  1. I suspect there may be an issue at the moment with the asset server(s). I have had to stop my build due to inventory error messages (is why I am lurking here) as rezzing or removing objects is not working for me 100 percent right now, has been the case for the last 90 minutes or so. We may have our inventory stored on the same server as this doesn't seem to be a grid-wide issue. It has happended to me a few times over the last few months, the inventory is always there afterwards, but it can be a worry at the time.
  2. I am in my mid/late 40's in RL but the avatar I play is a good 10/15 years younger physically. If I had the option to 'edit shape' in RL I would use it, I don't intend to grow old gracefully :smileywink:
  3. Thing is Ginger, on here we are all just contributors and Second Life residents, like you. We don't have any say in what happens, we can only advise what the TOS/rules say and advise you on what you can do to speed up the process. As far as I know Vista Barnes hasn't been online today to chase up the reporting that he will have to make to LL (as the intellectual property owner) but you CAN rest assured that the hundreds of people who have read this thread will know to steer clear of the seller in question in the meantime. Some may have contacted Vista independently to make sure he is aware of what is going on. Another forum member said they would be contacting the seller directly incase they weren't aware that what they are doing is wrong (yep I know, common sense teaches us right from wrong but not all people are the same). It is buyer beware yes, just as it is in RL (the number of times I have been stung on Ebay for example is a joke). Citizens have rights yes, but not in all cases. If you receive stolen goods in RL, albeit innocently, you dont get your money back and your lose the items, law enforcement investigates and if they have absolute proof that a crime has been commited the criminal is prosecuted. In this case LL is law enforcement, Vista is the rightful owner of the property and you are the innocent victim. I know it sucks, it's not want you want to hear and I do feel bad for you.
  4. I'm female in both lives and don't get 'hit on' anywhere near as much as I did when I first joined in early 2008, despite my belief that my avatar has become more attractive over time as creators have had the tools and skills to produce more realistic accessories. I do receive an occasional compliment and that sometimes leads to a conversation, occasionally a friendship, but nothing amorous. I am happy with that, but do wonder now if perceptions are changing and new residents for the most part are not looking to SL to provide a romantic connection?
  5. Are you wearing a 'jiggle'/physics layer?
  6. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/POST-Ely-Roadside-Star-Vintage-Electric-Sign/4019037 Not exact but very close
  7. In a book called Second Lives by Tim Guest, Pathfinder Linden is quoted as saying that 'The eye observes the world, the hand shapes it' and that the eye in hand symbol is embraced by many cultures as a representation of creation springing from knowledge.
  8. This has happened to me several times as well, was quite freaked out by it the first time but clearing cache as suggested did work :-)
  9. In the meantime can you post on that person's feed stating that they are not affiliated with your SIM or group as claimed?
  10. Thank you very much, Nyll!
  11. I've just done that too. How do I make it bigger? :smileysurprised: :smileyembarrassed:
  12. Those are very odd. I saw the first one that sat down cross legged as soon as I appeared, then disappeared underground and became invisible but still registered as being nearby. The second one I could see the name but again it was invisible but didnt register as being there. I have 45 minutes to kill before something comes onto the TV that I want to watch. I may go ghost hunting, lol.
  13. I just did a search and there were a couple of threads on this, or similar, last year. The general consensus then was that these are bots that tend to be made either invisible or placed seated or underground to prevent them being tampered with while they get up to whatever they have been set up to do.
  14. I'm pretty sure it's a discontinued hair by Deviant Kitties. The creator now sells as Ploom so it could be worth contacting Helyanwe Vindaloo.
  15. Just an idea, I 'think' Metabolt or Radegast which are text only viewers allow Inventory management. Worth a try?
  16. I can log in but am not rezzing, inventory isn't loading, tried taking something back into inventory and got the 'cannot derez due to inventory fault' message.
  17. Speaking on a purely personal basis, as someone who used to be able to afford to rent several sims from LL and who can no longer afford to do so in the current economic climate (mostly down the UK government's taxation) , the who is online has been invaluable to me. I had a need to ban a number of residents from my sims, some people hold grudges, most I have muted but that does not stop visits, from time to time, from previous pests. Knowing if they are online gives at least a 'forewarned is forearmed' sense of security (motto of the Royal Observers Corps). From a purely selfish and personal point of view, there may be times when I am AFK and in busy mode and someone will contact me. If I'm at work I could be away for 12 hours, if I know they are offline when I am on then I am not upsetting anyone by them thinking I am ignoring them, same if they think I am offline, works both ways. The who is online is, I believe, an innoccous feature that does a lot of good and zero harm. I would like to add my name to those who would like the service retained please.
