Wow, Quartz on duty, and fixed the controller. And on Thanksgiving Day!  You moles are the best.

In these lamps, the script is still working as it should, after linking.

I copy how I edited the script, from another thread.

The light was too strong, had a big radius and was cold, white.

Since the script inside is modify, it can be edited to a more soft light, if one wish to have the realism of turning the lamp on and off.

The original light is set to plain white light, and default strength and radius 5 m. Falloff is not so important here. By changing the numbers from

     PRIM_POINT_LIGHT, on, <1.000000, 1.000000, 1.000000>, 1.000000, 5.000000, 0.750000

    to

    PRIM_POINT_LIGHT, on, <1.000000, 1.000000, 1.000000>, 0.200000, 2.000000, 0.750000

the strength is reduced to 0.2 and the radius to 2 m.

To take it further, one can set the light color to something more soft, like a beige tone.

The numbers for the color I picked are RGB 235,230,220:

    PRIM_POINT_LIGHT, on, <235.000000, 230.000000, 220.000000>, 0.200000, 2.000000, 0.750000

Remember to "save" before you close the script.

Thank you so much for the info on dimming some lamps. It's so disappointing to get something you like, only to find that it's lighting up the whole region with another sun. I'm very scripting challenged, but will give this a try.

I got a 512 Newbrooke that was no where near the water, so I decided to provide my own water in the form of Ponds on both sides of my house. It turned out rather well, so I thought I'd share it here...

Beautiful job, and a great idea about the ponds. Your build, or did you purchase somewhere?

I took inspiration from this thread to change the garden. I built the pool surround around a DO Design pool. Cheap and low Li. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/DO-Deluxe-Pool-Adult-Bento-2LI-PROMO/17039403

In the living room is a partition fireplace: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/NewBrooke-Partition-Fireplace-3li/23370319

I have edited it a lot. Brick texture from Jubran, the flames is from a Trompe Loeil house I picked apart, the rocks from a TA Arts firplace. So the Li increased a little bit.

Edit to add: I was asked where the outdoor loungers are from earlier. I can't edit in the name in that post, but they are: Loft & Aria - Daisha Lounger And Ottoman.

Dang, you do a great job, Marianne. I'm just starting to feel more comfortable with tearing things apart and using bits and pieces of things. What lighting are you using for those pics, if I may ask?

I hope this works.  My first try at a 360 photo.

This is the main room of my Coniston home.

I don't know if it is supposed to move - or just look like that.  No idea if the forums support the 360 photos.

ok - Just uploaded to Flickr and it actually works there the way I thought it would.  360 Photo in Flickr

Wow, that 360 photo thing is great! Will be a big help to those of us who are decorating-challenged.

My alt has had problems with that!   All you can do, I think, is rez things on a prim (or outside and drag them in).

One odd thing I've noticed, maybe it's just me. But if I set up a prim to rez items, but make it transparent, then I get the error message.

These large 2 LI decorative wall panels by Driftwood (associated with Apple Fall) are on sale for $75 each, $68 if you wear an Apple Fall tag.

Wow, thanks..Wasn't aware of Driftwood before. But even though it's connected to Apple Fall, I needed the Driftwood Update group to get the discount.

Halelujah! Some holiday-themed sale items that don't involve pumpkins! (Don't know about you all, but I reached PSP - Pumpkin Saturation Point - almost 2 weeks ago). In fact, these sets from KraftWork are looking towards Christmas. $75 will buy you the small, 4 LI rattan-topped side table with books, cookies, lantern and knee rug (3 patterns) and rug (3 LI, beige, green and red color options, each with a different texture) and a pair of floor pillows (textures the same as the knee rug on table). Oh, and if you click the table, you'll hear T'was the night before Christmas...

And if baking is your thing, this kitchen decor (stand with mugs 2 LI, cupcake stand 3 LI) is also on sale for $60.

Thanks, Frigga. Feeling the same here with the PSP. It's such a relief to look at the weekly sales and offers and not see bloody bodies, gouged eyes, and brutal weapons. And what's up with ugly skin bruises  and cuts you can get for your "loved" one? Enough already, l'm ready for Christmas. (end of rant)

Muniick, as usual, has lots of stuff on sale. The pack of 3 kitchen items (toaster and blender 1 LI each, microwave with opening door 2 LI) with 4 metal textures costs $75. The texture-change 5 LI island and 2 LI stool set costs $60 for the PG version and $75 for the Adult.

The bedroom furniture is $50 for PG, $75 for A. Seven wood textures.

The 9 LI bath tub/shower is on sale for $60 (PG) or $75 (A).

All of these items have been on sale before - so check your inventory!

The really nice thing about the people at Muniick is that if you've bought an item from them before (been there, done that), you'll get a nice message telling you that and they return your linden.

Nutmeg's Happy Weekend offer is this garden bench. The advert says the bench (3 versions) is either 5 or 6 LI, but the display model (which looks to be the third version) is 15 LI. To be honest, I like the 3 LI texture change rustic bench (see p. 59 above) on sale at Muniick this weekend better.

EDIT: For those of you who like tiny details, this is carved into the back of Nutmeg's bench.

Thank you for these posts, Frigga! It's hard to keep up with these sales, so this is great. I'm finding some good additions to my homes, but is anyone else a little tired of seeing "shabby", or "repurposed", or "worn" textures on things? I'd love to see more elegant, or at least new things.  Just my two cents, of course.

I have another thought about this, tho.  You know the two "clumps" of regions now in Belli, 9-region islands that have a mix of trads, campers, and houseboats?  I wonder if LL would be open to creating a Fantasy "clump" where it is always night, to help out folks who cannot make it in during SL night?  @Abnor Mole, maaaayyyyybe?

I like the way you think, Nika. Let's hope our mole friends are listening. But, by the way, I tried setting to midnight on the parcel -- no glowing roof. Darn, it looks so good when it works.

If it was night a lot we'd get people complaining that it's dark all the time.

    Poor Moles   :(     :)

I'm not asking for dark all the time, Luna. I just wish there was some way to switch on all the magical beauty when I'm in world. We're so used to changing our environment in this world. With things like sleep and work, I only end up with probably two hours of that magic - the 4:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Since I'm Central USA time, that works out to 6:30 pm and 10:30 pm. And those times can be a problem, too. I know, I know -- deal with it.

  14. As much as I enjoy the new Fantasy regions, I keep missing the magic of the night when using the shared environment settings. With this complication called "real life", I just can't be on enough to enjoy that magic. Are there any plans to disconnect that from the shared environment settings, so that we can experience that apart from the few hours that work now?

Again, I love the look of the region, but would love it more if we didn't have to log in a certain times.....
