This reinforces my guess...did Patch lose his TAIL? (Wasn't sure if that's what is behind and to his right.)

He hasn't lost his tail 😜

  2. The hint:

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip, that started from this tropic port aboard this tiny ship.

The mate was a mighty sailing man, the skipper brave and sure...

Skipper!  See that huge hole in the side of the Minnow?!  We seem to have lost something!

  3. Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale
a tale of a fateful trip,
that started from this tropic port,
    aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
    the Skipper brave and sure,
five passengers set sail that day,
    for a three hour tour,
    a three hour tour.

    The weather started getting rough,
    the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
    the Minnow would be lost.
    The Minnow would be lost.

The ship aground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle
    with Gilligan,
    the Skipper too.
    A millionaire and his wife,
    a movie star,
    the proffessor and Mary Ann,
    here on Gilligan's Isle.

    (Ending verse)

So this is the tale of our castaways,
there here for a long long time.
They'll have to make the best of things,
    it's an uphill climb.
The first mate and his Skipper too
    will do their very best,
    to make the others comf'terble
    in their tropic island nest.
No phone ,no lights, no motor car,
    not a single luxury
    like Robinson Crusoe
    it's primitive as can be.
So join us here each week my friends,
you're sure to get a smile,
    from seven stranded castaways
    here on Gilligan's Isle!

We are looking into it. Since much of the Lab is off for the holidays the soonest we could address the issue would be next week.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo! Balconies should open inward. He only wants them to open outward because he needs more room for his orgies!!!

On another thought perhaps LL just wanted to have these regions for themselves first, hosting their own corporate presentations and conferences having primarily large corporations in mind as a target:
For instance: Corporate executive or marketing lead arrives to linden hosted conf, sees 200 people and asks them how they managed to pull it off. Linden offers him the opportunity. Sold.

As to the announcement itself - they had to do it, or otherwise it would always remain a "hidden" feature for big cheese clients only.

This has been tested in real shopping events with real shoppers and it has also been talked about in large shopping groups. Maybe not lately, but there was plenty of chatter months ago. So no hidden feature for big cheese clients only.

Just curious if anyone from this group or anyone you know in SL actually took a part in 200 avatar server stress-testing, or was it just bunch basic avatar created by LL interns?

Also if this is for daily rentals and someone decides to invest and then sublet this sim for daily or weekly renting contracts, would they actually have enough renters?

Would someone persay actually want to rent such region for a big wedding or other celebration and pay week's rent of lets say 300USD so they have enough time to decorate and then to trash the place when they are done?

Also, did anyone actually ask for this?

    Asking for a friend:)

This has been tested in real shopping events with real shoppers (I've seen people riding horses and parading their pets at crowded events). I suppose it may have also been tested with avatars created by Linden Lab inters 🤣 No idea). It has also been talked about in large shopping groups. There was quite a lot of chatter at the beginning of the testing in real events quite a few months ago (sorry, I can't remember the exact date) when they were tested at Equal10 (huge event, always laggy), and there was some kind of problem and the regions had to close for an hour or so until things went back to running smoothly. There were lots of shoppers knocking at the doors of those regions, and lot of chatter in shopping groups about why that had happened.

Cushions ... or maybe pillows?  Pillows ... tropical punch drinks  ... vaguely tropical plants ...

Pillows!  PALAU!  We are going to get a chance to live in Micronesia before our emissions drown it!

... and if you believe that, I have a bridge you might be interested in buying!

Oh wow, that's the monster I was talking about!  Thanks for bringing that to my attention :)

Which is a bit of a lesson to us about steampunk as a theme.  I doubt the Lindens are going to build a bunch of steampunk content just for the Birthday, but Belli is not the only game in town.  Could be there's another partnership that could use it, or indeed, already is for all I know.

And HEY, @Patch Linden , I thought of a benefit that would make me buy Premium Plus.  Premium sandboxes that let you leave your stuff there for an extended period of time.  Say, 48 hours or a week.  With that feature, having a Linden Home as my ONLY home would become a possibility.  When I'm building something ... or even when I'm furnishing and want to rez the coalesced object that is my living room "showroom", I'd like to leave it there until I'm done.

You can leave things rezzed for 24 hours in the Animesh sandboxes. It's been so for years 😉

The thing that gives me hope for a Steampunk LH theme is that LL is not inclined to waste good content.  If it can be reused, they are totally up for that.

It is easy to put together bad steampunk content; color a chalet dark brown and put a few cogs on it, voila.  But it is time-consuming to develop GOOD steampunk content.  Not the kind of thing you'd want to use once and toss.

IIRC, some Fantasseria content was used at SL18B, "Hidden Worlds" theme.  (Wasn't it SL18B where the Lindens had a region with a great fantasy monster?  Or was that Fantasy Faire? I really hoped to see that monster on some coastal island in Fantasseria :) @Abnor Mole, it's not too late!)

I don't make a game out of guessing Mole identities, but I believe there are at least a couple who've spent some time in Steamlands.

Girl Genius always looked to me like it was taking place in SL.  Fingers crossed.

Have you seen the monster at Zenoscope? That region is lots of fun!

Where is this information coming from?  Do you have a source or are you just speculating? I personally don't come to SL to get away from my horrific actual real life and to get away from the RL new cycle I just shut off my TV.  I come here for entertainment and friendships.  Yes, I'm sure some do but that being the BIG reason? I'm not too sure about that.

Premium + was going to be introduced in 2020, there were big plans for it, and it got delayed because of COVID. @Patch Linden and other Lindens have often said so. There are recorded interviews you can watch if you didn't see the live ones. They didn't want to raise prices when many people were struggling.

I really hope they make the announcement before my Premium runs out. I am half worried that those already Premium will be offered an upgrade to Plus for an introduction price. If I go off premium March 25th, the new Premium Plus is revealed March 27th, will I have said goodbye to that possibility?

When Patch first talked about premium +, before COVID, he said premiums would be able to upgrade to premium +. Some people were worried because they had taken the discount offer to extend their premium memberships before there was talk about premium plus so Patch told them not to worry because they would be able to upgrade. If there’s a discount or how big it may be… no idea.

  13. There are 2 more themes already planned, and they are still working and releasing some of the latests themes. If I remember right,  it was said that they would go back to earlier themes (for open plans, etc.) after those are done. So not yet. I'm looking forward to open plan traditionals and Victorians 😉

Did someone make you a spokesperson for the Moles & Lindens as you seem to think you have an answer for everything.

People are allowed to have differing opinions and not be happy about something without being scolded for it.

If they want to play bureaucrats that's their choice, but they get rewarded for it... what about the residents who have numerous Linden homes because decorating and landscaping makes them happy, their contributing to the SL economy and yet their not getting anything back.

I was just expressing my opinion, as you said, people are allowed to express their opinions.

Not getting anything back? All premiums get the same perks.

They're already doing this for the BBB and their 937 prim premium location house, so really why is it NOT available to others?

    Oh right, favoritism.

The Lindens have said in different occassions (in interviews, etc.) that they would listen to any group of residents that came up with a doable well thought plan and a structure that could serve the community.

The BBB is run by volunteers and they were running a smaller operation that could be scalated before they approached the Lindens. That building and those prims is really public land. I don't see favoritism in there. Anybody who wants to put the same time and work they did can get help from the Lindens.

The reason why there are no more people doing these kinds of things is because most get burnout. People are always suspicious and quick to complain. Complaining is easier than putting in the hours and work necessary to create something for the community.

I am not in the BBB group, I don't have a passport nor I will get one, not my thing, but I think it's a pity that many people who try to do things for the community stop doing them or decide not to do them because after all the hours, the work, the money spent... it usually ends up in drama and accusations from people who just complain without bothering to put in the effort to do something "better" themselves. If you don't like what somebody is doing, do better.

@Coby Foden@Maitimo Small land locked lakes are why flying boats and seaplanes are a good investment. They're made and sold in all kinds of different shapes and sizes. Hovercraft and amphibious cars are also a good alternative.

Or you can drive your car under water or drive your boat on land... I mean, this is Second Life 😉 I used to ride my dolphins from the sand on my backyard to the water and go visit a friend on her houseboat or to the party boat, travel from my house to the lighthouse on a golf cart: on sand, under water, on rocks... 🤣 So many possibilities 😉

It's not that I don't think Riverbridge should be there or should be AR'd. I think it's great. I just think that similar in-theme add-ons SHOULD be allowed in Newbrooke.

I mean, they said a rooftop deck is ok, but you can't have a different texture on it so... a rooftop deck on black tarmac? No wooden decking, no grass? A modern rooftop wine-bar in Newbrooke would be lovely, but not if the deck floor has to be plain black tarmac. Yuk.

You can create beautiful garden roofs with planters, add a deck to a small area of the roof, etc. just not cover the whole thing. There's plenty of room to wiggle within the covenant.

And I repeat, most of the things returned have been ARed by other residents.

  18. I see lots of people talking about add-ons not on theme that they have seen in other themes that did not get returned. Moles and Lindens can't be everywhere. Bellisseria is huge. They do come across a few of the things not on theme or against covenant, and they return them, but most of the things that get returned is because some resident ARs them. If you saw something not on theme that you thought it shouldn't be there and you didn't AR it, you cannot complain later that it didn't get returned. Just saying...
