  1. Not really, but things were heading to the stage where people start warning me to "be nice" and "think hard before hitting that 'return' key Dano!"....so I threw it "off the cuff" and went to bed! 🙂
  2. Thought it was a decent question to ask and as you were earlier trying to inform us about black history, thought you might give an intelligent reply. Wrong! *shrug* Any other black person out there like to answer without the uncalled for name calling?
  3. Hmmm...this'll be interesting! 🧐 https://www.msn.com/en-US/news/newsus/minneapolis-city-council-announces-intent-to-disband-police-department/ar-BB15amCL?ocid=OWADense
  4. I'm curious. Do you...or the 'BLM' organization for that matter...actually WANT support from white people? Asking because I've not seen anyone other than white people mention that we should "all stand together as one!" since this, or any other tragedy of this type occured. Most of us already know about it but apart from voicing our opinions (yes, we're allowed them to) on here, I'm not sure what you want us to do with such knowledge?
  5. I saw it was Scylla who said it, filed it under "Gonna be too technical to work out!"....and scrolled on! ðŸĪŠ
  6. Lol, ME catching out Americans with an acronym, that's a first! 😆 Jewell was right 1st time - "fk my life!".
  7. Colour me shocked! (Always thought meditation took a lot of patience but eh, whatever!)
  8. Lucky you! I'm still hypothetically sticking pins into certain fluffy effigies! Edit: Finally! Thanks Lindal.
  9. I see my explanation for that in my last post was a little too subtle for you Luna! Let me put it in easy "Americanese" so you and others won't be so ....confused. I DON'T BLAME GEORGE FOR WHAT HAPPENED! Clearer? All I said was that if he resisted being put into the police car, then that technically (to cops) counts as "resisting arrest", which usually results in cops dumping people on the ground! Try to look at it logically, instead of twisting my words to make out I'm defending the cops ffs!
  10. Agreed! And if that cop got the death penalty for it I wouldn't have a problem with it! Obviously he won't, but I believe everyone and their dog will wash their hands on him, there is NO possible defence to be made for what he did. The other 3?....I think they'll walk, maybe a "slap on the wrist", time will tell. Except for 30 sec's on the BBC's website, I've never seen the video. Don't have to really as those 30 seconds showed enough to convict that cop several times over! Neither have I delved deep into many articles about it, but the first one I read (also on BBC) said that Floyd was drunk or high, all was going well until they tired to get him into the police car....and couldn't! George looked like a very big guy, the kind of guy who if he didn't want to go somewhere, then it'd be like trying to push Gato's "14 ton rock"! I'm guessing just standing there and the cops not being able to get him to move counts as "resisting arrest"? Anyway, from all the video's on youtube I've seen, that's the point US cops generally put people on the ground. I also took it that the cop kneeling on him for 8Â― min's while the other 3 just stood around, was because they were waiting for a "meat wagon" I believe they call it? Anyway, I've seen other video's of this kind of arrest by multiple cops and many times they've knelt on legs, back and yes...neck, to immobilize the suspect until they get them cuffed....then they stand up! This cop has NO...POSSIBLE....DEFENCE! See this bit of my post.... "I believe there were underlying reasons and possible "bad blood" between the cop and poor George, maybe to do with when they were bouncer's together or something? A bit of previous "Don't ever make the mistake of me having to arrest you George ok!" possibly?" .... This is just a theory of mine I have due to the sheer brutality this one cop handed out. While reading through my post after finishing, I realised I'd forgotten to mention this part, wrote it and stuck it in. Unfortunately, being overtired, I chose a spot where it would be sandwiched between something else I'd said and would cause conflict! "Your final point seems to be more or less that American blacks should just kind of suck it up if they are being harassed by the police. That in itself is a repulsive and reprehensible suggestion, but it also ignores the fact that, way too often, blacks arrested by the police don't get the opportunity to "sort it all out" in a nice civilized way at the police station.George Floyd, and many, many other black men never made it that far." ...(wouldn't let me quote that bit for some reason!) It IS a "repulsive and reprehensible" suggestion, but it's something I feel everyone, no matter what colour, race or creed they may be, HAS to conform to to even get the ball rolling for real change to come about between police and the public! Below the surface, the police will never change if the public keep refusing to join in! In the UK and Europe, 9 times out of ten blacks arrested are "released without charge", or go to court and get dealt with one way or the other. Sure, we have our own "incidents" of "police brutality" and the odd riot, but in general the majority are "done by the book"...and I can never see it changing because men are men (Not ignoring the women here ..it's just a known expression.), they're genetically conditioned for "tribalism" and when you put two different factions together, especially if one of them is in "authority", and they disagree...sparks are always going to fly! It's human nature unfortunately, and it's THAT that both sides need to "change"! Probably over explaining again but fk it....that's how I roll!
  11. "Black lives matter means defund the police"?....see, it's this kind of statement that sends me straight back to sitting on the fence again! How can that be good for anyone? Shouldn't it be more about changing police arrest and patrolling proceedures? I mean, you have the "gun" problem there that's never going to change I know, but the cops looking for a black "suspect" wearing jeans and a red t-shirt and white baseball cap, shouldn't be jumping out, guns drawn, on a black guy wearing board shorts, a white t-shirt and a blue baseball cap! A stolen car shouldn't have 20+ police cars all chasing it, ramming it off the road and then all jumping out and demolishing it with bullets! I've also watched videos of chases where the car thief stops and gets out hands wide apart to surrender. One cop should walk up and cuff him but no, 8 cops rush him and throw him to the ground then all pile ontop of him! Other cops are literally fighting to see a spare bit of flesh they can leap on! It's those kind of "proceedures" that can and MUST be changed. Defunding the police may mean only 2 cars are available to chase a stolen car, but then someone who needs the police urgently may die because the police can't afford to run more than 2 vehicles! To be honest, no matter how much protesting and rioting happens, nothing much will change and I don't really understand what everyone is expecting to? Cops will be banned from kneeling on anybody's neck? Maybe, but I don't see anything else changing unless people themselve's change, and that ain't gonna happen! On paper, it all looks so simple - cops stop harrassing people for no legitimate or "petty" reasons, and people being arrested, whether guilty or not, stop fighting it. Fighting arrest just means the cops are going to put you on the ground...one way or the other, they don't really have a choice. It doesn't matter if it's wrong or "harrassment", take the cuff's, get in the car and sort it out at the station! However, Americans have a hard time accepting things like that because "my freedom! My constitution!, my rights!..I didn't do nothing!" mentallity, none of which is going to help if you're dead! I believe there were underlying reasons and possible "bad blood" between the cop and poor George, maybe to do with when they were bouncer's together or something? A bit of previous "Don't ever make the mistake of me having to arrest you George ok!" possibly? Dunno, but at the end of the day, if you force the cops to put you on the ground by reacting badly/violently to arrest, then sh*t's gonna happen and it's usually bad! If you're guilty? The cops got you, it's a bad day, deal with it! If you're innocent? The cops don't believe you, it's a bad day, now you have to get a cab home, deal with it! Ain't gonna happen though is it? Ugh! That was longer than expected when I started it,lol. 04.40am...gone to bed!
  12. Because he's demanding servitude to a song and a bit of coloured cloth at a time when all he should be concerned with is the fact that his law enforcement are murdering people of all races and colours at an astonishing rate! That and the fact it seems it's illegal to have 200 yards of space that isn't flying a flag and the belief that many who do fly it will stand by his BS and vote for him again! Never said it was, never will. I have 0 time or respect for anyone who goes under the title "politician"! They're all as bad as each other, no matter what side of the line they're on!
  13. Ya know, through my years of antagonizing, battling and debating logically with numerous Americans online, it's usually this kind of statement they throw out that makes me realise I'm wasting my time trying to point out/ discuss things because I'm just dealing with a total f'kin conditioned from birth "drone"! This guy is the LEADER of your Country! A clown, who I fully expect to gain 4 more years come November,! A man who with one seriously ridiculous "post" can make the rest of the World roll it's eyes and say "fk the US...it's a lost cause!" I honestly don't know which is more important right now, backing BLM or backing ANYONE dedicated to removing this f'ker ASAP!
  14. Thumbs!...We'd all be in serious trouble without them! 👍
  15. You'd rather we used that tax payers money instead to build 19, multi billion dollar(pounds) aircraft carriers, carrying 30+ multi million dollar (pounds) aircraft, that sail around the oceans doing....not a lot? Countless billion dollar (pounds) submarines, carrying numerous multi million dollar (pounds) nuclear weapons, that sail the oceans doing....not a lot? Not saying it looks good on paper, but at least our Royalty and Dukes etc spend most of that money on maintaining beautiful palace's, stately homes and gardens, most open to the public, that bring in far more money from tourism than the tax payers pay them! ( A quick example: Prince William and Kate's wedding cost around ÂĢ23m (mostly paid for by the Royal family and Kate's parents. Tax payer's paid for the security only.). A lot for a wedding right?...However, it returned ÂĢ44m in sales of merchandise alone! The predicted income due to tourism for the following 2 years was ÂĢ2 billion! I think the tax payer's got a good deal?) You find them "scary" Fairre? Basically, they're no more scary than the very rich folk who populate your own State....a lot less probably! The carrier's and submarines are just the very tip of the US Military iceberg. Add in the yearly cost for everything and everyone else that make it all up totally that the US taxpayer pays for, now THAT'S "scary"! I think you'll find that paying for a few stuffy Royals & "bluebloods" is a bloody Godsend for us!
  16. Peeve: Tuning in late and finding one of my all time favourite American* types in the form of Blake "stolen valor!" USMC (had to have been)", had joined the battlefield! However, No matter how fast I read through all his "I'm a vet' you need to kiss my ass!" BS, Kristen Linden was always seconds ahead of me furiously deleting every time my cursor headed for the "quote" button! Very frustrating....but probably very good timing also! 😆 * - Highly dubious whether he actually was American due to his usage of our "cheque" rather than "check"!
  17. Yup I know. I put it in for others who may not really. 😉
  18. We need a "mean & rude" month!....With flags and t-shirts and sh*t! ðŸī󠁧ó Ēó Ĩó Ū󠁧ó ŋ Edit: That is NOT the flag of England ffs! ðŸ˜Ą
  19. The one I saw of officers kneeling with their shields down, showed the protestors walking to them clapping and cheering....then the cops charged them! Guess they were just tired maybe?
