Gem Sunkiller has been playing her mixed bag of music on Second Life since 2012, having worked in clubs, at special events, charity events, as well as as an On-Air Host for both T1 Radio, Relay Radio, and Fantasy Faire Radio. She is always thrilled to lend her voice to American Cancer Society fundraising events.

Understanding Mindfulness - Basic Mindfulness Practice
Wednesday, Oct 7 at 1pm sltJoin us for the first in our series of Mindfulness & Meditative Relaxation sessions that will take place at Hope Haven to help provide tools for cancer survivors, cancer caregivers and anyone else who needs them for handling bouts of stress, anxiety and depression.
The sessions will last about a half hour and will be utilizing audio recordings and some videos, so participants will need to be able to use sound and have media enabled in Second Life for best experiences.
Mindfulness is slowing down to pay attention to what’s going on right here, right now.
Our Mindfulness & Meditative Relaxation sessions will use resources provided Springboard Beyond Cancer and Excel At Life*.

The Shelter was my first home in Second Life and I still go by and hang out from time to time. As others have mentioned, it was always a welcoming place for both newbies and old-timers. I know for quite some time it was my home location and the dressing rooms are where I learned to change clothes. The volunteer staff was always amazing and made it safe for everyone.
It is very sad to see it closing but I am glad that it will become a preserved site, especially the roof top memorial garden for members who have been lost over the years.Thanks to all who worked so hard to make The Shelter such an awesome place for so many years. ♥

All are invited to join us for a special presentation on Lymphedema lead by Tessa Dartel on Monday, September 23 at 1pm slt at the main resources building on the American Cancer Society region.
Lymphedema refers to swelling that generally occurs in one of your arms or legs. Sometimes both arms or both legs swell. Lymphedema is most commonly caused by the removal of or damage to your lymph nodes as a part of cancer treatment.
There are 4 stages to Lymphedema and this presentation will help you to understand the signs and symptoms of lymphedema, and more importantly , what to do to learn to manage it.
In RL Tessa Dartel is a cancer survivor and is a Ph.D., RN and Licensed Lymphedema Therapist.

Seekers of Hope would like to invite you to join us for the Art Show and Auction featuring art and special photos from Second Life's Artists and Photographers, to benefit Relay For Life of Second Life. All displayed artwork will be up for silent auction during the event. Works will be open for bidding from March 20th at noon slt until March 24th. Bids close on Sunday, March 24 at 1pm slt. All winning bids will be paid to a Relay For Life kiosk.
A Gala reception will be held Saturday, March 23rd, 12 noon to 2pm slt in honor of the artists participating in this event.
