Good Day! I'm looking for a houseboat hull `15 x30 ish in size. I can build the 'house part' (upper decks) of the houseboat. I have tons of mega prims, however the mega prims I have, will give it a look of a flat 'river bottom' house boat. What I like to use for the foundation is one that is curved up in the front and sides; can be flat on bottom and backside. I've looked through MP. *eyes glazed over* :matte-motes-dead: I thought about using a mega prim and working with hemicylinder's to give the front and sides I'm looking for. This Houseboat will be static. The hull can be 'plain jane' i.e. no texture(s). I will be adding my own. Note: This is for Personal use on our 4096 island parcel. Summation: Can someone point me to a merchant/builder for what my weary eyes are not seeing? :) Or confirm/dismiss using hemicylinder's for the hull of the Houseboat I am going to be building. *I'll be manipulating hemicylinders* I think this will work. *crossing fingers* Mucho thanks in advance for your assistance :D Mathurin

Hi Willow! Im not up to date on using any of those, 'anti-stalking-griefer tools' (perhaps someone will reply on this) IMO, two solutions come to mind: 1)AR the griefer (if griefer is around or you see the object) 2) If this were me, I find a sandbox, good for building that has 'no pushing' and 'no damage' enabled. I believe, you can hold down the ctrl button and select each one of your friends and then send the note card. ( in that window that opens up when you hit share) If my memory serves me right, I did this to two people on my friends list. Give it test run and see if this works Mathurin

Is there a way to remove and/or rearrange the 'gestures' in the gestures tap? Im using the viewer 2.6 series. There are soo many gestures in there, that I really don't use nor need. The main one I use is 'AFK' and its deep in the bowels of the gestures. I love to place that sucker on the top of the gestures. (I understand I can find AFK and busy under communication) Gesture tap is easier for me. Thank you Mathurin

Hi Knowl Thank you very much! I feel this story could be in a way all our story's. The 'Sandbox'. The Begining of our SL expereince. Wow lol It did seem like that sandbox was what was safe and 'it' was SL. SL is definitely bigger now and with each new step its getting bigger every day. My companion and myself started in a sandbox outside of Enky's free store? (spelling) That sandbox seemed huge!! We head to the free stores and then back to this sandbox and open boxes and put together outfits. Mostly trial and error. ahem lol O the memories.. *So happy that Tinker was a quick learner* She was a big help! I'm still picking up tips from her! Does anyone wish to share their road traveled? In my short 7 months on SL, a journey that has taken me far from a newbie sandbox to 'owning' land. I thought I share a small portion of this road traveled. Perhaps someone just starting SL may gain from this journey. When my Rl companion and I joined SL, it seemed the two weeks we spent opening boxes and trying on clothes, was getting very old. We started exploring and visiting fascinating places. We found SL was bigger then the sandbox where we spent our time in. I think starting SL with a partner (my RL GF, love of my life) was a huge advantage with learning how to put outfits together especially using the clothing editing tools when our big toe's where poking through our new shoes. Good times :) Then as we left the sandbox and starting seeing what SL has to offer; we felt it was time to have a place we can call home. We looked at what we could afford and thru asking questions and going on searches, our first place was a multi scene skybox. This was the first time we felt at home within SL. Very special moment this was. We were at home :) After a few months living there, we found that the 20 prims offered (which at first was great-every scene in the skybox was furnished) We decided it was time to find some land and plant our stake on it. We put the word out of our desire for land. (private estate land) and after doing a diligent methodical search, we found a community we fell in love with. We 'bought' a 1024 parcel and the fun of landscaping had begun. (taxing at times) A bit later in this same community we began buying other parcels. When we desired to give back to our fellow SL residents, we came up with an idea where folks can kick back and listen to cool jazz while having coffee. Much joy given and received from this. That newbie sandbox where we started was just the first step in the road traveled. We still chuckle how it seemed like an eternity that we were in there. :) Yet, we all have to start somewhere right?! Now we have moved to another region, where we now have placed our stake on a 4096 parcel. We decided to combine the rent we were putting out on 3 parcels and one prim farm, into one parcel that fits our needs. We will keep a parcel in the community we fell in love with. Its like where we grew up in SL. We have friends there and the earth beneath our feet is still sacred to us. Outside of getting new skin, shapes hair and shoes. Oh and a good AO.. imo, finding that place where you will call home and feel the earth under your own feet gives much in return. The joy of learning to build and design while appreciating the beauty of others on the same journey as you; whether they are ahead of you on the road traveled are just starting on their journey 'out of the sandbox' is, priceless. How we all get to where we wish to be, is only limited by our imagination. Its in the process. Much can be done with little in the wallet. We've know this very well. RL before SL. While in SL, explore this new frontier and have FUN. Be it mainland or a private estate, having a place to call home is soo rewarding (plus you can change clothes with more privacy) ;) May you have FUN while having a lot of 'Ah HA' moments that enriches and transcends you into the wonderful world of SL. Im here in SL with my RL Girlfriend. When we are on SL, be it dancing boating exploring or just sitting on a wall; watching the sun setting over a body of water, I am totally immersed with my love. We can see our avis 'cuddling' on that wall, yet there is a wonderful transformation that happens. Instead of 'viewing' our avi's, we see feel smell touch the RL relationship we have *melting thinking of this* With respect to that: I say Im *forgot the scale* just where I like to be with why I am on SL Now with engaging in a convo with others, I have a few inner circle SL only friends. When we IM we chat about our RL day 10% of the time and about SL @ 90%. Grade there would be a 5? Edit: Example: I met a SL'r who is in the same profession as I was in RL (education) we talk a bit about 10% on 'shop' and the rest of the convo with SL. i.e building, events, community stuff etc.. Ahh yes, I can think of two possible situations for this. In a nut shell: 1) There could be a subterranean cavity with 'real SL residents' *Did you happen to see if these people had names and profiles?* 2) Alts * that are pseudo fake SL kind of avi's* That are used for traffic.(placed under a structure (in the bowls) We are drawn to activity. "Somethings happening over there" "It must be a 'hot spot' of activity" Then when we get there. Zelsh. Not 'seeing' what you experienced, these two reasons (leaning to #2) is my inclination. Why thank you Glory for your insight Yes it is evidant that bitcoins and lindens are not the same. This article I found stimulating enough to post for discussion say, like a 'think tank' discussion. Within this article it mentions two points that I thought where valid to talk about (Whether true or false-that is what this thread is for) First point: Article mentions 'Infostealer.Coinbit malware' If there is such a malware for coinbit, could it be feasible for a code to be wrriten for the linden lab lindens or to the linden exchange? (wishing for this not to be feasible) Second point: Article mentions Linden dollar(currency) in respect to the exchange rate/value in regards to another criminal enterprise-money laundry. Both pts mentioned in OP. With regards to second point, here is the paragraph from said article: Any new form of currency inevitably ignites controversy on a number of fronts. The Linden Dollar, a virtual currency that drives the economy of virtual world Second Life, has attracted some of its own bad news--particularly when moves by Second Life owner Linden Labs forced tiny adjustments or even big swings in the relative value of the currency, causing real-world effects since Linden Dollars trade on an exchange for real dollars. Speculations. Even potential unwanted criminal activities-two mentioned in this article. As mentioned in my OP, this article is a curiousity, I thought was valid to talk about. If 'Bitcoins' can be hacked, I pose a question, are there safe guards in place within LL, with regards to a maleware code that could potentaily target the linden dollar or the linden exchange? Obvious on the Client side, we can protect ourselves and be proactive with our own security. My thought with this thread was for a stimulating intellectual disccusion on the misdeeds of others that could potentially artificaly affect the value of the linden dollar. As well as how does the VAT affect the value of the linden dollar as a seconday discussion to this thread. Just a plateform. Neutral in position. Peace

Out of curiosity. *You old timers* would know more about this. If I recall in my readings, there is a TPV (Third Party Viewer) that gets around the 'resident-last name'; enabling new users to choose a last name? I may be totaly off on this. Good question! As you have see in your Bank acct, the 1L was chkn your method of payment. Now where is the $20 worth of lindens. I recall this took me about 20 minutes to receive my first lot. It might vary on fin.institutions? One way to find out on SL is through your Dashboard. http://secondlife.com/ <- sign in and your there. Under account, go to acct *statements* for a PDF view of acct activity with lindens/dollars in and out. Also under acct is located transactions, this shares both debits and credits. I thought to add a helpful suggestion when you buy your hair. I found having what is called, 'hair base tattoo', really help with covering any 'bare spots on your head; that you may (will) see when you wear your new dew. I found a Fat Pack of these at Amaci hair store. (Over 2 dozen colors in this package) The vendor board may show 'women' faces, but I talked with the owner and she said they work with men folk as well. I am here to say, they really do work wonderfuly I have been very pleased with this product and IMO, hair base tats are a must purchase. *No more 'editing and shifting' hair to fit my head* Priceless! It would be the way the NC's are designed unfortunately What I've found is 'stretching' the NC I am writing helps. And keeping in mind, when 'editing' what you've written in NC, where that 'cursed' curser is located. Your Keyboard is fine. Its just the design of how the NC functions. Mathurin

Good question you have there! I have pondered this myself. I wish I could 'zero' in with a solution (perhaps other replys will) I do have a thought. You know how we can place scripted sounds i.e.. animals, water etc.. In multi places on land we own/rent. I am curious if, instead of using the 'about land-sound/media streaming', what about an object with scripted streaming music be placed in each of the 9 areas you desire? *Brainstorm of an idea and very raw* My first con to this concept is: is it even possible (not being a short loop) to have streaming music in a script? My second con to this concept is: IF it is possible to achieve this, I'm thinking how much resources this would bog down. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can revise/add to this brainstorm of an idea or have another solution. I do wish you the best outcome.
