  1. How funny, I never even considered putting my avi to bed in SL. I like the idea, and now I need to find a nice comfy blanket to slip under when it's time to turn out the lights. Oh wait a minute - our bed *does* let me get under the covers! I discovered that at some point accidentally I think. Obviously the bed doesn't get used much.
  2. Doing something where I have to communicate while moving things around, whether it be prims or textures or my camera or myself, I hate having to stop what I'm doing in order to type out what I have to say. I absolutely suck at multitasking. This sounds like my partner. It can be so much easier for him when we're using voice to communicate in SL, and he finds that having to stop and type is distracting. I much prefer to type, I like the quiet and I'm able to be much more immersed without voice. I don't mind slowing down and taking the time to think and type, I think that's part of why it can be relaxing for me. With voice it almost feels like my brain is trying to digest two different worlds, and I prefer to be in one or the other - not both simultaneously. So we kind of take turns, sometimes voice, sometimes not.
  3. Success! I got two pair, one from Hoorenbeek and the other from *DL* thank you! Melita, as far as leather sneakers here's kind of what I was talking about, except I hate the gold shininess. (plus they're men's) I'd wanted something that had a nice worn look to them. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Shelly-Laufer-Sneakers-GB-For-Men/1725847 edit: I just saw that this store has women's too - but still too shiny.
  4. Thank you! I'll check all of your suggestions. I'm not sure what *DL* is?
  5. I've been looking for some women's sneakers, and can't seem to find anything that doesn't look glowy or plasticky. I'd prefer dark leather, either brown or black. Awhile back I saw some men's sneakers I liked at Hoorenbeek, and I just saw in the MP that they list their shoes as being unisex but I hesitate to spend the money because I'm not confident about them looking right. Oh - it just occurred to me that I may be able to demo them inworld. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated. :D
  6. The first time I experienced those feelings I was taken completely by surprise, even shocked that it was possible. I have this insatiable questioning mind, and did my best to dissect the experience to try to understand how and why - because it didn't seem logical. I've since let go of need to understand, and instead I just go with it because it's wonderful when it happens. One of my favorites so far was with my SL and RL partner, We'd been dancing at Madhu's, it was one of those nights that you could just feel the electricity in the air. I think he forgot to stop his dancing animation, and so as we were walking home, any time he paused he'd break into some interpretive dance moves. It was one of those things that is so stupid but I was laughing til I was crying. Then we got closer to the bonfire that's by our parcel and noticed that some dance balls were still there from an event that took place earlier that week. He asked me to dance, and I don't know why it felt different when he asked me at the bonfire as opposed to when he asked me at Madhu's, Of course I said "yes', and...magic. Suddenly all my senses were engaged, as it turns out his were too. We experienced the same fragrances in the air and the same tactile experiences, even heard some of the same sounds that weren't actually there, down to the last detail. I remember still feeling glowy the next morning. Anyhoo, here's one of the pics from that night.
  7. I hope I'm posting this in the right forum.... There have been a few instances where I've overheard people using voice chat. A couple of times it likely wasn't meant to be private, but on other occasions, I'm confident the parties talking believed no one could hear them. Either because of the way they were talking about the people around them, or how the direction of the conversation was headed in regards to....erm... intimacy. So now when my partner and I are voice chatting, I can't help but wonder if we're being heard. Is it common to overhear people's private conversations?
