That's a great improvement. I think the background is a bit busy making the text hard to read still. But the photos are lovely. Glad to see the blogger takes his readers suggestions into consideration! That's a great sign! I think this may be a good blog to watch. However I still suggest just editing the old forum post when you have a new blog entry instead of making a new forum post each time. Your post will come back up if you post a new comment to it. But people do get annoyed when you post a new topic every time you make a new blog post.
  2. I think maybe they mean they want to teach to students who are english speaking...not nessicarily teach them english. And maybe role players that age range not really kids. It's hard to say though since there english is deffinatly broken. I'm thinking there hoping they'll improve there english skill through teaching RP in SL. That's my best geuss.

It's hard to find a free house sadly. Unless your lucky and get a good friend. Still having ahome isn't everything. If your homless you do tend to get out and explore more then if you have a home.
  4. Bree Giffen wrote: Uhm... are we supposed to critique your avatar or something? Or simply bask in your magnificence? :matte-motes-sunglasses-1: It's obvious that we are to bask. Can you not see the pure perfection? The glory we are beholding is beyond magnificient. You mear mortals could never understand.
  5. Typically from what I've seen the video rental place will give you a TV and a "cable box" for free. They'll have of course more expensive upgraded models that have like TV channels as well but you only need the basic tv if your just watching the rented movies. It's fairly easy to set up with instructions provided. The thing is you either need to be the land owner or have it deed to the group for it to work. I used Tramp Movie Rentals. They have a decent movie selection and weem to add new ones. The customer service they provide is very good as well. I had an issue setting it up (I didn't deed to group) and sent them a message they responded the very next day attempting to help me. So I do suggest them. Keep in mind since these are streamed through SL depending on various factors most of the time the quality will be less then amazing. Watchable for sure but not HD by a long shot. Also if your interested in just watching movies in SL with SL friends there are also various movie theaters in SL that play diffrent films including Machina filmed withing SL itself. These are fun to go to as well:)
  6. I personally have never figured out how to mod the prims on the anthro avies since creators dont have readily available textures. Your only other alternative is to hire someone to make it for you? this can get expensive though since it takes a good deal of time.
  7. Shelby Silverspar wrote: Ok, maybe 'small' was the wrong word. I think your photos should showcase the fashions more than the avatar - your photos are large when clicked, but mostly empty. You could get better usage of the space by using more close-up photos that show detail, or maybe several poses, front/back, within the photo. If you want to catch my attention so I will actually click on the photo you have to show me a little more than what I'm seeing so far. You say you are promoting photography along with fashion blogging, so better photos are in your own best interest. You asked for opinions, that's mine. And the music is very annoying. This I can agree with. For the time I was on the site (not long...MUSIC) I did notice the photos looked empty aside fromt he avie. If even the background was more interesting I think it would add to the photos more. If the music was removed I could add better artistic crisism though but as it stands I can't stand to be on there for to long because of the music.
  8. I have a beautiful skybox by [ba] that's mesh. The inside is lovely and it has a view outside the window that's 3d so it looks like it's a real apartment. land impart is 30. I think they sell full homes as well. All really nice stuff. The one I have is the haight apartment.
  9. I think for what your looking for your going to have to put money into second life. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Furry-Dragon-White/5317025 and buy an avatar like this. Once you get it you may need to unpack it but you can just wear the contents after it's unpacked. If your not comfortable putting real life money into second life (and most new players are not) then I suggest trying other avatars first. This is a free furry avatar starter kit. Not sure if it has the type of furry you want but it might be a start. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Vespias-Furry-Starter-Pack-Male-V3/3529166 TBH most of the tfree furry avies I've seen are older or not of great quality. But perhaps a furry would know more about this then I as I only collect some and am not a full time furry avie.
  10. NeskoFlash wrote: the blog is new but they understand it? Donald is a new design and creation or the music is so **bleep**ty or loud? I do not like their attitude is? I'm not sure what your trying to say here. If you want to communicate with an english audience you may need to word things clearer? Perhaps you should consider writing in your native language instead? The music is annoying. PERIOD. I seriousaly can not figure out why SL bloggers think this is good. I really can't. I'm not being a bi-tch here either. People HATE music auto playing when they go to a page. Here this page sums up the reasons music on a webpage is bad. http://lorindawebdesign.com/bad_website_ideas.htmlIn fact let me paste what they say for you. "The only exception would be websites created for musicians, entertainers, or multimedia-based sites." ( Note: YOU PAGE IS NOT ONE OF THESE EXCEPTIONS) "Background music was popular a few years back, but now it's the sure mark of an amateur. If you're still not convinced, here a few legitimate reasons not to have music on your site: Copyright Infringement - Unless you own the rights to the music, you run risk of being sued for copyright infringement. Slower Download Time - Music files are large and they cannot be compressed. They make your pages load slower and use up valuable bandwidth. People Have Different Tastes - What sounds good to you may annoy or offend someone else. Your website should be geared toward a wide viewing audience. Read what other professional website designers say about music on websites: Matthew Inman and Alcan Gulez" -lorindawebpagedesign.com Yes your page LITERALY loads slower for me and other people. It has to take time to load that music app. Then when it does load it conflicts with the music I (or the user viewing your page) has playing at the time. THAT IS BAD! Do you really want your reader to have to wait extra minutes to load your song and then hunt down the application so they can stop it BEFORE tehy read your page? You might be able to get away with that if your well known and people know they want to read your content but if your just starting out people don't know if it's worth that extra effort. This means there more likely to leave instead of sticking it out. Your in essence chasing away your readers. Seriousaly if they blogger is new to blogging (and apperantly webpages and the internet as a whole apperantly) then perhaps he should consider taking advice when it's given. As to the pictures being small I disagree with that poster simply because you do have javascript in place. However how that holds up when javascript is disabled....I dunno. Edit: Also please stop posting your blog link everytime you make a post. You only need to do it once on the forum people can search for it if they want to here. If oyu want to post your every post I suggest using a appropriate means for that such as flicker.
  11. Lisette Seranno wrote: The best thing to do is get a skybox or land that has privacy and security. There's all kinds of weirdos on sl, I've had people Rez into my house, but security bans them after 10 seconds. Also you might want to turn your rlv off. I read somewhere viewers like singularity come with it enabled. I don't messed with things like that because people can do some pretty messed up things to you with it enabled. I keep RLV on constantly and have it on auto accept. While I do almost expect something like this to happen to me...and frankly if it did I might play along for fun....yet it has not. This would probably be because I tend not to frequent places or join groups that people like that hang out at. So where you hang out helps a lot. @ OP have you considered joining groups that teach that sort of stuff. Like how to use RLV and so on? Theres teh adult hub has info. There's plenty of places with interesting books. I myself am not into bdsm outside of second life but I find it interesting and the libraries in SL informative. I think also the community does seem willing to talk to new members so finding a group for that may be helpful.
  12. Not nessicarily true. Many games have mods objects (skrim and sims1 2 3 are a few come to mind) made by users. Granted all or almost all of those are PC games...but it is possible especially if gta v ever gets ported to pc. Still Probably even then it wouldn't be a new second life.
  13. Interesting link. Yes having a bot deffinatly has advantages over a mesh manquinn. At least at this point in the game.
  14. Amethyst Jetaime wrote: Not everyone likes mesh clothes or can even wear them if they do because they don't fit their avatar. I like them but I still wear a lot of my system clothes too. Mesh clothes are not the be all and end all of clothing. They are just another option. As far as who uses them, open your eyes and don't be so blinded by what fashionistas tell you to think. There are plenty of people still wearing system clothes. In fact a lot of lola clothes are still system layers. They are also still used to layer under mesh clothes. A new avatar would not only mean a new exterior surface but new bones too and that would make all the clothes, including current mesh, and most avatar accessories and components obsolete. It would also break a lot of content other than clothes too. Current animations would not work on so all the AO's , Furniture, dance huds, vehicles or anything that uses animations would break. I think a lot of people would leave SL if all of the sudden most of their inventory is worthless because they don't want to start over. You may have lots of RL money to spend on replacing most things in your inventory but most people are not going to be willing to do that. You also won't have much new stuff to pick from a long while as all the merchants stock would be obsolete too and creators would have to start from scratch. As far as having two avatar meshes to choose from in your library, if it were that easy I think LL would have done it long ago. False. You can place any avatar mesh on the current bones set. In fact this is how rigged mesh is created.
  15. I will admit I am a horrible person with this. I were upwards of 200 scripts or more at a time. To be fair they general seem to be well written scripts and come under the 2mb of run time or so... I think one needs to consider more then just number of scripts but quality. As one script that's poorly written can be as laggy as 10 or more.
  16. Would be because the makers of Lolas products generally seem to not give a crap about there customers. The other brands at least provide free script updates. So yes very much like LL.
  17. WELCOME to the second life marketplace where EVERY search term secretly means you want a new set of genitals.
  18. You probably only need to post the link to your blog one time thanks. I think we're smart enough to figure that out posting it a million times doesn't make us more anxious to go there. On top of that PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remove the music. I was on that page literally 5 seconds until it started playing. I don't know why people with SL blogs think that's a good idea. There's a good reason people stopped doing that in the 90's on webpages at large. the reason is IT IS ANNOYING. I really don't like being forced to listen to your music BLARING over my own. thanks but no thanks.
  19. I was thinking the same especially if they're hoping for someone who knows something about how there products are made and used....you know some one useful. lol
  20. There is no tango 2.5 there is only tangos and 2.5 I think you combining the two. I'm not sure what you want to do here then. Doy ou want to convert a tango to a applier that works for 2.5's? If so you need the converter here: BBBF headquarters (sorry can't remember exact MP link to it I know there is one but it's also in world sooo there you go.) If you bought an outfit with a 2.5 applier and want to use it on a tango boobs well frankly your SOL. Tangos take tangos only. Vstrings and Iboobs take everything pretty much but tangos are limited in the number of appliers they take only to tango appliers.
  21. Yes i suppose I should have been more specific. But I think my point remains that is is possible just not practicle to create a mesh maniqeun. Sicne if you have the textures for the layers you have it to apply to other things.
  22. It's a combo of both really. Not a fan of the look myself the lips are a bit duck faced but to each there own. lol Still the narrowness of the jaw is deffinatly sliders adding a bit of concav-ness to the checks would help as well. though some of that stricking check is skin. It hink it's also more forhead heavy so moving the slider to make the forhead larger will help. The lips is part slider part skin. Making the lips big on a skin with large lips will give that effect. also making the eyes small and narrow and far apart will give oyu that look. IMO there a bit to far apart as there more the one eye apart which is what they should be at. Keep in mind you might not be able to get that EXACT look as the pictures face is deffinatly shopped. Sorry don't know the exact names of the sliders but hopefully this gives you some idea.
  23. yes but some mesh things CAN take the LL clothing textures (not the clothing itself) IE lolas tangos take shirt layer top TEXTURES. So if it was using that uv it could use the texture designed for it. You would have to do what lolas do and make multiple meshes over the original using the LL UV to place the alphaed texture on. so I suppose it wouldn't be one mesh object but many technically. Still I think it's doable...but not practical as you'd save prims by just using a bot maniquine that could wear the shirt and pants layers immediatly instead of having a mesh object with all those layers.
  24. Well you could if you tookt he time to insure the UV is the same. Not sure how to do that though.
  25. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the fact there are more US players utilizing the server at that time. Since night for you is in fact day time in the USA.
