[Nice places for seniors?]

Well, I'm over 60 and have been in Second Life since Oct 2007. So, I guess that makes me a senior...  

I have never cared to make my avatar look younger. Don't really see the point. 

Anyways, our land is user friendly. My wife and I always like to help people out. Second Life can be a bit daunting at the beginning. But with practice and help, navigating around SL gets easier. 

[Why do I choose Second Life over Meta?]

Have been a resident of Second Life since October 2007, which makes me a senior. 

I tried some other virtual world, forgot which, didn't do a thing for me. 

Second Life started before Facebook, and you know what, we have always had legs!! 

IMHO, this so-called "meta-verse" is a poor attempt. Not even ready for prime time. Never mind that I despise Facebook.

I have devoted my energy and time to our land in Second Life. Very happy with our half parcel designed on less than 10,000 prims. 

[Pretend real aliens come upon Second Life. What conclusions about Earth do you think they'll make?]

Well, I hope aliens do land in Second Life... on our land we have a UFO Self Parking area beside the Area 51 building. Across the street is Area 52... =)

What my SL looks like today.

Terminal City Social Club and Hangout - we have volley ball on our beach, Greedy at the movie drive-in, and Cards Against Humanity in our main club. And we have other activities as well. Plenty of photo-ops. Take your picture with a shark with a laser on its head.

Terminal City Social Club and Hangout is an intriguing creative mix of grunge, industrial, movies, photo-ops, retro, steam-punk, urban, and vintage.

I have a traditional body, because mesh did not exist when I started Second Life in Oct.2007.

[How to look one's age — with mesh]

My avatar is a traditional body - Eugene shape; Aeros Avatar Maxwell, skin brandy. 

My beard is 2 tattoo layers for the salt and pepper look. 

A variety of other tattoo layers also. 

Have been in Second Life since Oct.2007, and this is how I look my age.

I guess this makes me a bonafide Second Life Senior =)

[Where are all the over 40s/50s in SL?]

Hell, I'm on the wrong side of 50! hahaha =)

I choose to make my avatar look mature and aged. Older looking skins are possible to find though. Just a matter of hunting.

My body shape is traditional (was never sold on mesh bodies) and because I use Firestorm viewer, I add layers to make up my final look.

[Does anyone have any tips on making friends in this game?]

Well, as someone who has been active in Second Life since Oct.2017, I can say this - do some exploring.

Hunt through the destinations guide, get in some groups. As others mentioned, if you find places and venues which you like, become a regular there. Be active in local chat is always a good start. 

Just as in RL, being friendly with people is easy, but acquiring "friends" still takes time.

Weekends is when you will find us there. Unless... we are out shopping for more stuff for our land... =)

I'm a full-fledged Second Life senior now... since October 2007. 

I started to DJ in-world back then. Was 7 years at one club. Since 2016, I have been a hard rock and heavy metal DJ online.

[I love those quirky super realistic avatars, any ideas?]

Well, my avatar has been 13+ years of fine tuning. I have a traditional body, was never sold on mesh bodies, and because I use Firestorm viewer I wear many layers. 

I chose to make my avatar mature, because well, I am... So my look is a bit weathered and older.
