  1. After reading Brad's statement, it seems evident that the focus should be on addressing any misconduct among Linden Lab employees and contractors rather than attributing blame to the Second Life community. Instead of pondering punitive measures against the community, shouldn't we redirect our discussions toward more pressing matters? For instance, the absence of a CEO capable of ensuring that middle management doesn't abuse their authority over residents warrants attention. Additionally, we could explore whether it's acceptable for Linden Lab employees to operate SL stores that directly compete with residents, or how we can implement measures to mitigate favoritism in interactions between employees/contractors and residents. I'm certain many of you have valuable insights on these issues, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas.

  2. Dear OptimoMaximo, this is not about expectations, it is about hope. Without hope, there is no life. But let me assure you I feel your frustration, bitterness, and pain. They lost my MP listings 8 times and I am in no way delusional about how they have handled that. Big hug, take care, and kind regards.

  3. Yesterday seemed to be the day for closing tickets at Linden Lab. My feedback regarding PBR materials and my disappearing marketplace listings were closed without any information regarding the outcomes.

This isn't an isolated incident; all my previous tickets and requests for assistance with the missing MP listings have met a similar fate.

Could this updated feedback system not serve as an opportunity for improvement? It would be greatly appreciated if there were more transparency regarding the actions taken and the current status of our inquiries.

  4. Again, 2 of my listings inexplicably disappeared on Saturday 17-2-2024. The 8th time for me, sometimes a handful, sometimes hundreds. Despite numerous attempts to seek assistance through support, filing tickets, and bug reports, the responses are dismissive or non-existent.

In light of this ongoing issue, I've taken the liberty to compile a manual outlining steps for fellow users to retrieve their missing listings.

HOW TO RETRIEVE YOUR MARKETPLACE LISTINGS AFTER THE LINDENS LOSE THEM AGAIN

1 Prepare: Take capture screenshots of your Marketplace store, starting with the oldest listings first. Organizing them with 24 listings per page is easiest to capture.

2 Check the number of your listings at least every day.

3 When you find the missing listings, access your Marketplace listings from within the Second Life viewer and find the missing items.

4 If possible, make minor edits to the missing listings from within the viewer. Even a small change, such as adding and then deleting a letter, may trigger the system to recognize the listing again. Save the edited listing afterward.

5 While editing from inworld may help in some instances, it often does not. In that case, you will have to contact support, file bug reports and tickets and hope the lindens will restore them.

PLEASE NOTE: While these methods may provide temporary solutions in some cases, they should not be seen as a substitute for the support and accountability that a company like Linden Lab should offer its paying customers.

  5. I got this news from LL support:

While the symptoms of the outage on December 31, 2023 were similar to those experienced periodically by many Merchants in 2023, the cause was not the same. Our Engineers are still working on permanent fixes to ongoing intermittent issues.

So they may have changed the status of this problem to resolved, but it hasn't been. Keep checking your listings.

  7. I appreciate your explanation. I still have further questions though. Like why is this the 6th time in 6 months? Why is it also brand new and/or best selling items? Why sometimes a handful, sometimes hundreds? Why are they not waving the 10% marketplace fees they put up right before the search changed to rubbish for relevance search, listing enhancements went missing, then listings, then whole stores? Why is LL not doing their best to keep us informed so we can maintain a certain level of trust? Why are the not fixing it right away when we report it? That’s just the first few that pop up. Anyways, I appreciate your explanation, but 6th time in 6 months. It is very unnerving.

  8. Yes, I lost 115 listings today. This is the 6th time in 6 months for me, sometimes it's a few, sometimes it's hundreds.

Please file a ticket or add something to this one: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-234913

Mind you, this is my 6th ticket on the issue, and every time I have to wait for sometimes days, they recover the listings and then close the ticket with a "sorry this is happening to you!". But obviously, they are not solving the problem.

  10. Again, listings are disappearing. A few hours ago, I had 640 listings. Now one is missing, I am down to 639. I did not delete any listings myself. It was not among the not listed or unassociated.

Update: I found it by checking every listing by hand and managed to retrieve it by editing and saving it from inworld.

Still, it disappeared again. So the problem is back. Check your listings.
