition, Only time LL will consider bumping a sim to a class 7 or 8, is for high traffic sims and clubs.. furry happens to qualify for both as far as i can tell.. also due to it's age, the older sims of SL managed to end up on Class 7 servers, just like the higher traffic clubs and regions.. and once you are bumped up to a higher class. it is there for good..

lastly, "no more "classes" LL only said that when class 5 became the new standard.. back then there were only class 4 and class 5.. (6 on development testing side), so in ~2010, every class 4 server was upgraded and became class 5. thus technically there were no more classes.. however since then.. class 6 came off development and were implimented.. and class 7 became the new testing server, then finally implimented in 2011, and then in 2012 class 8 became the new kid on the block.

it is very stupid to think that LL isn't going to keep servers up to date or build new servers with new hardware since 2009/2010... just realizing this alone. .you will know how wrong you are.

LL is constantly upgrading and implimenting and testing new software and hardware.. and when those new systems pass the tests and development stages, they get rolled out and available for the public.

p.s. good luck with the sale.. the name alone I know is one of the most popular search terms in second Life... more popular than my sim's "Yiff" and I know from my experience, we owe a large chunk of our initial traffic when we first opened our doors to the name alone cause people would search for yiff and it will show on the top of every search result.. just as Furry does.. I wish i could take over this sim and another sim tier or else i'd already of bought this sim from you :<...

also another thing.. I am pretty sure this region is much older than what you say it is.. no way with a name liek Furry, it wasnt one of the original mainland sims in SL back in 2003... then probably split off in 2006 when SL began to offer Private Island Regions. it is just silly to think with such a popular and common name like that that some of the original SL users (furries) didnt think to claim that name.
