There are so many exciting things happening at HIGHER GROUND MUSIC MAGAZINE I hardly know where to start! First up, let me tell you about why this venue was created. I have been writing A BLOG since 2012 to support musicians not just in SL but RL also. I took a nice long break to deal with RL, but now I am back and HGMM is stronger and better than ever I interview musicians who stream their music into SL, but also RL musicians, sitting down face to face with them and hearing them play in person. The live music community is a marvelous one to be a part of. I have met some very talented individuals and made life long friends! My blog is shared on Facebook and Twitter and it is written on the Blogger platform. I wanted to take it a step further and create a place where those I interview can come and perform so YOU could hear them first hand. HGMM is unlike any venue you've been to. It's not a "club" scene. It has a feel of sophistication and it's casual atmosphere is a great place to meet up with friends and just hang out and chat, even when there is no event. I purchase only the best dance scripts and I spare no expense to make HGMM THE place to be! You SHOULD know though that events won't be taking place as often as most venues either. I have a very busy RL schedule so events will be held about twice a month with only the BEST that SL has to offer. You will want to be sure and join our group so you don't miss a show!! Mark your calendars! Are you interested in earning some Linden? Well, it so happens that I am hiring both journalists/photographers as well as a club manager and hostess. (I prefer experienced please. You need to know how to add to calendars and book musicians, send out notices and create notecards, etc.) As always, when you visit any venue or musician event, please leave them a little linden. I am hiring, yes these are paid positions; a staff consisting of editors, photographers, marketing and writers. The criteria to become an HGMM staff member will be tough. I have very high standards. I have to have, I want to bring you only the very best. All applicants will be required to provide samples of your work. I.E. If you wanna write, show me you know how to write and capture an audience. ALL applicants are required to be under a 30 day trial WITOUT PAY. As I said, I only want THE BEST. I seek a personal assistant!! I run Higher Ground Music and Molaskey's Pub. I am a very busy woman. I can not always be in world when needed and RL happens. I am seeking an individual I can train man or woman who can literally be "me". I will train you to know my business and do all that I can do. You will literally follow me around, taking notes, reminding me of meetings, gaining sponsorships, greeting people they will know you as they know me. You will be able to speak for me and both organizations. This is not a newbie position by any means and not one for the faint of heart or lazy. The job will pay 2k a week but believe me you WILL work. I need someone who can be in world during the day most days. Sundays off. Some evenings required as well. But many many hours required. (not strippers) HGM has an exciting choreographed dance team currently producing "Greased Lightening" from the movie "Grease". We are seeking dedicated, motivated individuals. We are accepting applications and signs ups! Whether you are a musician/venue/host you should sign up with Higher Ground Music. Why? So glad you asked *wink* As a member of Higher Ground Music we will actively do the scouting for you. As a musician you simply pass us your bio and we in turn scout appropriate venues and pass it on to them along with our own. When they contact us we then contact you and arrange a meeting between you and them. We do not represent you, we are simply here to help you get heard. What do we ask in return? Nothing. If you feel you'd like to thank us with a portion of your pay from any gig we get you that's great and is appreciated, but we will never ask you for payment. We are here for YOU! We are here for the music ^_^ To sign up with us just contact Dreams Riler in world and attach your bio and any preferences in venues and leave the rest to us. As a venue we will match you with a musician/host. As we receive applications and sign ups that fit your needs we will arrange for them to meet with you. We have both permanent and temp to hire hosts. So whether you need someone for one show, one day or on a regular basis and permanent basis we are the answer for you! What do we ask of you in return for this service, Nothing. Pay for musicians is negotiated between you and them and pay for hosts comes from us except in cases of tip only hosting in which case our hosts keep 100% of what they take in. As a host, when you sign up for us you will receive training via a short training class (depending on your experience). In that class we will simulate what may occur during a show, show you how to use gestures and emotes and provide the necessary tools to make you a successful host. As jobs become available we will contact you. Jobs are filled based on availability and experience as well as whether or not a musician/venue requests a certain host. If you are a musician or venue or host you really can't lose. What's in it for us? As I said we are "Higher Ground Music". Our goal is to get music to the fans. Music comforts and uplifts and brings folks together like nothing else. There are no contracts ever! You simply sign up with us, join our group, and we promote you.
