  1. Granted. They are all now piling into your house for a party, and raiding your fridge. I wish coronavirus would just spontaneously dissappear.
  2. The crux of the matter is the one that I've bolded above. Maybe the real answer is that if you're using SL as soft RP or hard RP, you're better off not getting into any serious non-RP relationships at all. However, emotional connections are unpredictable and can happen without warning. If you with your male character are taking the soft RP approach, and the owner of the girl character is doing the same, then it likely doesn't matter, and she probably wouldn't need you to disclose your RL gender. Likely she would not mind if you did disclose and revealed that your RL gender is different. However, if she is "No-RP", then she almost certainly would want/need to know details about who you are in RL, including your gender and age, and be sure that these things meet her expectations, in order to feel safe and secure. It's really only ever the "No-RP" people who need to know these things anyway. There isn't any "one size fits all" rule here; you can't say that everyone should always disclose or everyone should never disclose, or everyone should only have an avatar of their real gender, because there are as many people who don't care as there are people who do. And even as an individual, it's not dependent on your opinions, it's dependent upon the opinions of the person you're getting involved with. If they need you to disclose, then you need to decide whether to disclose, or lie, or break off the relationship. Whichever option you choose in this particular instance isn't necessarily the same one that you'll choose next time, because the next person you meet may approach SL differently. The important thing is to discuss, early on, whether the other person approaches SL with the same mindset as you do. From this information you can make a better-informed decision on whether to disclose or not. If she has a very different approach from yours, the relationship is almost certainly doomed from the outset anyway.
  3. Oooh, this is a good idea. Single standalone regions, not connected to the main grid (for business security), already "furnished" with a basic tutorial area and a simple office building, conference rooms or classrooms. There'd be little or no lag, and even the cheapest business computers could handle that.
  4. I think I fall somewhere between Soft RP and No RP. My avatar doesn't look anything the way I look in RL, and it changes frequently, but regardless of the avatar I'm wearing it's just a costume, not a character. It's me in fancy-dress, not me on stage. That said, I don't really mind which way other people play it. I interact with everyone based on the avatar they present; for example if someone has a female avatar in SL, I'll use female pronouns for them, unless they tell me otherwise. I do talk about my RL, I'll happily talk about what I'm doing at work or in my spare time, I'll talk about my family etc, I'll talk about RL politics or whatever. I don't usually share much about what I look like in RL though. It's simply not relevant here. And I definitely don't care what other people choose to share or not share about their RL. I have one friend who shares everything, he sends me RL photos on a regular basis, and I know enough about where he lives that I could turn up on his doorstep if I wanted to. That's not my approach but it's his, and that's fine. I have other friends who share absolutely nothing, and that's fine too.
  5. None of these measures are a good idea in my opinion. All of them will reduce income to Linden Lab. And the very last thing I want to see is for them to go bankrupt right now. What they really ought to do though, is blitz social media with advertising. Let people know that we're still here, still thriving, and no longer full of flying weeners.
  6. Weird. I was back in work today and out of a department of 28 there are only 6 of us. A few are working from home but my department will be effectively closed after tomorrow.
  7. Not at all, no. Child avatars are allowed to be present on any region, even Adult ones, as long as they are not in proximity to any adult activity. (Linden Lab as yet to define what "proximity" means in this case). Since adult activity is not permitted in a public venue on Moderate land, you will not fall foul of any rules. One fine example is the Shelter, which is located on Moderate land and has at least one child avatar on its staff.
  8. Hope you feel better soon, Ajay. Keep safe.
  9. I'm seeing what looks like a slight gap between head and neck, rather than a skin mismatch. This is not fixable by anyone except the body creator, but you can cover it up: Go to the MP and pick up these: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Apricot-Paws-SLUV-Neck-Fix-Freebie/14958878 It will work best if you are using Bakes on Mesh, if you're not, you'll have a skin mismatch which may or may not be visible. This item is intended for furries, because furry heads don't have built-in necks, but I tried it when I had the same issue on the RuthToo body, and it worked.
  10. Noo, we are fine, our local stores are well stocked and there's a good sized supermarket within walking distance. I was just speculating about the option of forcing people to stay home completely, rather than allowing them out to shop for groceries.
  11. Yeah they are open to buy from in person here, and pretty well stocked with most things (apart from the obvious). We definitely are not going to starve
  12. Ordering online in the UK is just about impossible now. The earliest delivery slots available to me now, from any supermarket, are the end of May. The only real solution here is have the supermarkets parcel off all their stock into food parcels, and have the Army deliver them.
  13. Bath time. Looking slightly different without make-up... 🤣 This one desaturated and softened slightly. And this one is the same skin etc, just on my female body & head.
  14. You can do that, if all the items included in your build are made by you, or if they are made by others and are transferable. When you set the land for sale, tick the box that says "Objects included in sale". Unfortunately, no-transfer objects cannot be included.
  15. @Dano Seale Did your parents not raise you to have proper British manners? As a British bloke myself, middle-aged, all I can say is that it's not a "cultural misunderstanding". Had you just said to Seicher, "That is a beautiful piece of art, please may I have your permission to print and frame it, and hang it in my RL home?" I'm sure she would have been happy to say yes.
  16. Kind of? I am male in RL, I identify as male, and my avatar is, for now, basically still male. But I present entirely femme now, on a full-time basis. I use a female mesh head and body with a flat chest and a shape designed to make a female body look more masculine. Broader shoulders, narrower hips. Body thickness and muscles are maxed out and I still look too thin. I use a male body skin (or add-ons to make a female skin flat-chested), female or feminine male face skin, and male "you-know-whats". I wear almost exclusively feminine clothes these days, usually shorts and crop top, or short cute dresses, with high heels. It's still changing, though. On occasion, an item of clothing doesn't work at all without breasts, so occasionally I have those too, only as big as they need to be to make the clothing work. It feels like my avatar is undergoing a transition resembling that of male-to-female transition in RL. It's slow-paced, and varies a little depending on my mood of the day. I suspect that at some point I'll settle with an avatar that's fully female, though I am not there yet. My preferred pronouns are male ones but honestly at this point I don't even care. Most people use female pronouns for me (until they get to know me and I tell them I'm actually male) but I don't mind either way. I'll answer to any pronouns that I can pronounce. Why, when I don't identify as female? Well, it started because I wear a lot of fantasy consumes and take part in weekly themed contests. I decided that I could vastly increase my choices by adding a female body to my collection. And once I started doing that, I just loved it, and I couldn't bring myself to put that male body back on. SL is a lot more fun as a girl; as well as the shopping, it also makes it more social; people of both genders are much more likely to chat with girls than with guys, and as I am a very social and extrovert person, that's important to me too. I'm not roleplaying a character though. I am still basically the same person that I am in RL.
  17. If you actually want visible breasts, you'll need a female body. But if you just want the curviness with a flat chest, you can do it yourself. Go into the Appearance Editor and edit your shape with the sliders. Suggestions would be to increase Body-fat, Saddlebags, Butt size, Hip Width (not too much here, or you'll get an un-natural thigh-gap). Reduce Love Handles to give the impression of a slimmer waist and a more hourglass figure. You'll not achieve the same degree of curviness that you can achieve with a female body but it will certainly look more feminine. A unisex skin without noticeable muscle tone will also help. You can't really wear a female skin on a male body, unless you have one that is specifically made to be flat-chested, or you have an add-on to cover the breast-shading. If you're using a skin that's mapped for a female body, the nipples will be in the wrong place, but again you can get an add-on to cover them, and another add on for separate nipples in the correct place.
  18. I called my boss today to let him know that I am fit to return to work and can do so as scheduled on Thursday. Looks like it's business as usual. I guess I am fortunate that I still have a job at all.
  19. The Log Cabin homes are scheduled to be released soon; at the rate they're churning out new regions to the east of Bellisseria, there will be hundreds, if not thousands. Once they are released, many people will abandon their current homes, including Victorians, in order to try and get one. This will mean that more of the current styles will be available too. If I were to bet on the release date, I'd place my money on the first week of April for the first batch (they have already said it won't be this week).
  20. Glad I could help, and glad it was cheap too!
  21. Vista has a "Businessman" AO, that I recall, which is subtle. Don't forget though, if the AOs you've bought include one or two stands that you do like, you can open them, take out the animations and combine your favourites into a custom AO.
  22. I haven't heard of the Robert body but if it has a standard size neck fit, it will fit the static heads from Catwa; there are two for men, and I think they're L$900. I used the Justin one for ages, really liked it.
