It isn't as much a problem with the meshes as it is a problem with how deformation is handles. Granted, the meshes need work to, but if the deformations were handled better it wouldn't be a problem. Luckily, from what I've seen of the mesh import feature coming down the pipe they are also going to be correcting deformations so it should all get better then. Right now it is just watch and wait.
