I have a 1/8th sim parcel that i am renting, but i am also technically the "owner" of the lot. I have had the place for over a year now. Last year, i used to be able to allow other people to edit land there, but now that no longer seems to be an option. No matter what i try, only i can edit the land now. I recently had a land glitch that reset my land back to basically flat, and i need a friend of mine to come in and to the terraforming, since i am not very good at it. It has been suggested that i deed the land to a group, but i tried that on another parcel that i rent and it doesnt work either, because i cannot grant land editing abilities to group members.

I have a 1/8 sim parcel that i "own" but i am actually renting it. Last year, my (ex) partner used to be able to edit land on the parcel, but now only i can do it. I would rather not go into deeding the parcel to a group. I tried that at another location and it doen't fix it either. Is this something that i can change in the "about land" menu on my parcel, or does the sim owner have to do it?

I REALLY need some help figuring out a weird problem. Starting about 4-5 weeks ago, some portions of my avi (torso, legs, and head, sometimes all at once) turn invisible when wearing certain items of clothing, or tattoo layers. It is not consistent as to what items specifically, or when. There are times whe i can wear the items without difficulty, and others it just doesn't work. When it happens, usually just removing either a tattoo layer or whatever the last piece of clothing i wore fixes the problem, but it keeps coming back. The really strange thing is that when it happens, my avi has on a collar / belt that contains am inmage of the top left portion of my screen's toolbar (see pics below). Tghis is driving me crazy and I really need some help...thanks btw, I am using V2/V3 and have checked for hidden alpha layers.. below are three pics of my current avi, with and withouth hair, and one pic using the default starter avi (character test). Note the image of the SL location bar and even a portion of the mini-map.

Hi Sofiee...somethign that worked for me is i started spending time at some of the Infohubs...they are great places to meet new people. They do have their usual little groups, but most are friendly if you just say Hi and start talking to people. I have also only been on SL for about a year, and have met several people at infohubs that becaume REALLY good friends. Try Isabel...it is friendlier than most, and I am usually there 3-4 days a week. Look me up if you go there

I use an oil layer from LAQ. it comes in several different intensities and can be worn on at least three different clothing layers (not sure about tattoo). Alessandra also has some good oils.

I sort of had the same quesiotns about my avi a few months back. I had a really good shape base that I modded myself, and it came with some really decent skins. However, recently I bought some high quality skins from Amacci and Al Vulo, and was amzed to see the differences each skin makes on the same shape. Just by changing skins i can almost completely change the look of my avi WITHOUT changing the shape. Good quality eyes also make a huge difference by giving some depth. As everyone else said, get lots of demos and try them out to get the look you want before you buy.

I cannot find this on the marketplace or inworld so far...I am looking for a complete Elektra outfit based on the one worn by Jennifer Garner in the "Elektra" movie. Someone has made her sais, but not a movie-based costume. Does anyone have one, or can they make it for me? This is just an example...i have lots of reference photos, plus more are available online...

since I learned about it, i have been using it...MUCH better than a sandbox. I like the privacy and the scenery. So far every time I have gone there I have seen at least 3-4 other people using it. I'll be sure to tell some of my friends about it...thanks again

I've only had my primary avi for about 6 months, and it has already gone through 2 major revisions from the original. Ver.1 (the default avi that i got when I signed up) got some minor upgrades with clothes and hair, ver.2 got a new shape, skin, an AO, and more clothes. This is the one that I used to practice modding my shape to look more like I do in RL. I also experimented with eyes, face lighting, makeup, and accessories. I was away from SL for a couple of months, but when I came back, i had decided to buy a good quality moddable shape and MUCH better hair. Ver. 3 is not even a day old yet, but is already way better than the previous two versions. I am looking forward to having some fun with this one My motivation was that i wanted my avi to be a somewhat realistic representation of what i really look like. Most of the info I got on how to accomplish that came form the forums here and the SL knowledge base and wiki, plus reading countless articles in people's blogs online. Here's the most recent me...

Just some advice from another newbie...careful with some of the public sandboxes. I have discovered some people testing out their recently purchased items on unsuspecting residents. Sometimes it is only an annoyance, but on occasion, you'll get caught in something and you'll have to teleport out to escape ( I got caught in a cage a couple of times). If the vendor lets you rez on the property, i'd do it.

Hi, just thought I'd chime in on this subject with some of my experiences as a "noob". I actually spend alot of time reading up in the forums BEFORE I even got my first avi, so I sort of knew what i was getting into ahead of time. I found out about the freebies, so I set up my account and went shopping about 2 weeks before I even downloaded the viewer and got to see my avi in motion. the first things I got were several nice free shapes, some skins, flexi hair, tons of clothes, and a couple of AO's. it is amazing what kind of a difference they made over the basic avi. I owe this to great people like you who freely offer ideas and advice for people who are willing to listen. i am now trying to learn how to make my own clothes and to tweek my shape to make it more realistic. Now, that being said, within a day of setting up and customizing my avi, I started getting hit on by at least 90% of the guys who saw me. I admit, my avi was wearing something a bit more dareing than I'm likely to wear in RL, but I find it amazing how guys will act when they know they can't get slapped. Fortunately, someone came to my rescue...a complete gentleman who gave me a tour of some of SL's nicer areas (Lost Gardens of Apollo for one), and showed me how to manage my way through all of the files and controls, even some basic building skills, so my time in Sl would be enjoyable.
