Hi Sonja, Yes it can get a little lonely at times, especially if one has been in a relationship and that is no longer there. There is a fantastic place called The Colour Factory. It is primarily a music venue but there is also amazing artwork and more importantly a group of people who are friendly, welcoming and awesome! Of course each muso brings their own group of fans as well so you never know who you might meet up with. Times are varied, so always have a look on the Events pages but if you join the group, you can keep up with the times of events. This group also has been given the opportunity to extend their friendships beyond SL by having fun with one of our dear friends and a longtime SL resident RebelMum Slade. Rebs has been diagnosed with StageIV cancer and she has defiantly stamped her foot and decided to have an Epic Road Trip across Australia and to write a book about it. She has also put out the fundraising cause of The Parfait Party! There will be the opportunity at the town she visits for people to host a Parfait Party and raise funds for local charities and to have an Awesome Aussie identified and immortalised in a book. The Colour Factory had a fundraising event with a 26 hour music marathon last weekend and raised an amazing amount to help towards Rebs trip. So you can see that when we make the right connections the friendships can become awesome! You are right, it wasn't such a problem 6 months ago and then someone created the advertising bots...grrrr. However I do see it as RL, junk mail delivered in the mailboxes, newspapers, windscreens and on the street corner. It would be interesting to do a demographics on age of avi in relation to age of owner, perhaps younger people are more hard sell than us oldies.
