But actually, blocking is not really a punishment. Sometimes i ask myself: Isn't there a way i can make them responsible for what they did? Or what if i block them and they want to apologize? In RL we would probably call the police, or maybe hit them in the face... but here in SL (or on FB or anywhere else) people simply press the Block button and move on. But... Why? Aren't those people interested in making others pay for what they did? Like i said, blocking is not really a punishment, and it doesn't hurt to be blocked. I let Karma do its job. But on the other side of this, I have been in Second Life for six years. In six years I have only ever had to block/mute one person. So it makes me wonder what is it about the way that you are living your SL that you have needed to block/mute so many. After all, you are the least common denominator here. To be fair it's easy to rack up 20 blocks in (for me 4) years. If you have bad luck and get rude people you get that. Of course theres also the issue of one person having alts so you have to block all of them as well. really 20 is relatively low especially if your the time to talk to anyone (aka give anyone a chance) then you'll get that. I consider myself fairly easy to get along with and I think I have like 16 muted. (though I might have muted a few by accident when I meant to derender them. lolz) As to the OP. Revenge is sooo not worth the effort. If the person is crappy enough they'll have no firends anyway or get banned from every place they go to so their basically adding nails tot he coffin with there own crap behavior. No need to go out of ones way to punish them as that would take work.

There are still money trees and some of the coin/fishing games let you chase free money. I am really not sure what you get out of collecting 10L over a week though. The need to L$ is really overstated IMHO. I think the time is better spent on a really nice hunt. HERE HERE! Hunts and reading a few freebie blogs is a far better use of time. the 1$l you get from camping for an hour is completely usuless for actually buying things.

If i fly she is in one piece, however when she is on the ground her legs are stucking out the back and her arms are folded under and she is in the ground up to her neck. I just cant get it operating correctly. Please advise? Thanks. Go into edit under the body tab there's a new perimiter called hover. You'll need to increase it. Thisis a glitch that sometimes hover will randomly lower itself so your underground.
  4. Long story short here Time marches on. Yes it stinks that some will be left behind but honestly you can't stop progress and to do so is folly at it's greatest. You will just have you move on or upgrade. It's not a personaly thing we all have against you or people like you. It is mearly that this platform must continue to advance if it is to survive at all and to stop it because the few will be disatvanged is to kill it entirely.

I do know that a friendship takes time to develop, but I didn't even meet a person I could talk with on several days. There were always only short conversations from 30 minutes to 1 hour. I tried many things in order to meet new people, I even joined groups with similiar interests but unfortunately had no luck so far. So Farewell to everyone who cares, because I am going to leave SL. One last thing I am doing is the following (and I hope that it is allowed to do this in the forum): I still have some Linden$ left on my account and I don't want them to be wasted, so I decided to play a little game and the one who wins will get the L$ I have left on my Avatar. The rules: You have to guess the amount of L$ I have on my account and the one who makes the closest guess will win and I will give this person my money as a present. Everyone is only allowed to guess once and every number can only be used once (who writes the number first is the one who counts) This little game will take one week, until next Friday. Then I will give away my L$ and afterwards I am going to delete my account. It took my like 3 to 4 years fto find a friend that close doesn't happen overnight. I geuss if i am to geuss it's 1550$L

Nah no one has actually trolled yet here. Trust me i've been trolled ont his forum. Go look up some of my chats. Trolling is when someone does something like correct your spelling and the call you stupid. THAT'S TROLLING.
  7. I would think it sounds somewhat reasonable. At the cery least at least your agency would be partners with actualy designers so you models would know they at least had a shot of getting somewhere.
  8. Ah yes to this I can agree. It is unclear what "hand made" actually means in sl. Thus why I'm weary of it. But yes it is very loosly used in this and most places in sl I can agree with you there.

What you need to be a neko (corrected): 1) Cat ears, preferably the twitchy kind; 2) Giant cat feet; 3) A large swishy tail; and 4) A lack of dignity and common a sense of humor. ps: I like nekos. They make me laugh everytime I see one. Well, although I am not a Neko, I do have a sense of humor. Your original post had none in it that any one else could decipher even if it was obvious to your self. I'm also still reading "they make me laugh everytime I see one" in combination with the previous "a lack of diginity and common sense" and kinda finding it insulting. It's kind of hard to move away from that original statement. It doesn't read as humor but as a I'm better then you statement. So I'm gonna agree here Perrie and say that it lacked humor to began with and still does. Very bad taste in this case.
  10. TristanMercer wrote: Randall Ahren wrote: 4) A lack of dignity and common sense. Seems like someone pissed in his Cherrios, and probably a cat hater in real life. Very poor judgment out of an Advisor. Absolutely pathetic! Maybe it was the cat that did the pissing?

I was going to say that buuut I thought I wouldn't. lol I think a lot of newcomers like to be nekos is why. One of items one through four above is in short supply, thereby causing a neko shortage. Wow really? A lack of dignity and common sense? Because being a demon/furry/whatever is indective of more common sense? As a former neko I find this insulting. I dressed as a neko because I associate with the personality of cats ( I was generally aloof and liked to be on my own that is) also I thought the look was cute and it was something i liked. Just like you like being a human. Or is the assumption we are to draw here that being a human in sl is somehow superior to being anything else? Because I fail to see that logic. IMO why being something I could be IRL when I could be something fantastical.
  13. Have you tried Catwa. There hoshi hair comes with a bow in the middle (well mine did anyway). https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/CaTwA-Mesh-Hoshi-V2FatPack/4771998 I suggest just buying the white color though and tinting it the color oyu want but...It does look very similar to the more popular poof lolita hime cut hair you often see.

I think since the fad died a lot of people disappeared on top of that because it did become a fad a lot of people who WERE nekos got fed up and changed to something else. I sitll see them from time to time but not as often as I used to. I myself used to be a neko even had my avie included in the neko retrospective project in 2011 which was a fun one. me as a cyber neko, neko retrospective I'm more often a demon now but every so often I'll still go back to neko.I just feel like that's not "me" any more because I've changed a lot as a person. For me my time as a neko represented a more "pure and innocent" me. I think that this sort of thing may have happened to many as well. But as a former neko to a new one I'd love to talk to you so feel free to message me anytime.
  15. I only PRAY this helps the horrible framerate drop I've been getting lately with rendering avatars. It was only once they introduced the new SSA code (unused) that I started getting this extreme drop in framerate tot he point where everything jerks to a stand still (and sometimes freezes my viewer). I'm thinking it was a conflict with the code but I'm not sure. But it's deffinatly since SSA code was added for sure. It's not like I have a complete crap computer either. I have a low end gaming dell desktop with 8gigs of ram and viewers set to low medium sooo doubt it's that. If anyone has any ideas though I'm all ears.

I think I've more then proven my point that you are a arrogent troll with nothing better to do then put others down in order to make yourself feel better. I've seen you do it numerous times and it's sad really. I think there's really no need for me to continue here as I've said my peace and you've only proven me right. It's also though valid that someone who is selling shapes should perhaps knwo something about actualy proportions if they plan on selling it as they are billing them selves as at least slightly "an expert" over someone else. Tot he person who meantion proptions differ. This is true but often the proportions were seeing on SL are so wildly out of the normal realm of variation as to be almost comical and ridiculous. Unless of course they were going for a more artistic look I suppose.
  20. Sorry lost this post for a while. The alpha layer is obviousally solid on your targa file thus why the background is white. You can alter the alpha layer on the targa in photoshop it's just in a weird spot. The alpha layer is not a layer but a channel you create. Here's a tutorial. Since you meantion photoshop I'm going to assume your using that. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-use-Photoshop-to-Create-Textures-With-Alpha/
  21. Pie Serendipity wrote: Madeline, with every post you make you are confirming your humiliating lack of self-awareness of your own capabilities. Your semi-literacy means that it would not be possible to conduct an "intellectual" discussion with you. You are also, indirectly, confirming the point of my first post in this thread, which represented the potential initiation of an intellectual argument, although now I realise that anybody with enough intelligence to understand my position would recognise that my position is irrefutable. Let me reiterate that I don't use a spell-checker because I don't need to do so. Spell-checkers are for those who recognise their weaknesses, who acknowledge that to have their arguments taken seriously they should present them in a literate manner, and who have sufficient concern for their readers - whether the agree with them or not - that they take the time and make an effort to ensure that their posts do not insult the reader unintentionally. I recommend the free utility After The Deadline, which is not only compatible with most sensible browsers, but is also compatible with the SL Forums, and has a comprehensive range of spell-schecking and grammatical tools available for a multiplicity of languages in addition to English. It is what I use when I write in languages other than English. May I also point out that it was not me that brought "religion" into this thread, nor have I introduced any other worthless fantastical concepts. You only further to prove you are a troll by questioning my intelligence. It does not and HAS NEVER added anything to any debate other then to start arguments. Weither you like my spelling or not has nothing to do with the debate at hand. a debater who does so properly does not insult there fellow debator weither they believe the are intelligent or not because it simply adds nothing to the conversation. If anything it only serves to prove that you have low self esteem and a desprite need to prove yourself "Better" then others. Creating gramatical errors in a casual debate is neither insulting to the reader nor a refelction of my intelligence in the least. If I were to be writing an essay then yes spelling would matter. But last I checked this is the second life forums not a scientific or literary article for a magazine or college that is up for peer review. I am aware of my weakness in spelling thus why I spent much time both reviewing and having others check my essays when they were going up for review by college professors. Do you honestly think that I would have recieved a bachelor's degree of any kind without being even mildly aware of my penchent for bad spelling? If so you sir are sadly mistaken. However I do not and WILL NOT waste time spell checking everything I say on a FORUM that is filled with CASUAL conversations. Miss spelling do not equal semi-literacy at all. I assure you that I am MORE then barely able to read and write. I have clearly read everything you have said including this and all attempts to insult me and my intelligence. Let me reiterate that I do NOT spellcheck because this is a forum where CASUAL conversations take place. CASUAL. Either you don't know what that is or your to full of yourself and arragent to realize when it's going on and frankly at this point I can not tell which is true. There was no "potential initiation or an intellectual argument" as fromt he get go you basically insulted me. If you really want a debate then you would not have done so you would have skipped that and argued your point. Insulting me made your "intellectual arguement" go from a debate to an all out brawl instantly. Also your point is FAR from irruftable. I have pointed out an example of a translation that overcomes at least some of those issues. Other people have also debated you. Your point that translations are worthless is FAR from irrufutable. While they may not all be completly accurate representations of the story or the culture they do in fact add a lot to the understanding of another culture and help portray a story that was told. It is far more valuable to have even a little understanding of others then it is to have none at all. Thinking that your ideas are "fact" is arrogent at best. Pie, with every post you make you are confirming your humiliating lack of self-awareness of your own insulting arrogence and confirming your apperant need to put others down in order to bolster your self esteem. You see the diffrence between you and me. The one that shows that I am intelligent is that I do not look down upon others for petty reasons. I can distinguish between a casual conversation and a peer (and by peer I mean other authers/scientists/people in the field of debate) reviewed debate or article. I also do not think you are unintelligent merely a clever troll with low self esteem and nothing better to do then put others down for less then perfect spelling a casual conversation. And while I think you for your spell checker suggestion as I'm sure it will help make things easier for me while writing emails to business and other such things I will not spell check all this. Not because I do not know there will be mistakes (because I do know that) but because I will not bend to the desires of an internet bully and spell check a casual conversation/argument.
  22. Storm Clarence wrote: Either we are reading two different forums or your translator is broken. I did NOT read Pie's first post as an attack or as a troll; nor did he call anyone names. It was YOU who came out swinging at him. It is too bad that you seem to be in the habit of posting to the poster and NOT the post. To me, you trolled this tread; and your ignorance was manifest whilst doing so. Ooookay let me point out all the ways he tried to imply he was more intelligent and I stupid. 'Cause apperantly I need to for soem reason. "Given your own failings (as are partially highlighted here) I can not even be assured you have understood my original post, nor would you be able to appreciate this post;" What is this other then an attack on my intelligence meant to imply that what he had said was somehow beyond the scope of my understanding? Please explain to me how this is NOT insulting? "Madeline Blackbart wrote: you aren't more intelligent then I I love it when that happens." Again the only prupose of this is to insult my intelligence and nothing more. "I don't use a spell-checker, ever; I don't need to, especially not to interpret non-existent instructions from an artificial construct of authority fabricated by a bunch of power hungry lying manipulators to keep the great unwashed in their place." Not to meantion his attacks on religion which have nothing to do with both the Original post nor the topic at hand. You will notice that I had infact began with replying to the topic at hand only to stop when I had my intelligence questioned and insulted. I refuse to not defend myself against a bully masqurauding under guise of "intellectual debate". One does not spellcheck and insult someone else they are debating with in order to call in to question there intelligence during a debate. This is not and never shall be a legitimate form of debate. On top of this if you knew this person from previous posts you would know this is not the first time that they have done this nor the first time I have had to defend myself against them. So the problem here is you either do not know what insulting looks like or you can't tell a real troll when you see one.
  23. Poenald Palen wrote: Yes, but I think what they mean is people using premade stuff and just sort of repackaging after changing the colors or putting in some scripts, but I am not sure. As far as 'hand made' goes I see people say this about photoshop, but photoshop does exactly what a 3d software may do and has lighting (they move around a lighting thingy to say where the bulb or emitter is at and are not painting that stuff on there!) effects, AO (maybe) and this stuff is generated. They may hand sculpt the stuff in Zbrush or something else (anyone can try thier hand at this and produce commercial goods, if good enough, buy using blender or another 3d modeller to make the basic shape quick and then sculpt it quick in Sculptris) and it does take time. I think this is the distinction, some are just buying premade stuff and adding a bit or just scripts. It is legal, but historically the marketplace was the best place to find templates for lcothing and then sculpties. Now, I imagine mesh full perms stuff are mostly all on the marketplace. I have to say though, charging more and selling full perms in world only may make the stuff much more desirable for some people who buy full perms and sell them with little modification. Those ones might follow the same route as the person making the full perms, and the same for those who like the marketplace website. They understand it, so they work that place they know? Just a hypothesis I suppose, but yeah there might even be prefabs in world but if they are from a obscure source you may not know anyway. I am not saying it is easy, or that most of the market is made up of template and prefabs. But, I think this is what they mean by "machine" so I don't know. Some use software generated cloth simulation instead to make the bulk of the wrinkle and folds in thier clothing, they are also saying 'hand made' but ironically, this is half machine made really. Work is needed to clean it up, fix a few bug or glitches and overall make it work for a moving avatar. But, people may think they hand paint all the dark shaded area around the edges, nope. They sculpt each wrinkle. nope. 'Machines' do it and they are seen as genius or amazing artists/sculptors lol. Once again, it does take work even with software generators. Yes but it's all machine work Even sculpting in Zbrush the machine is doing the work. Also I've found that these ones sculpted in Zbrush are waaay to high poly for there own good. Having made the texture in photoshop doesn't really make it less generated by machine as your still using filters and such to achieve effects. Also most of these "Handmade" texture places I've seen do in fact use template. It's really not bad to use templates either honestly as long as your actually ADDING to them and not just chaning color. So I really stand by my saying there is no "handmade" in second life and that those "handmade" items are of the same quality and equally "handmade" to those that do not carry the label.
  24. Storm Clarence wrote: Madelaine, you seem not to be only a troll, but an ignorant human, as well. PS I spelled Madeline incorrectly for emphasis. Not in the least am I. I feel he is a troll and ignorant not for his disagreeing with the ability to translate things understandably but for his constant desire to put others down through spell checking them and then insuating that they are somehow of lesser intelligence. This habit in fact does imply both a human being who is not very confident in themselves but also a bully. having a diffrent opinion is fine as long as you can back it up which you did. But insulting someone over spelling and implying they're of lower intelligence then you is extremely ignorant and most definatly a form of trolling and bullying and so far that is allt hat pie has done if you had actually READ any of his comments. So I assure you I am not ignorant nor a troll for telling someone off for being a bully. Also you may spell or misspell madeline however you want it does not make me ignorant nor does it prove your point that I am.

Most of the issues go away with a very simple proportion test: - Make your armspan as wide as you are tall - Made the middle of your total height your crotch - make yourself about 7 heads tall Make your hands about as big as your chin to forehead Make your feet when barefoot as big as your forearm Easy was to do this? Take a prim and wear it on avatar center and move it to your crotch - right in the middle of your special spot... Stretch it to the top of your head OR the base of your feet. Now adjust your height until you fit perfectly inside an that prim is still attached and located in the same spot. Get in a T-Pose, and your fingers should touch the edges on the sides, or your arms are too short / hands too small. - ANYONE can figure out this basic stuff. But I get that not everyone is an artist. HOWEVER, if you're going to charge people money for a shape you make, you had better sell them something worth buying, and have a duty to your customer to do these tests and corrections for them... Now if you want a more detailed guide to getting all the details right, I've got on on my blog linked in my sig... =There is no excuse for what we see in SL... This EXACTLY! I typically don't do these test actually because A I give my shapes away free and B I've been studying art my whole life and can just eyeball it. But honestly if your gonna sell it for a price you aught to do these things (or have a college degree in art if you ain't gonna do it). I mean even if people could just do a simple study in anatomy before selling a shape would be good and probably improve a lot.
