  1. I'm not sure. Making plans has become so difficult in the last two years. My highlights in 2021 were whatever new and shiny arrived from online shopping... for the most part. I'm already feeling like one of those bird species, that likes to build elaborate nests. Just as Maitimo said, I'm starting to think 2022 will be just the same. But I want to try to get back into crafting costumes. I still have two unfinished ones from 2019 lying around...

In SL I will be having premium membership till the end of next year, so I will probably switch around home & houses a couple of times and follow my passion for decorating. Maybe I can manage to visit a couple more Belliseria events.

Maturity ratings exist for a reason and are very clear. Anything else is secondary.

(of course someone could take the risk and do whatever they like and i will report them since they are in an M region. They can later discuss with Governance about their avatar being naked because they didn't want it to have sun tan lines.)

Sure that why i will report them and they can figure it out with the Lindens.

Yes and there are official statements by Linden Lab, that you can be naked. Now I feel like some people here - want - M rated land to be more prude than necessary for the sake of it. And those people should go to G rated land, honestly.

Maybe we do need A rated Belli. Not because M wouldn't provide everything the average private residence would need, but because people.

Thank you for proving my point.

Why are people in here doing cross examinations of those who expressed a wish for Adult homes? Why do people feel that those who want Adult homes have to justify themselves to you? How about "I want one because I want one?" as a response? That should be sufficient.

Seriously, why does anyone care enough to argue against it?

And thank you for underlining my point. So this is a thing not open to discussion then? Unless you are not 100% YEAH GREAT IDEA, WHOOOOO!!! you aren't allowed welcome to comment? That is not how this forum has ever worked at any point. I don't get whats the great problem about just elaborating a bit, when asked a question.

Thanks for being the voice of reason on this once again Sylvia

The only voice of reason is the one telling people to actually consider what M rated land allows them to do. Unless you want to run a brothel (which you aren't allowed in Linden homes anyway, independend of the rating) its really difficult to picture what the great benefit of A rated land is. (From my understanding making avatars invisible from outside the parcel fullfills the general need for "behind closed doors", a Mole/Lindne may correct me on that one, but this is how I precieved it so far.)

Considering this thing here was started claiming M rated land is for prudes and they want an empty parcel.... well...

I'm not against people expressing ideas, but if someone opens a forum thread I do think the purpose is that the idea is intended to be discussed, right? So this criticism of the critics comes a little bit off as "only yes-sayers welcome".

I think the Moles were strategic when they planned the interiors of the modern homes. I think it's intentional that they used the same textures etc across all their themes. Likewise, I don't think they make them inferior. I believe we all had this vision of what we wanted in a modern theme, and they delivered something modern, but it was not the type of modern (these are container homes and look like container homes) that we had in mind. Instead of looking at them for what they are (rectangular container homes), some are upset about what they are not (stick build contemporary homes).

But... they aren't container homes? At least not like Google images shows it.They are just box shaped homes made out of concret with narrow, floor length windows. Container homes (like in those google search images) would have been really cool. Those are all very airy designs with differently stacked box elements, still carrying some elements of their former shell, and wide, big windows and doors leading to the outside. With outside stairs, roof top gardens and terraces/patios.

Edit: Here are some randomly picked examples from the MP of how such homes could look like in SL.

And this is why I've not visited a public sandbox in 12 years.  I learned that lesson the first month in SL.

I used to live on public sandboxes for my first year in SL. I was still in school and had not brought any Lindens. It was actually fine, for the most part. Every once in a while you had someone testing a race car and performing like a first-lesson driver. The only griefing that happened was "generalized", like not targeting a specific person, but just the sim in general and that was usually resovled a few hours later at latest.

I don't have an inworld store yet. The place where I do my creations is lately being invaded by griefers. The problem is that the measurements that you, as user, can do are failing. A user that is blocked, shouldn't be allowed to add/attach/rezz on, near you an object within 5 seconds, especially if that object is being blocked too. Whatever action a person do, the moment he/she is blocked, should not have any influence on the experience of the user who is targetted. Same goes for the object.

So random people are able to rez something on your land, despite setting the lands settings against it? Do I understand that correctly?

What leads you to suspect that since the poster did say they were new and their forum and inworld accounts were both new? Since the poster was on topic the only off-topic trolling I see here is the ones going on about necro posting and since the majority of responses did not deal with the posters remarks, there really was not much need to come back.

Its a general observation. If I would want to engage in a discussion, I would post something of substance and maybe engage with more posts and not yell something into the void and then vanish from the forum forever. But that happens always. "New" people dig something ancient up, post a one liner and then disappear.

Its just weird. (And replying to them does nothing, by the way, as they don't return to the forum after the necropost)

At this point I'm almost certain its an act of trolling for most of these people. Clogging up the forum by replying with a shallow one liner, never to be seen again. Its always like that.

Great to see these back. I've had a couple of embarrassing account names as a result of these of these drinking at selection time. 😛

Only somewhat back. Its now a paid service, for which one has to be premium member. I sometimes think about getting it for my alt... but not for 50$.

What surprises me, is that most people are debating the legitimacy of the idea

Because you are promising the moon, but when asked about your rocket, you dodge every question thrown at you and accuse people of trolling. "Trust me, bro" isn't going to cut it. If your idea is legit, there should be no reason not to tell people about it. The only ideas better not disclosed are those that involve illegal or against the ToS things.

meanwhile they are getting a land for free! It's like: Do you guys want the fruit, or to argue with the farmer? It seems to me that almost everyone wants to argue with the farmer, which is narrow-minded.

But there is no fruit. You are claiming to be a farmer and offering us free fruits, but you can't show us the fields and gardens, where your free fruit grows.

I was hopeing for something more... airy with maybe some decorative elements in darker or lighter wood and different modern stone elements. Its difficult to put into words, but while this style is sort of modern, it feels so... not modern in terms of design?

But if they read profiles, they won't have anything to ask about as a conversation starter, the way some put it all out there.

Oh, there would always be room for a conversation starter. Actually, I think something that builds on already given information can make the best ones. Like someone states their country: Now you can ask further questions about that country as an entry into a conversation.

People who just refuse to read profiles and proceed to ask you questions that would have been answered if they had read said profile

That has always been something, that I found difficult to understand, especially when it issomething that has a high chance to be mentioned in a profile. Like RL information. There is an entire place for that on every profile. One would think people interested in that sort of information would at least take a peek there. But no, they rather ask and don't look at all.

  16. What exactly is tied to marriage, in your mind, that makes the late 30s or 40s "too late"? Because "too late" is usually tied to a consequence of a delayed point in time to do something. Examples: If I arrive at the train station at 10am, I'm too late to take the train, that was supposed to stop there at 9.45, because the train has already departed. If I wait till my 90s to make a world trip, it might be too late, because I'm not in the physical condition for such a journey anymore.

I don't see anything like that for a marriage in your late 30s/40s.

Do you want to get married? Then do it. Or stay unmarried. My parents have been together for over 30 years and never married. I personally would probably only marry for legal and tax reasons... if I was in the position to do so.

Okay, now maybe you see my reason (ulterior) for raising this.  I think Linden Homes is killing Mainland.

I won't have Mainland any more because the 'no rules', 'no covenant', free-for-all that makes any effort you put into making something worthless when your new neighbour can do anything to ruin it.

Isn't that more a "Mainland kills itself"?* People are given unlimited freedom and it turns out some people shouldn't have that, if they are in the proximity of anyone else.

*If thats even true, I haven't seen solid data on the impact Belliseria had on Mainland. Mainland still fullfills some needs, that Belliseria with its restrictions in plot size and pre-established buildings can't cover. Wouldn't it be more resonable to say private sims are killing Mainland? Because they provide all almost the same benefits as Mainland, but without uncontrolled eyesores from sudden new neighbours.

so shoot another fully armed canon at private landlords? ... also shopping in control by LL?...

How would that bring "shopping in control by LL"?  You aren't forced on where you have your shop (if you have any inworld store at all). Is having a store on mainland also "shopping in control of LL"? And if you think thats the case, hows that worse than "shopping in control of whatever glorified middle man plays landlord"?

no home at all in a 1024sqr allowing the whole allowance for 'toys'

You already have the whole "allowance" of prims on a Linden Home plot. The house does not count against it. But if you want an empty plot of land, thats the exact purpose of mainland. Wouldn't be much of a Linden "Home" if its a green field of nothing.

Also its a bit unfair to call "Moderate" prudish. It allows non-sexual nudity and nude art, for example.
