How long were you offline before you tried your account again? More than a year? There have been reports of inactive residents losing everything connected with their account. I am back in after a 6 month hiatus. Everthing is in there but it did take a while for my inventory to become visible and searchable.

Stop using Internet Explorer. (Firefox is a much better and safer browser.)

Did you get it figured out yet Renae? Make sure you are actually in the house or on the patio when you go to abandon it. You only own the actual home, not any of the land around it. Once you abandon it, you should be able to choose another home right away. You can only abandon and choose a new home a few times in one day, though. Check your account if you are not sure if you abandoned the land or not, you'll see your land holdings at 0.
