Ok I usually run in Emergence Viewer release 1.5.2 but I have tested this on the latest version of Phoenix and the latest SL Viewer from Linden Labs and its the exact same kind of problem. When I open any SL viewer its slow right from the get go. It takes a long time to type out my name and password and it takes a very long time (around a minute or so) even to do something like open preferences. When I log in everything looks fine even on high settings and the Statistics window shows me with very high fps and a fairly high bandwidth and no packet loss. However things still move so slow that even standing still it takes over a minute for me to see an object move at all. I have tried clearing cache, lowering my settings, reinstalling, going to a different sim and none of this seems to make any difference what so ever. I also checked and all the necessary programs and applications have full rights through the firewall. My specs are below: CPU: Intel Pentium Pro/2/3, Core (Unknown model) (3333 MHz) Memory: 12279 MB OS Version: Professional (Build 7600) Graphics Card Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc. Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 5900 Series Windows Graphics Driver Version: 8.17.0010.1041 OpenGL Version: 4.0.10151 Compatibility Profile Context libcurl Version: libcurl/7.20.1 OpenSSL/0.9.8j zlib/1.2.3 J2C Decoder Version: OpenJPEG: 1.4.0.635, Runtime: 1.4.0.635 Audio Driver Version: FMOD version 3.750000 Qt Webkit Version: 4.5.2 What is really wierd is that I have played Second Life on the same viewer on this same machine before as recently as a month ago. My machine was broken for about a month while Dell replaced basically every piece of hardware in my machine twice before it finally got working again. I have reinstalled everything. Drivers look ok too. The only thing I can think of is that I used to run Second Life off a wireless connection but right now I am using a wired connection, but that should only make it faster right? Are there some settings that I need to change or something like that to run it on a wired connection? My internet runs faster but Second Life runs a heck of a lot slower. Has anyone else experienced something like this and if so is there a fix for this?
