  1. 1) Do you offer clothing that is suitable to the type of sim you are running, i.e., bikinis and beach related things if you have a beachy themed sim? 2) Ask some Vendors to put up some fat packs. Fat packs can be very afforable and tempting to buy that some can't resist 3) Put free T-shirt in your club. Or give out free t-shirts every once in a while that are different (some people like to collect t-shirts especially if cool, but make two styles of T-shirt 'cuz most women want a T-shirt that will fit to their curves), or offer free goodies every once in a while to keep them coming back. 4) Research top selling items on Marketplace and then talk to some of the top selling designers if they want to rent a booth from you at a good price say for a 2 to 3 week trial (low price rental) to see how their stuff sells there.
  2. I remember when dial-up was in it's infancy, it was a pain, but look what they have today So, you think I still need an upgrade on a graphics card no matter what. Ok, thanks. I think the ease of use I maybe envisioning in my desire for SL on TV may be far off in the future yet. Cause I need something more or less called "easy to do". If anyone has the time, could they send me the components of what they are using to get SL on their TV in an IM. I don't share people's components with anyone. However, if you feel uncomfortable sharing your components, I understand, even if just in an IM.
  3. Yes, I've had some lag recently and some textures won't rezz (mostly large textures, like floors) not the avi's. But, SL always updates their viewers and sometimes the updates are just great and some are average. SL is like real life, you take the good with the bad and try to roll with the punches. We could be experiencing more traffic because school is out for the summer, perhaps? I don't really know.
  4. About 90% of the time I'm a MARKETPLACE shopper. They have so many cool features for search. For instance you could just put in glitter or pink and find all kinds of things. I love MARKETPLACE. Since clothing items are neither rezzed inworld nor on Marketplace, I prefer Marketplace but would prefer if Marketplace had a wish list so you could store more items and then it let's you move certain items to checkout when you have decided what you want, but I still love it! What I'm saying is Marketplace needs a watchlist or wishlist, sort of like what Ebay has. ETA: For Chelsea, as far as furniture tho, I do like to see it rezzed, but clothing is not necessary for me as it's neither rezzed inworld nor on Marketplace, with the rare exception of a live model in a store. But, I've never bought anything a live model is wearing 'cuz it just wasn't my taste, and to me it's more time taken away from RL than it's worth. As far as clothing or say a magic wand or something like that, I use Marketplace almost exclusively. It rawks.
  5. lol to your post there. Yes, I have noticed textures look kind of wrapped, fuzzy or just weird on SL viewer 2 for about the past 4 days or so. I don't know what it is either. But I did crash and crash report was sent, so LL may be working on it. We might need a forum for V2. I don't know if I want to switch viewers 'cuz I bought some stuff that says for viewer 2. Anyhow, I still had fun with half rezzed textures or blurry textures, and I figure they will get it fixed asap.
  6. There are so many things on Marketplace for free and 1L to 25L, and I've seen lots of stuff that's free or nearly free on MARKETPLACE. Marketplace is not inworld nor rezzed; it's right here on this website; just click shopping. The way to get to the 0 to 10 linden search is to scroll low enough and then hit "see all categories" and then you can search for male items that are 0 to 10 linden, and so on in price. I narrow my search down so much by searching first with the female it gets rid of male 0 to 10 linden things I have no need of. They have incredible searching tools here... click on shopping to try to start searching. I can narrow my search down to getting 1 linden earrings, bracelets, all kinds of things. ETA: Exact way to pull up searching menu for shopping on Marketplace right here on the SL main home page is this: Don't click community forums, click shopping... then marketplace, then to the left side on the Marketplace page look to the left and find "see all categories" this will bring up your pricing search such as a 0 to 10 linden search. Then to refine further; for an example hit the word apparel, then chose "men's" and then you will be searching for men's items for 0 to 10 lindens. And you can even refine your search further and all kinds of way. It's so cool; let me know if you found it. I hope so. An fyi though is that Marketplace sends your items to you the next time you log into SL (inworld viewer). You get your items delivered in boxes. Take all boxes when you log into SL and then drag boxes to the ground (if u have no home, u need to go a sandbox area) and right click on the box and then chose OPEN and then that will bring up another menu of what u want to do such as copy to inventory or copy and wear. When all done and items are in your inventory you can chose take to put it back in your inventory or delete if items are not copyable just to u in case u want to make outfit folders. The only bad thing about shopping on Marketplace is your items won't get delivered if you crash on your SL inworld log in even though it will say items have been delivered from the SL Marketplace. To help avoid this: Don't checkout from marketplace until you make sure SL is behaving and letting you in on your first log in to SL viewer. Your checkout in Marketplace will save your items stored for a long time so you don't need to checkout immediatly. Also, a couple of helpful hints don't checkout from Marketplace and then log into SL viewer at the times your spyware is running or if you haven't rebooted if your computer updating anything and so on. In other words, make sure SL and your computer is working all good, then checkout your items from Marketplace to avoid a delivery failure. p.s. sorry Melita I was not replying to you... I hit the wrong reply button.
  7. I'd recommend Larry Jeans for shorts if you don't want shorts that look like a bandaid is stuck around your bum, though he makes those too. Larry Jeans definately for shorts and he has packs of 3 or more sometimes too for good price where u get shorts, jeans and capris, and he sends updates for sales (just join group inworld; same as for other designers you may like who offer option of join group). Some of the jeans they are making too low (for my taste) and about half your bum is hanging out, so if you don't like it where the jeans are so low, Earth Stones has some cool belts, but you get resizer menu not actual modify with an edit option... though I got a good fit in the belts from Earth Stones, I believe is the place. I need to get back to you on that if you or anybody wants a good belt that seems to fit with any and all jeans, capris, leggings, etc. But if you like your bum hanging out, go for it, or if you don't, Larry Jeans (he has lots of variety for jeans.) There are better deals for Larry Jeans right here on the SL Marketplace website. Instead of clicking forums, click shopping, then marketplace, then click "see all categories" to bring up the pricing search. To easily find Larry Jeans on Marketplace, click the merchant tab near top of the SL MARKETPLACE page here on the web (not inworld) and type in Larry Jeans. Or try typing in Larry Jeans white combo pack and see if that comes up. Hope u find Larry Jeans. I view shopping on SL a bit like RL, sort of a build a wardrobe of essentials such as jeans, little black dress, need at least one formal, and so on. It helps to rename your items too in your inworld inventory, such as Jeans - Black / Shoes - Black Clogs and so forth for easily finding. You right click on the folder in your inworld inventory and then chose rename.
  8. I would so love SL on my TV. However, being not a geek at all, I think unfortunately, I might need an upgrade on my graphics chip in the short meantime. I'm also asking this question because I don't want to invest in another whole computer when this is on the horizon. Technology is evolving faster than the average consumer can keep up with. So I want to keep my costs as low as possible ( and maybe even pass on a new graphics card for now) before I found out more about SL on internet TV and what upgrades and what the cost would entail for SL on the TV. I think I'd rather look into upgrading or transitioning into getting SL on my television rather than worrying about costs to upgrade a pc that can or will become obsolete too quickly. I'm searching google for articles and internet TV sounds exciting but a little complicated for me to understand. I want to spend my money wisely, as I'm sure everyone does. But, I need to understand how internet TV works and what I need to purchase (not including the TV, of course). ETA: In short, I think my current computer is already getting to be clunker and I don't want to spend the money on another computer with this technology on the horizon. So, what is the best route for me to go with my money, since I want SL on my TV? I need help, where do I start and what do I buy to make the best use of my money if I want to transition to internet TV and not spend a lot of money on another computer. I'm a total techno dummie. I'm so sorry but I am. I don't even know how a light bulb works or why it works...it just does. So, if I want to transition to SL on my TV, should I bypass the new computer idea altogether... or do I still need a computer too if mine's getting to be a clunker? ETA Again: I think I'm going to call my cable company and see if I can pick their brain about internet TV and if they plan to roll out some type of internet TV box within the foreseeable future. I think I need to find out info on the cable end what they are planning with internet TV and it's future.
  9. Well it seemed the best place to ask 'cuz it has to be served (for lack of a better word) somewhere, somehow to either the internet or internet TV. I am not any type of techno cybergeek. Where is a better place to ask? And/or, ask to have it moved where u think people could discuss.
  10. Calling all cybergeeks... :) The future... is it internet TV? (that part I'm sure is true, but I'd like to know how it would work.) How exactly would internet TV work? Would it beem through satellite? Would it help get rid of the need for upgrades on things such as chips or graphics cards? Do away with html code? Would it be a lot easier? Have less bugs? I'm curious and I'd love to know how internet TV would work. If it's just routed from a computer where you'd have to keep upgrading chips, I'd be wondering why? ETA: I recall about a year ago seeing an article that said the pc was already outdated but didn't open the article 'cuz I thought it sounded crazy frankly. But I'm guessing now that article was most likely about internet TV. Interesting. hmmmmmm? Thoughts, anybody?
  11. The white (bleep/bleeped) little dots are gone! About all I can is amen to that, and thanks for all the help everyone! /me woots and woots
  12. I can't log into my home... either because the virus grew, my spyware is running right now, or the landlord is in the house checking it out 'cuz I IM'd him just about a half an hour ago. I will be back online this afternoon and I'll let you know what's going on and if the landlord could fix or not by possibly just turning particles off. That's cool there is that feature. It might help or maybe not. Thanks for hanging in there with me through all this. bb this afternoon.
  13. Yeah, I hope he can fix it, too. What is weird about those particles is that when I pointed my mouse at them to try to delete they multiplied and now there are more and things won't rezz completely in my house now. This is probably how that griefer does this... he/she points the mouse at the practicles and they grow, multiply and get bigger until someone's whole monitor screen turns white. This is like a mystery novel or something... lolz. Anyhow, I was wondering if SL could add a tool that allows people to block any and all items with particles? Is that possible and/or a possible solution to help get rid of some griefer attacks?
  14. Hi Trixie, Click open your inventory, and type in the search bar the word "worn" in your inventory. Typing in worn will show you all the items that you are wearing. Now look through all your items worn and see if your shape (for your avatar) is showing up as a worn item. If not, you need to go to the folder where your avatar skin and shape is and re-apply your shape by hitting the wear option of your shape. This happened to me once. My shape detached somehow. I'm not a computer wiz and have limited knowledge, but try that first and make sure u are wearing your shape and that it didn't get detached. I think my shape might have detached from a possible virus in an avatar physics thing that someone sent me free. Were u wearing the avatar physics when this happened? I'm just curious.
  15. Sorry to confuse you Luc, I had RL calling me and had to run out the door. What I was trying to say I guess is that the group cache is your auto return. It returns the items that are set to the group, that's why I got the furniture returned to me that I rezzed when NOT wearing the proper tag resident name for my house, but when cleared group cache, the dots didn't go away. The way my landlord explained it is: Even though it says you only get this many prims, some are set to group, so you really get more than what the land reads. And clearing group cache clears items set to group, such as the items that my land did not recognize because I was not wearing my tag, so it didn't recognize those items as me, the resident. (I wasn't really talking about prims, per se.) Anyhow, I have found my regular cache (yay) and logged off. Now I have to see if I can get those little narly things myself, or I might just ask my landlord if he has another place I can move too while he tries to fix the probs 'cuz my landlord told me this particular griefer keeps getting new alts and even if banned, all that griefer has to do is go to a friend's or relatives house and start probs in our cute little el cheapo houses all over again. Anyhow, I hope they find this person or they grow up one day. I don't mind moving if it comes down to that 'cuz I'd like to rezz without waiting so looooooooooooooong. Edit to update: Clearing cache under preferences did not work. Control + alt + T made a lot of things red and that's seems to advanced for me and it also said I was asking for special permissions when I hit control + alt + T. Anyhow, I think it might be time for a move and let the landlord see if he can get those things out of there.
  16. Oh yeah, and no luck deleting those miniscule little white dots. They move too fast and are too tiny.
  17. Ok, the long story... lol I already tried clearing cache about a month or so ago and got (some) items returned to me because I forgot to change tags when putting (some) furniture in my house. So had to redo a few items; it was no big deal, but little blinking dots did not go away. Now, I don't exactly have a cache that I see in my tools. What I have is called "group cache" under advanced because some items are set to group where I rent, perhaps? Do I have group cache because my landlord told me even though what it says under objects (prims) is not exactly correct. In otherwords, it says I have 120 prims when I really have 137 and am allowed up to 150, but it still will only say maximum objects allowed on land is 120. Could this be the problem... a group cache? And/or do I have another place with just a cache? I'm keeping my prims low on purpose because I didn't want lag in my house. I use my house only for dressing, unpacking boxes, currently trying to make a chim.. things like that. I just want a very low price house to change especially because I'm afraid of crashing when I'm trying to change and then I'll end up naked and/or kicked off a sim. So I'd like to keep my house and keep it el cheapo, but el cheapo sounds like it may have a lot of problems. Could this be true because it creates a group cache? Yes? No?
  18. Yes, it was VERY DIFFICULT to log into my house. I'd crash like 7 times before I could even get into my house to start. However, after a couple of crash reports sent to SL, that got resolved. However, the little blinging dots are still there and after I just did a rezz test on another sim (which worked), I also thought I'm going to go to my house and try to see if I can hit delete on the little white blinging dots, floating around my house. I will give that a try next (there are about seven or so little dots that sort of float around like very, very little stars, so it didn't bother me too much until they blinded me completely that day about a week ago.) The rezz thing bothered me, but I was dealing with so much other stuff and probs, and I just wanna have fun.
  19. Hi Luc, Yes, I think it is in my SL house. I just went to another sim and my avi's top and textures rezzed and stayed rezzed in about 4 minutes or so. See what happened (short version) is someone put little white floating dots in my SL house awhile back, and I thought oh no problem, I can deal with that. Then, the dots one day grew to blinding until all I could see on the monitor screen was a completely white screen, nothing else, and this murderer avi was at my door when those lights blinded me and was trying to get in my house. Anyhow, I rezz on other sims, so I do think me and my landlord have a problem. I had been dealing with a lot of other problems, so it takes time to deal with all these probs. I'm only a couple months old.
  20. I have direct cable, no routers at this time, though someday I'd love SL on my TV, someday. I think I might have a virus in my SL house, though I'm still not completely sure. My landlord has a ticket in and just talked to him this Friday about this problem for the first time, so I guess I'll wait a few days and see if anything comes out of my landlord who currently has a ticket in at this time. But, if it doesn't get fixed, we might have to move and he'll have to redo the whole sim over. I have not tried changing clothes and checking texture rezz on other sims. I'll do that to see if I can narrow it down to it possibly being a virus in my SL house.
  21. Well, some have suggested that but I bought some things that say for viewer 2 and I don't know if they are compatible with other viewers or not? I'm wondering if this is a virus someone put in my house, cuz that griefer was there and I saw the name, and when I contacted the landlord, he said that person was already banned because of trying to murder everyone. Thankfully, I was not murdered or attempted murder, but others were, though this particular griefer was at my door and blinded my whole apartment with a bright light and I couldn't see anything on the monitor screen. I'm wondering if I need to move, but then you still get griefers... and I don't really want to move. But if someone thinks I have a virus most likely in my house where I dress, let me know, it's most likely that, and I'll have to decide if I need to move or not. Or if it does take 15 to 20 minutes to rezz on v2, let me know, cuz I'll just have to deal with it for now.
  22. Hello again, For at least a month or longer, my textures on clothing won't stay rezzed. Now, I have hit rebake, edit shape, hit rebake again, and so forth and then that sometimes finally works, but I'm wondering if this is a bug in the system or perhaps it's because someone who has been griefing on three sims where I live put some kind of virus in my little apartment house? It takes like 15 to 20 minutes just to get textures to stay rezzed on my avatar's clothing. Is anyone else experiencing this difficulty, or is this just the way it's going to be... 15 to 20 for a texture rezz on an avatar on v2 (because I don't remember if I had good texture rezz at the beginning or not because their were so many other problems to deal with and I was fixing up my apartment and not really paying attention to my avatar's clothes in the begining because I was decorating my home. Wazz up with this? Anyone have any clue, or is this just the way it is?
  23. I know u were just trying to help, Jacki. But I thought u and love angel were being a bit assuming in this thread, like voila, problem solved. So, it's just my opinion about this thread and love angel's attitude, especially, not your attitude. I thought love angel was a bit rude, frankly. Sorry, I just tell it like it is. Some computer people think all computer people are like them, and they presume and assume way too much. I'm still buying the sneakers tho. My hud shoes are going in the trash, sadly. And, I had been working with shoeless feet for a month and didn't complain once. I have been working with supposedly mod jewelry (which really is not) for three months and didn't complain once, and that cost a lot of money and it looks awful!!! and is not mod, only detaches on v2. Anyhow, I hope certain advisers can learn a little more graciousness instead of being snide. It would be appreciated.
  24. Omg Marianne, I love, love, love that stuff. It's totally adorable and very affordable. I will be ordering from there most definately. Very good prices and the styles and workman or workwomanship looks terrific and it's very much my taste. A million thanks.
  25. I appreciated the offer Jacki, but only want like one or two lm's because I'd like a chance to search on marketplace first for promos, etc. because a good price is a relative term and I'm not physic....I don't know how much you think is a good price for shoes compared to what I think is a good price, plus their are taste discrepancies between people and so on, and I shop on marketplace most of the time, rarely inworld because there is more info on marketplace. Now furniture I feel I need to see rezzed most of the time, but clothes are neither rezzed inworld nor on marketplace. And give me and others a chance to speak about this because we are the consumers, and you all have no idea what I've been through -- I was shoeless (barefoot avi) for almost my first month on SL. Not to mention I have jewelry that fits at the collar bone instead of around the neck and looks ridiculous, and I have to contact those creators, and it's a hassle dealing with all of this stuff and learning it. Not everyone is a computer geek. Many, like me, I'm sure have limited SL time due to RL, but we want it to be fun and we are spending real money. I wanted to share the 1 linden clogs on marketplace with the other residents because it is because of these great values on marketplace that keep me here because the 1 linden items help even out and sort of make-up for the things I spent real money on that do not work, look right, fit, etc. I guess marketplace sort of helps balance it out, yet still I would like my jewelry I spent real money on too to fit around the neck not at the collar bone area. And the jewelry was supposed to be mod, but all I get is detach option... so not so sure what's going on there... I'm hoping it can be fixed eventually.... Let people speak, lm's and taste and prices are all relative, and I don't want to be running all over sims. Don't be so assuming. Some people like to shop at marketplace.
