  1. That's the key there. What you consider "rude..." can be diametrically opposed to whom ever blocked you. Do as Pam suggested. Post here what you said (if it is chat, block out the other names for privacy reasons) and go from there. Or maybe ask an intermediary go-between to ask the other person ("she") why the block? Maybe what "she" considered rude is not what you consider rude, but obviously, was a turn off to someone.
  2. We're just residents here. Suits come here rarely, so what I say is speculation, nothing more. ...wondering if I would get in trouble if I used to lie about my age when I was seventeen so I could get into some stores... In a roundabout way, you claimed to be of legal age to get into adult shops. Semantics aside, I would suggest you file an AR and explain politely (no embellishment) of your faux paux and throw yourself on the mercy of the decider. Prepare to have your account TEMP suspended and have your driver license, passport etc info ready to me emailed in for verification. I guess either the guilt is gnawing at you or the cat is threatening to go public. Cats do that. Sure, they be off in the corner silently grooming themselves, but they know...they really do. If you are of legal age NOW, I personally would not worry of it. If you just wish to clear up some filing info, then that's between you, LL and the cat. Again, I'm speculating. It could be easy peasy to fix. Why do I have Janis Ian going through my head now?
  3. Ever have a comment you just have to make, damn the consequences? I have one. But since I have had one (1) comment here deleted by the mods (rightfully so too. I went off my meds), it's best I just think of this pic and chuckle.
  4. I look at the standard feet and think of this scene. I give thanks for mesh feet.
  5. You're going to have to be more specific to get any reasonable response. Post here your computer vitals and work from there.
  6. I tried Pussycats suggestions and saw an immediate improvement to my computer performance with Second Life. Fair to explain, my machine was manufactured in 2013, but is still hanging in there, so to my end, the info she suggested was/is still applicable, Sometimes old threads do come in handy.
  7. They may have landed in your objects file or just buried deep in your inventory. One trick I use when doing a freebee shopping spree is make a new folder and mark it with the name of the trip ("SL # Birthday" for example). It will show under the recent tab as will anything I find and accept. I grab a few items and then move them to the newly created folder for future sake, knowing where and what they are. It helps to not have to guess or remember the name of the free gift I acquired.
  8. I peeked at the sellers profile and it shows a pic in their feed, posted as recently as six months ago. That tells me they are probably still active in SL. I suggest you send the seller a POLITE note card instead of an IM. IM's tend to be blocked (capped) and there might be an outside chance they never received your message(s). After that, file an AR with LL and POLITELY explain the circumstances. No embellishing, stick to facts. No guarantee is made nor implied that you will get your lindens back. As Rya said, let this be a lesson learned. You may have to just walk away.
  9. Go to Market Place and type in keywords "middle age". I did so and found four middle age avi's for sale, two male and two female. I don't think one can list a store name here in the forum (can be construed as advertising). Welcome to SL.
  10. Don't ya hate that? When I make a phone call, I sometimes forget who I was calling. I hang up immediately and say oops. I call them back and act like all is cool.
  11. LL can ban if the offender gives the Lab just cause, such as committing major ToS violations. So no, it's not illegal, per se. You agreed to the ToS when you or anyone else signed up for Second Life. Are these members claiming to be Lindens? Do they show "Linden" in their display name? If either is the situation, that by itself is a banning offense to Linden Lab. NO ONE can claim to be a Linden except those truly employed by Linden Lab. I agree with Rolig. I have AR'ed once, a person claiming to be from LL. Just AR these individuals, indicare they claim to be LL employees and see who gets the boot first.
  12. I understand your frustration. I was just tossing that out. I wish you success. I'm sure something will be done. Good luck.
  13. If all else has failed, due to various mentioned reasons, have you thought of sending a DMCA to the legal dept of LL? Send the notice via registered mail, signed receipt requested to their headquarters in San Francisco and clearly marked LEGAL DOCUMENTS. I can't guarantee anything, but it is an option.
  14. Who is this "Jerry" you speak of and this drag queen reference? Two off tangent subjects from your original question concerning a 17 year old (btw, I think was asked and answered).
  15. I understand this might be considered off topic, but in light of the music some here have been brought up on or acquired through the years, I wish to bid Tom Petty a heartfelt good bye and to thank him for all the hours of musical pleasure he provided us Baby boomers and others. It may come off a bit cliche, but we are losing some of the best musicians and songwriters ever to grace our stereos and airwaves. From his days as a Mudcrutch to his Heartbreakers and Wilbury days and his solo work helped his fans escape the drudgery of everyday life and deeply immense themselves to that far away land called the imagination. He may be gone, but he still lives with us along the ways of Jim Morrison, John Lennon, Glen Frey and Jimi Hendrix, to name a few. Thank you Tom. Say hello to Roy and George for us.
  16. No one was trolling you. They were attempting to give you some common sense advice. One nugget that was left out is, if you decide to pursue this in a court of Law, be advised you must bring action (State or Federal) in a San Francisco courtroom and follow the rules of arbitration. I refer you to Linden Lab ToS, section 10.1: "Dispute Resolution and Arbitration". In short "Dispute must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts of San Francisco County, California." https://www.lindenlab.com/tos If the Dispute has a claimed value of not more than $10,000,000, then the arbitration will be heard and determined by a single, neutral arbitrator who is a retired judge or a lawyer with not less than ten (10) years' experience as a practicing member of the bar in the substantive practice area related to the Dispute, who will administer the proceedings in accordance with the AAA's Supplementary Procedures for Consumer Related Disputes. And there is this: 11.7 Improperly Filed Claims are Subject to Attorneys' Fees and Costs. All claims you bring against Linden Lab must be resolved in accordance with Section 10, Dispute Resolution and Arbitration. All claims filed or brought contrary to the Dispute Resolution Section shall be considered improperly filed and a breach of these Terms of Service. Should either party file a claim contrary to the Dispute Resolution Section, the other party may recover attorneys' fees and costs up to one thousand U.S. Dollars ($1,000.00 USD), provided that such party seeking such fees has notified the other in writing of the improperly filed claim, and the other has failed to promptly withdraw the claim. In conclusion, if you seek legal action, you best bring your "A Game" or just walk away and lick your wounds. From what I read here, you have no case due to negligence on your part. You failed to bring up any discrepancies in a timely manner. The Judge will simply toss it (*GAVEL*) and ask for the next case to be presented. BTW, I'm not trolling you. I'm not an attorney or a Judge, though I have RP'ed one before in a prison sim and I have stayed (actually was employed, does that count?) at a Holiday Inn once. Troll hasn't started yet.
  17. And those never have any financial info attached to their accounts. Did I mention NEVER? Usually the group responses are worth seeing these requests.
  18. Yes, it is possible to earn L$'s here. Don't expect to be deluged with L's. You will have to work for them. My suggestion is start at Linden Realms and collect crystals. These can be turned in on site for L$s. There are other ways to get Lindens but the easiest way is to connect either a credit card or Paypal account and buy them. The return is much better than collecting crystals. Someone here can explain it much better that I. Good luck in your SL travels.
  19. Here's an idea, Hack. Have Linden Lab notify you prior to their "unscheduled outages" and you can go play something else uninterrupted. There is a reason they are labeled as such. It doesn't evolve around you but the whole platform. And yeah...SL is a virtual world, it's not a game.
  20. What is an obsessed lovers HUD and how did were able to remove it? I have never heard of one and believe a solution could be provided here in case some other soul attaches it to themselves and want to remove it.
  21. Assuming you are just a basic account, I suggest that you just walk away. It may take sometime before LL "deletes" the registration. Cindy Evanier makes a good point. The account may not be completely wiped from the system, should you decide to come back at a later date. If that's the case, expect a $9.95 (?) charge to reinstate. Take care Pager, in your travels.
  22. A simple question: Just what is a MAC ban as opposed to a IP ban? Is it the ultimate on breaking out the ban hammer?
