  1. Is it me, or is this thread (and other threads of a similar kind) full of people posting who think that a rex x looks really cool? Seriously, the way in which images have to be posted, and the existence of a limit (even if they have upped it from 100 to 500) makes threads like this rather pointless in the long run. On the other hand, beauty *is* ephemeral and perhaps people here would rather not be reminded of what they thought was attractive a while ago, in comparison with real life where the older you get the more nostalgic you tend to be - particularly if you have a revisionist memory.
  2. Belgian? *IS* there such a language? Or are you suggesting that the subforum should be restricted to those who live in Belgium, were born in Belgium, or who claim Belgian nationality? And as for "Dutch" - I understand there are all sorts of dialects. But then, I suppose we have one "Spanish" subforum, despite the multiple languages spoken in Spain, to say nothing of the versions across the Atlantic.
  3. @Cori: If you think all the intellectual property you have listed belongs to Disney then I predict you are likely to run into considerably more problems until you do some research. You CAN be prosectued for ignorance!
  4. This is the wrong place to raise such a request. You should ask a Moderator to move your thread to Community Feedback.
  5. By the way, has anyone else noticed a little message that comes up saying that you can't post within 3,600 seconds (That's six minutes for the calculationally-challenged) of a previous post. Or is it just me that they are trying to stifle the flow of?
  6. @Void: A quick survey of the Lithium support forums suggests that there is no standard facility available to "ignore" the posts of designated individuals. What is even *more* interesting is that their legal people (and they are in the forum business remember) have categorically stated that if someone leaves the forums and wants to have her posts removed then it is incumbent upon the forum administrators to effect the request. That would mean removing where all or part of posts that have been quoted, which would require even more manual effort.
  7. @Arkady: May I point out that Amanda is the person who, in an official and preprepared blog post, stated that Facebook was THE BEST PLACE to find information about Second Life, so her words in an extremely disjointed multiple monologue (reading the log of the meeting made my head hurt) are not necessarily to be relied upon, and there is also the possibility that she might, as she did with the Facebook ccmment, attempt to recant, perhaps with more or less success. It has been known for Lindens to change their mind (qv "No plans to move Teens to Main Grid")
  8. @Suspiria: I was not implying that you would have to make a retraction or that you had done anyhing but quote acurately. I have, however, learned from years of reading book reviews that you can not always trust excerpts taken out of context. Oh, and the truth most certainly does NOT always prevail, in my experience.
  9. @Suspiria: I would very much like to see the full log of the meeting, because I can not believe that Amanda would say something as shortsighted as "no appeals" without qualification. I look forward to viewing the comprehensive record and possibly a retraction, as she made after suggesting Facebook was THE BEST PLACE to find out information regarding SL.
  10. @Prok: I disagree. (Yes, that's all. I just disagree with your proposition.)
  11. @Ciaran: /me looks in the ToS and then the Urban Dictionary (unsuccessfully in both cases) for a definition of "complete numpty".
  12. @Carole: The jury is still out. If the Moderating team manage to climb the steep learning curve we may have a viable vehicle for agreeable disagreement, but the process is translucent, rather than transparent, at the moment.
  13. LL can do whatever it likes, whatever any individual Linden says and whatever the various elements of the ToS say in detail.
  14. @Talismere: I have to log on through a proxy which removes a lot of the functionality includng the ability to post emoticons, images and smilies, so maybe I'd better start using fake html tags: < sarcasm > Nobody takes me seriously anyway.
  15. Or as Kristofferson said: "Freedom's just another word, for nothing left to lose".
  16. @Wilhiam: When you ain't got nuthin' you ain't got nuthin' to lose
  17. @Venus: If the higher ranks get droit de seigneur I'm off . . . Oh, it's all right, it only applies to virgins.
  18. @www Wilhiam: you love it really . . . don't you?
  19. /me starts a book on who is going to be the first to reach that limit and start lobbying for more. Or will we run out of Vanity Threads by then?
  20. @Henry: You asked: 'How many "low quality" questions do you hear in a day?' I'm afraid that the answer at the moment is: "Most of them"! PS DIdn't you also mention something about beer earlier?
  21. I think you just need to be able to communicate - which requires a compatible grasp of language in a text-based environment like the forums (images and videos don't compensate) and even inworld.
  22. @Kylie: It's nice to find someone who appreciates me occasionally! Also, shouldn't discussion of limiting the number of threads be in *this* thread where it is on topic, rather than in that other thread which should be about the number of inworld creations permitted?
  23. @Suspiria: I think you'll find that Leonardo da Vinci was Italian. The clue to where the Spanish Inquisition happened is in the name.
  24. @Quinn: Might I suggest that even if you don't positively promote it now (when the culture of the forums is in its honeymoon period and pretty unstable) you might reconsider picking it up agani at some point when the comunity has matured.
