  1. I guess it's my shy nature but I'd never leave a bad review or contact the creator over small purchases. I just figure the ones I like will keep getting my business and the ones I don't well..wont. I've left good reviews in very rare occasions where the customer service or item was exceptional and I wanted others to know. All creators I've seen necessary to contact have been very helpful and approachable.
  2. You were lucky. I had my first run in with griefing objects not long ago. I AR'ed it. Nothing happened. I started getting desperate so I tried Live Chat. They said I had to file an abuse report. Sigh. I file another abuse report. No response. I get hold of the neighbors where the cube is lodged straight on their border but they couldn't return it. They file an AR. Nothing happens. I decide to reopen a ticket about some other land concerns I had, and while apologizing that I contact them again about another matter, I ask for couple of minutes of their time to remove this object...finally this Linden understood the peril and helped us out within a couple of hours of reopening the ticket. Shouldn't have been necessary though, if the AR had worked.

If Rodvik wants to know the opinion of the Residents of SL , SL has enough tools. I can not imagine to Google asking users through a private forum about Google. I'm sorry, but I don't agree. Someone had started a thread there about "if you were a Linden, what job would you like and why?" and that turned into "What do you think the CEO should do?" and Rodvik joined in at that point. To my mind, there's nothing wrong with Rodvik responding to posts in a large and active external forum (certainly larger and more active than this forum) where many of his customers discuss his company and his product, particularly since there's a lot of regulars there who no longer post here, for whatever reason, and where those of us who post in both places sometimes feel we can more frank than can we be here. I was aware it was a thread started by someone else but I am still puzzeled if he really cared to get proper feedback to his question he'd also post it here (SL official forum)..if this is something he actually does wonder about and wasn't just bored at work browsing forums. I was done using external forum when I was way to seriously into some mmo a few years ago. It really shouldn't be necessary to go to one, or twitter for that matter, to read input/feeback or whatever from LL.

  5. It would be great with some proper competition to SL though it wont happen until many embrace this competition at once. If the user base trickles in the first ones most likely will get bored before more join and when later ones join the first have left making it hard to get proper numbers. Many users is the key. Maybe they'll get it trough Facebook. But Facebook will be the reason I wont try it.
  6. There was a survey about Linden homes a few months ago. I wonder what kind of feedback they got all in all.
  7. I so agree with this. Not for myself but I know a few friends that are looking for more options of short mesh hair for men. :catvery-happy: I like mesh hair in general though miss the fluffyness and movement of flexi sometimes.
  8. I have bought long mesh hair that comes in two sizes that takes this into consideration. Though the smaller one still leaves a bit of hovering on me. I tend to go for short or ponytails for mesh hair and I have to say I like the ones I've gotten so far. Hardest part is finding the right shade of red :matte-motes-asleep-2:

People have to be ready to absorb all that tier. Too small a lot can shy people away - but too large a lot can make them think twice. Somewhere in between is ideal. Oh yes I understand that. I was just wondering why they let it just become waste land. It didn't get automatically set for sale this time around while the last time it was abandoned it was. Probably just a bug, but if there's more land like that it certainly isn't helping Mainland adding that on top of the for sale parcels that also don't have builds or landscape on them. :matte-motes-bashful-cute:
  10. I was surprised to see that when my neighbor abandoned almost an entire region a few weeks ago it was not automatically set for sale at 1L/sqm by Linden. It is not set to be auctioned either. It's just there being empty, barren and looking sad. I am pretty sure it would have been picked up by someone if it was for sale as it does border to protected water so it puzzels me why it ended in limbo like that.

(Like not being able to change them nearly so frequently.) Actually, ideally, usernames would be entirely hidden, as in no one but you can see your username. Display names would be slightly more limited than they are now (can't use an existing display name, can't use an existing username unless it's your own, can't change as frequently without a cost) and we'd have a "title" tag we could change as often as we liked, with no limits on what could be put in it. I think this would be the best option now we know they're not going to go back to old style names. There'll be more and more usernames which are incoherent as new users run out of options for usernames or just painly give up trying to find a good one. I consider myself lucky I came up with something that pass nicely for a name. :catvery-happy:
  12. How wonderful of you to have an open day :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2: Gave me a chance to look around without worrying if I looked just right. Really impressed of what I saw. Good job!
  13. I imagined, and I know generalizing is bad, that this trend just were amongst the younger crowd in SL to make sure they're easy to spot by their peers. But I see I was probably wrong as it does seem bigger then that :catvery-happy:
  14. After a week of waiting I finally got a response to my ticket pointing me to this jira.i wish I'd found it sooner :matte-motes-bashful: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-4678? So remember to check search regularly if you have land set to show in search. You might be paying for something you're not getting and it can definitely hurt in-world business.
  15. There are systems out there that will let people listen or view private streams on the same parcel. I have no technical insight to how it works other then it plays on the media stream of each viewer and that it does work (I use a system like that where skyboxes are above parks on ground where I prefere music to fit the scenery). You can even share stream with someone else to listen to the same thing. But it is a bit more work then having media rights on your own parcel. But for a high rise or apartment building the privacy would be a bit of a problem problem. I'd say if you were to make a roleplay community where people live close togheter you could do attached houses where each living quarters has their own parcel. This way they can turn on "hide avatar" and have their own security orb which doesn't scan outside of parcel. When it comes to privacy only distance works when you stack on top of each other and then many still wouldn't rent.
  16. Still no hits in seach for the parcels set for search on my main sim. Sent a ticket on the 15th..still no answer. I guess I wait and hope they'll refund me the Lindens I paid to appear in seach this week. Though I doubt that will happen
  17. I just did a search for my sim and some of the parcels set for search on that sim. None of them show up today. I've not had a problem with this before and I've not delisted or changed anything recently. Was there a jira for this disappearing act type problem already? Would it be possible if the sim was offline at the time search details are refreshed, that a whole sim worth of parcels set to appear in search would not be listed the next day?
  18. cenedraflame wrote: Good morning JL, In addition to the blog link given, I will contact you in world with the landmark of a fantastic sim. Only because I am not sure if I am able to post slur's here in the forum. This lady is amazing in the work she has done, literally every hunt under one roof. Good luck. ~Ceddy~ Ooh I'd be quite interested in that slurl too :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:
  19. I added a new product about a week ago. Looking at my "top searched products" it has not had any hits yet. It might mean noone searches for the words in the title or my keywords but I highly doubt that's the case. Other products have not had any new hits for quite a while either.
  20. I have to agree that in-world shopping in general is struggeling so not having a marketplace store is a challenge as it would funnel a few customers from browsing MP to the store. So that does leave drop-by costumers who happen to be in the mall/sim, click your add-boards or those who find you trough in-world seach. Being able to have a parcel set for search helps too. Events, a pleasant atmosphere and staff might help but try and keep an eye on your costs. You'll be out of pocket for a while until word of mouth gets going..that is if it gets going. It is hit and miss. You also have to think if you have the right products considering what type of people will pass trough the mall. Is the quality right? Is the price right? Some are willing to pay more for higher quality items, they might even know the brand, and choose your store over the mainstore if you have less lag or a more welcoming shop. Others just want cheap stuff and aren't that fuzzed about quality or what brand it is. Also keep track of what the mainstore is up to. If there's give-aways or sales you might want to remove those items for the extent of the event or point your customers there as a sign of good faith (you're not selling them a product they can get cheaper or free elsewhere). Some might take note of that in a positive way. Ideally the creator would include you in a sale etc but that is entierly up to them as it's their products. In the end though if you're not dependant on the shops making a profit and you're having fun with setting up and decorating your store I'd say stick to it for as long as it's rewarding and fun to you. Paying for a shop space might actually be quite cheap entertainment looking at the bigger picture. But I understand it would be nice to get some feedback if you have invested some effort to make a nice shopping experience for your customers and noone shows up. It is though times and I imagine a test in patience. Good luck :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:
  21. Hi. In case you're not aware you can untick the check box in about land which allows people to see avatars on your parcel from outside the parcel. This will also work with a premium home parcel. You can change clothes in perfect privacy unless you let someone onto your parcel to peep :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:
  22. We've expanded our land a bit as more connected Mainland became available. Adding 3 new homes for rent and two commercial studios within a nicely landscaped park area. Feel free to visit us anytime.
  23. It is incredibly slow for me too.
  24. Thank you :catvery-happy: I did notice that just now as I ordered an item off MP a week ago that's not been delivered. So going trough "My Account" on MP I did see all those enhanced add charges and refunds. Now to only match them all up and count them..I do wish they'd make finding information more intuitive. Or the best would be to have more then the order number in the overall transactions :catfrustrated:
  25. I seem to have been refunded the excess charges last week.. so kudos for that. Though still quite impossible to keep track of what was refunded and what was charged :catsurprised:
