  1. Hello. I recently bought an ASUS Vivobook laptop, and every time I try to play Second Life, the viewer loads, but then closes abruptly after a few seconds. My laptop runs the most recent Windows 11 software. I’ve tried freeing up RAM, I’ve tried updating my graphics driver, I tried downloading the most recent SL viewer, I’ve made sure that my laptop meets all of the system requirements, yet this keeps happening. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be causing this?
  2. Hi everyone! My username SoniaStrmmFan. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good spots for off-roading? You know, the kind of place you’d take a dirt bike, quad, or any other off-road vehicle? I need places where I can Rez vehicles. As it turns out, off-roading tracks and courses are kind of hard to come by in SL. Can anyone recommend to me and places where I can do some off-roading? Any help would be greatly appreciated .
  3. Hello. :) I'm looking for a full perm mesh VW Beetle. My friend is a builder, and wants to make a mesh Herbie the Love Bug, so I'm trying to help them find what they need. The poblem is, we need a very specific style of VW Beetle, and we are having trouble findig one. For those of you unfamiliar with Herbie, he's a 1963 VW Beetle from a series of Disney movies. Does anyone know where I can find a full perm mesh 1963 VW Beetle in SL? My friend I both would really appeciate a point in the right direction. Above are a couple of pictures of what Herbie looks like, but you can also just look for pictures of 1963 VW Beetle or Herbie for more pictures.
  4. I felt I should clarify something. I'm not looking to make the car bounce up and down, backfire, and shoot water or steam from the radiator like it would in a cartoon. I'm simply looking for it to be a regular, driveable car made to look like a car out of a cartoon, and having basic car/drive scripts to make it drivable (obviously, otherwise it'd be kind of hard for it to be drivable without them ). I just thought I should clarify. The YouTube video links are simply to offer some view of the car at different angles. If it's an issue of copywrite, it does not have to look like Mickey Mouse's car. Just something cartoony like you might see in one of his cartoons.
  5. Well it obviously doesn't have to do all that stuff it does in the cartoons. It just needs to be drivable is all. I have one someone else built me for L$500 that has all the features I listed, and it's made to just be a regularly drivable car. Trying to make scripts to get it to do any of that stuff you see in the cartoons would be far too costly and difficult. I can't build or script myself, but from what I know, scripts like that would be very difficult to make. So I'm just happy with it looking like one of those cartoon cars. The exhaust counts as particles though, right?
  6. Hi everyone^_^! I've got a bit of a unique project I'm looking to have done. I'm a big fan of cartoon cars, and you don't see many made in SL. So I'm lookig for a builder I can commission to make one for me. :) Not for free of course. I'll be more than happy to compensate whomever takes on the project for their work. Due to incidents with past builders, I can no longer give full payment for the project in advance. The most I will give in advance is half of whatever price it is we work out. Anyway, the project, as I said, is a cartoon style car. :) Like one you'd see in one of those old Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck cartoons and comics. The car itself would have two main colors: Pink for the body, and a much deeper pink (possibly magenta) for the fenders (the round arches above the tires). For the radiator, the color would be gold, and the front and back bumpers would be grey (or silver). The seats would be a light shade of brown, and the steering wheel would be a shade of cream white (or is it cream yellow?). The door handles, rearview mirrors, and frame for the windshield would be the same shade of grey (or silver) as the front and back bumpers, and if doable, a license plate at the front and back of the car that reads "ELSEY02". If you are the one taking this project and would like more images of how a cartoony car might look, please let me know and I will be happy to provide them via email. :) I have several still images ready. For scripts, it doesn't need to have anything terribly flashy, just basic things: engine on/off, seat position adjuster, lights on/off, exhaust, standard manual speed (like a 4 or 6-speed gearbox), and if possible, a resizing script for the car. Just basic car scripts, you know? It doesn't really need to make cartoonish sounds while running, but it would add a bit more athenticity to the car, and I'd be happy to pay extra for that. If anything, at least an older engine sound like for a vintage car or something for while the car is idling and accelerating would work just fine. :) One other detail I'd be happy to pay extra for, if it's possible, would be a patch or two on each of the whitewall tires. The patches aren't something that HAVE to be added, but being a cartoon car, I'd at least like it to have somewhat cartoony whitewall tires. In terms of the cabin, it really only needs to be big enough for just one avatar, but it would be just as good if it could fit two. I'm not expecting the car to bounce constantly or shoot water out of the radiator like it would in a cartoon. I'm simply looking for it to be a driveable car is all. If you are able to take the job, please IM me inworld so we can discuss the project and work out how much it will cost to have it done. I've had some bad experiences with custom car builders in SL in the past, so seeing as it would be too easy to end up tricked or ripped off, I'll only be able to pay you half of the price we work out in advance. Once the car is finished, I will pay you the other half of the money then. I'm looking for a cartoony style here, so it should have a lot of rounded parts and whitewall tires. For ideas of what old cartoon cars look like (if you've never seen one before) please view the image links below, and contact me if you're interested in doing the project. How soon I'll be able to pay will depend on how much it is you (meaning the one taking on the project) asks for the job. These images are just to give an idea of how cartoon cars have a lot of rounded parts. I'd rather not get on Disney's bad side by violating copywrite laws, so if you take the project, please try not to make an exact replica of ust one of the images you see below. Use the images below to get an idea of how one might make a cartoony looking car, and let me know if you'd be iterested in taking on the job. :) Thanks for reading everyone. :) http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8xT7MTdO10c/S5GxJFRFr2I/AAAAAAAABPg/FZqtHHdqftM/s400/Mickey-Minnie-Mouse_l.jpg http://www.limogesboxcollector.com/images/MickeyMouseRedCar2-L0204/MickeyMouseRedCar2-L0204.jpg http://www.merkur-kids.de/images/GMickeyCar.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2391/1627491467_e1ca4ccd8c_o.jpg http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2012/282/8/7/mickey_mouse_and_donald_duck_by_zdrer456-d3ao9u5.jpg http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/83132/1345977636m_SPLASH.jpg http://www.swapmeetmodels.co.uk/images/20120208125640-motorama-499234.jpg

  8. I am aware of this. However, assuming someone takes on the project, I will be making a point that the Chrysler name and logo not be used. That being said, following those guidelines, I fail to see how it would be any more illegal than any of the other cars in SL that are made in the distinct likeness of the vehicle but do not use the actual vehicle or manufacturer's name for the product.
  9. I have no building or scripting experience, so it's possible this is something I should probably already know, but how does a bicycle Mesh tie in with this project I'm looking to have done?
  10. Hi everyone. I have a car I'd like to have made in SL, and I'm looking for a serious builder to commission. When I say "serious", I mean someone who is not only capable of building the car, but who will also actually complete the project. I have already tried twice to commission builders to make it, and the first charged me L$15000, made the wrong car, delayed the project, said he couldn't complete the project, and made off with my Lindens. The second builder began the project, but abruptly stopped it and cut off contact with me. So when I say "serious", I mean someone who is able to take on the job, start and finish he job, someone who won't half-ass it so they can make make a quick and easy Linden, and who won't simply take my money and bail on me. Of course I'll be paying this builder for their services, but only is they are serious about taking the job. Also, because of past events, I will not pay the full price in advance. I will pay whoever it is that takes on the project half of the payment in advance, then pay them the other half once the project is finished. I'd like to pay whoever takes this job the full price in advance, but due to my current financial situation, I simply can't afford to keep shelling out huge sums of Lindens only to have people swindle me. my current price range that I can afford to pay is L$15000 to L$20000. I may be able to go as high as L$25000 to L$30000, but only if the builder can make the car look as much like it does in real life as possible. So if anyone out there is a serious builder who can take on the job, or knows a serious builder I can turn to, please post a reply. I will go over the full specifics of the project with whomever it is that takes it. The project is a navy or sapphire blue 2002 Chrysler Sebring Lxi Convertible Limited. Due to copywrite laws, if someone takes on this project, they most likely will be unable to use the Chrysler name or logo, which is perfectly fine with me so long as the car resembles it's real life counterpart. I am very set on the car being built specifically as the 2002 Chrysler Sebring Lxi Convertible Limited. Meaning I am not looking to have a more recent 2012 or 2013 Chrysler Sebring Lxi Convertible Limited. I am set on the 2002 model. Below are a couple of reference pictures of the car. I will provide however many are needed for whomever takes on the project. Please note that I can't build or script in SL, and that is why I'm looking to commission someone who can for their help. .
  11. The last picture I uploaded was of one of the cars I bought in the marketplace, so here's a custom one I had made^_^. You can't really find any cartoon looking cars in SL, so I commissioned my friend, Aquila Kytori, to make one:matte-motes-smitten:. My friend even surprised me by addeding a picture of Sonia Strumm on each of the doors^_^. And the car drives really well too:matte-motes-smile:.
  12. No problem:matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:. I love the Oldsmobile in your picture^_^. I don't think I've ever seen one of those in SL before. It looks great:matte-motes-smile:
  13. I love getting to take nice drives in SL:matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:. In fact, most of the money I've invested into SL has gone to cars to be honest:smileyvery-happy:. I've lost count at this point. So I can't post all of them. But I can post a few. Here's one I've had for a while. I love the classic look and feel of the car, and it's great for taking relaxing drives^_^. I really like classic cars. More so than most modern ones. So when I find a classic car in SL that has a nice classic look and feel to it or looks the way the car does in real life, I buy it^_^. This car is also very easy to drive and handle, making it a good choice for SL drivers of all skill levels.
  14. Thank you! That's what I'm saying. I've been specifically of the 2002 Chrysler Sebring Lxi Convertible, but I'm fully aware of the copyright laws. I'm by no means asking or expecting Chrysler's trademarked loge to appear anywhere on the vehicle. Or even for it to use the name. If someone takes on the project, they can call the car whatever they like. As long as it looks like the real thing, or as close as possible, I'll know what it is. Believe me, I have no wish or intention of getting myself or anyone else in any kind of legal trouble.
  15. Car's not so I can sell it. And if you look at the cars sold by Haru Motors, you'll see that they're modelled in the likeness of actually cars. They just don't feature the company's logo and go under a different name. Pro Street Cars does the same thing. This isn't a project I want to make a prophet on. The car is just something for me.
  16. I have a project I've been wanting to have done, but have been having difficulty finding a car builder in SL. The project is a dark blue 2002 Chrysler Sebring Lxi convertible. Does anyone know any good builders out there I might be able to commission? If any builders are reading this, and are able to take on the project, contact me here or in SL so we can work something out. I'm ready to provide specifics for the project. Any good point in the right direction would be greatly appeciated.
  17. Hi everyone^_^. I'm looking for a SL vehicle builder. To clarify, someone in SL who builds cars, and would be willing to build one for me in exchange for Lindens. In other words, I'm looking to commision anyone in SL who can do the project I have in mind. The project is a cartoony looking car. Like the kind you'd see in old Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck cartoons and comic strips. :) The body color would be pink, the fenders above the tires would be a darker shade of pink, the front radiator would be gold/yellow, the interior seats would be light brown, and the car would have whitewall tires. :) Those are the essential main specifics I would like to see in the car. The kind of scripts used for the vehicle would be up to whoever takes on the project, as long as the car is drivable and has a cartoonish look and feeling to it. The only specific scripts I ask for are a seat/driver position adjustment script and a script to allow the car to emit exhaust while the engine is on. If anyone is able to take on this project, please PM me, or send me a note card in SL so we can negotiate a price. Depending on how cartonish they would make it, some scripting skills may be needed. Payment will be in the form of Linden dollars, and will be received upon completion of the project. I've always wanted a pink cartoon style car in SL, so I would be really greatful to whoever could take on the project. Thanks everyone^_^.
  18. Hi everyone! Okay, so here's the deal. I'm looking for someone who can build me a dark or sapphire blue 2002 Chrysler Sebring Lxi convertible in Second Life. I can't build or script to save my own life, so I am looking to commission someone in Second Life to build me one. Because I am looking to commission someone, I will pay that person for their work. If someone if willing to take on this job, there are a few things that must be factored into the car; -Car MUST be built as a 2001 or 2002 Chrysler Sebring Lxi convertible. -Exterior/body color must either be dark blue or sapphire blue. -Convertible top should be scripted to be able to raise and lower. -Although this is a given, the car needs to be driveable XD. -Doors should be made to open and close. -Please do not place liscense plate (if you add one) on the front of the car. -If possible, being able to adjust the driver or seat position would be appreciated. -Interior should be a cream kind of color. -Details of the car, both for the interior and exterior should be as accurate as possible (Because of possible copywrite issues, Chrysler logo does not need to be added to the car). -The addition of pedals is not neccessary, however, a driving animation is. -Headlights should be able to be turned on and off. The things on the list above are the most important. Any other scripts and addition functions are up to the one building it, so long as it looks like a dark or sapphire blue 2001 or 2001 Chrysler Sebring Lxi convertible. While I can't build or script, I know that it is long and difficult project depending on what you're working on, so naturally, I will pay the one who takes on the job. If you are interested in taking on the project, please let me know, and we can nagotiate a price. I can pay either in Linden Dollars in-world, or, if you give me your paypal address, I can pay you via paypal. If you would like to be payed via paypal, I will be happy to give my email address in case you feel uncomfortable posting such information in a forum. If someone takes on the job, and needs them, I will be more than happy to supply any reference pictures that may be needed. Thanks for looking everyone:)!
  19. Forgive me if I placed this in the wrong part of the forum. There is one particular car in SL I would love to own; a Sapphire blue 2002 Chrysler Sebring Lxi convertible:) I hate to be picky, but I'm only looking for this car in this particular style and color. I've tried to find it, or any SL equivilants of it, but have had no luck whatsoever. I lack the skill to make one myself, so I am looking for anyone out there who would be willing to make one for me. Here's an idea of what a 2002 Cyrsler Sebring Lxi convertible looks like http://cimages2.carsforsale.com/318501/1C3EL55U51N633074_1.jpg There are only a few specs I would want. As I said before, I wish it to be Sapphire or dark blue, and it needs to look like the 2001 or 2002 model. In terms of scripts, I wouldn't be looking for anything super fancy. Naturally, it would need to be drivable, possibly with say 5 changable gears for speed, and being a convertible, I would want the top to be able to be raised and lowered. So, for scripts, I would need whichever scripts are normally used to make a car in SL move and be able to change gears, any scripts needed to make the car drivable, a script to allow the top to be raised or lowered, and if possible a script to make the avatar hold the steering wheel while driving the car. For coloring, I'd want the body of the car to be sapphire or dark blue, the convertible top to be black, and the interior to be either light brown or beige. If I had the building and programming skills to do this myself, I would, but I don't:( Is there anyone out there who would be willing to take on this project? I'm ready to pay up to L$3000 for the completed vehicle. Please bear in mind that I will not any linden dollars until the 1st of next month (January 1st, 2012). This is one my SL dream cars, so I'll be really grateful to whoever can make it a reality.
  20. Okay. Now I don't know if this is allowed or not, but I'm kinda desperate at this point. See, I'm working on a car in SL, and I really want it to have a fuel system. A script that lets it run out of fuel and a way to refuel the car and a way to check how much fuel is left. I know this is asking for a lot, but I'm looking for someone that can write the script I need. I never have any money in SL, so I'm kind of looking for someone who just likes to write scripts and will help me for free... like I said; desperate:( I'm trying to make the script on my own, but it isn't going too well, so I'm hoping to find a builder out there in SL of the forums that is willing to assist a resident in need. I can sort of build, but not script. I apologize if this counts as begging. I literally know nothing about how to write a script, so I'm really in a bit of a bind right now. If anyone out there can write this script, I would be SO greatful you have no idea. p.s. - Please only reply if you are willing to write this script. Um... I didn't mean for that to sound rude if it did:(
  21. I was wondering if anyone could help me make a fuel consumption script I could use for vehicles? I get how to modify a vehicle, but I can't write a script. I simply lack enough understanding of scripts to understand how to write my own custom one. So, I was hoping I could get some help from anyone out there who can write a script.
  22. Okay, so I recently got a new router at my house, and ever since we had it installed, SL hasn't worked the same way for me. I can login without a problem, but I'm VERY limited to where I can go. I'm able to move freely in a spot called "The Doll Works" without any difficulty for the most part. In that area, if I jump or go into the air, it makes me keep flying up and won't let me stop or control myself. This happens with or without vehicles:( The main issue I'm having is that almost everywhereI try to go in SL, my internet acts up. SL stays open, but my avatar becomes frozen in place. She still moves, but she won't walk or run. I can still look around, I just can't move forward or backward. That and things load very slowly and my internet keeps connecting and disconnecting, eventually logging me out of SL. The internet works fine when I'm not playing SL, but when I try to play SL, the game acts up along with the connection. I didn't have this problem with my old router though. The problems with SL didn't start for me until we got the new one. They took the old one with them, so I can't try to switch back to my old router, and I already adjusted my firewall to all SL, but I'm still having these issue:( Can anyone offer me any advice?
  23. I'd be happy to be friends with you^_^. Feel free to look me up on SL sometime:) I'm always happy to make friends.
  24. Hi everyone^_^! I'm trying to find a TDP chip. I know a couple of places in world that sell them, but I still can't buy Lindens because of trouble I'm having with my card. I believe the chips sell for L$325. What I'm looking for is a different way to obtain a TDP chip than buying one. Does anyone know some other way I can get one? Like somewhere that just gives them as freebies or something? If not that, if someone out there has a TDP chip that they don't want or don't need, could you please message me? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your help everyone. TDP - The Doll Project
