Just jump on board the red TP pads and you can get to any of them! Awesome for photographers, or for couples looking for romantic areas! They are all changing for the Fall season, too! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Crystal Cove II/104/146/3923

  3. Exactly, @Phoebe Avro! Ours doesn't go up quite that much on a daily basis (WOW!) - but the majority of the time, we don't even get notices from our own club in our email. And yet, with them cutting groups, can't exactly make a second one. And, for clubs, the subscribomatics are a pain in the butt, we did try that for a while.
  4. It isn't a lie. I had to split my store groups into 2, and between the 2 there are over 85000 members. We split the members into 2 groups because none of the functions work when it's that crowded. Maitreya V.I.P group has 115,000 members. My club group has over 7000 members. Its not a lie at all. Our group functions are sluggish a lot of the time, and chat doesn't always pop open, nor do messages always go through.
  5. @Grumpity Linden -- Why would you even suggest that, if groups are such a horrible load on the LL servers?
  6. @Killer Perhaps -- Adult places do have their own category -- Its called Nightlife & Entertainment.
  7. @Sweet Valentine I disagree! I co-own a club, and I can assure you that I spend a ton of money buying things to improve and keep my place going. Not to mention, paying the tier for the sim that we are on (because half of it is residential)! To say that "free folk" don't add anything to SL is just crazy talk. And guess what - we don't even make money. We break even. That's all we have ever asked of our place.
  8. @Dove Darkfold -- They have been "working" on the group problem since 2007. Check the JIRAs.... Sorry, but there are better ways to go about this.
  9. By titles, I think she means role slots. And you can only have a certain number of role slots in a group. People have been begging for more roles in groups for years.
  10. I would add to this. I am the co-owner of a club in SL that has been around since 2007. For our club, we have the main group, the staff group, and a training group (learn how to send notices etc etc), as well as our management group. In addition to that, I also send notices in 6 other groups to advertise events. That is 10 groups that I -NEED- just for the day-to-day running of our club. We already have staff members who are capped on groups and unable to join the advertising groups. If we are cut down on groups, there are a lot of people who won't be able to join the -MANDATORY- groups - staff and main group. Advertising is a huge part of the club business, not just creators. And, the main way that we advertise, is with groups, because that is how things were set up to be from day dot.
  11. When I am in SL, I want to see my info in SL, and not have to log into yet another platform just to see what's going on. Maybe that's just me though.
  12. Hi Kat - I am replying to this without reading anything that's come after, so if its already been said, I apologize. Its true that people have alts. However, not everyone does. It seems to me that, it would be worth it to comb through groups that are "inactive" and delete them - say, a group that has not had any activity in the past 6 months. Same for avatars, really. If they have not been active in 6 months, send a warning to the email on file that clues them to log in or lose it. There have been problems with groups going back at least as far as 2007 - probably longer, but that's when I joined. Chat lag, notices not going thru - and the larger the groups get, the worse it gets. I understand that Second Life wants to give us new, shiny stuff to play with, but honestly, please just go back and fix the bugs that have been in JIRA for years and years. Fixing those things would have to be a help, server-side as well, I would think? Also, please consider, your basic members are IMPORTANT. Even though we don't pay a membership to be on SL, we are still spending a lot of money in SL. We buy lindens, we spend lindens on things like tier/rent, clothing, landscaping, events, etc etc etc. All of which, when people go to cash out, Linden Lab gets to take another piece of. This really feels like you are penalizing non-Premium members of SL. I think its a bad road for Linden Lab to go down. Sure, Premium members should get perks. But don't take things away from the non-Premium members that we've only just gotten, and been begging for, for years. (Groups)

  14. Same issue here, was not able to purchase Lindens. Deleted my card and went to re-add it (same card). Got the same message as Michael got. Added Paypal card in just fine, but still not able to purchase Lindens. Tried calling billing support just now, and was told that my bank had probably put a hold on the card. (My account is set up with fraud alert so I know that is not the case.) I was informed that they were not able to clear my billing info, as they did with Michael, that I would just have to call my bank and get them to unblock it. (Hi, its not blocked!!) And then once they do that, I should be able to re-add my card. So I guess I will call my bank when it opens, to be told its not blocked, and then called them back again. GRRRR.

  19. You might try lowering your bandwidth to 500 or 1000 - it sounds crazy, but it actually does help because if your bandwidth is set too high, you will lag. Also, try setting to gaming mode instead of hybrid mode in your graphics card settings, that helped a little bit for me. I am currently back to running Phoenix 1185 again, and I am able to run on mid, but with a lot of things tweeked to give me better fps. I completely turned off antialiasing, Anisotropic Filtering, turned off enable VBOs, and Open GL Vertex Buffer Objects, and took texture memory down to 256. All of this can be found in edit>preferences>Phoenix>Graphics>Hardware Settings. I also unchecked, under Avatar Rendering, in Graphics, Hardware Skinning and Avatar Imposters. That seemed to help some also. Also, set your lighting detail to sun and moon only, instead of nearby local lights. Again, these are just some things that worked out for me, with my graphics card - maybe they will work for you as well, as you also have an ATI. And yes, for the record .... SL was not designed for just those with top of the line specs/machines. I could not have said it better myself. I really wish that LL would just stop messing about with things that no one has asked for, that no one wants, and just FIX the issues that have been around since 2006!!!
  20. Luc, no, I didn't always have problems with the other viewers. Quite honestly, it started around the time that mesh came into being - which is why I wondered why perhaps it was something in the coding or the graphics rendering engine. Another thing that I have noticed is that, my graphics keep rendering over and over again, even if I am looking directly at them - it cycles, in rendering. With Phoenix 1185, which isn't mesh enabled, I run fine. But, in 1185, I don't get the updated features that Firestorm and LL 3.3 have.
  21. @ Luc - No, I don't have deferred rendering on. I can barely manage sun and moon! @ Teresa - I already have turned off OpenGL - I actually get better performance when it is turned off. Its another setting that drops my fps for some reason, even though it is supposed to improve them. Here is the info from Help > About SL that you both asked for, for Phoenix and then for v3 (LL 3.3 viewer) Both are the current versions of the viewers. 22. Perhaps someone here can answer this question for me. I'm honestly not sure where else to post it at. With any of the V3 coded viewers, my fps drops to under 5 and my bandwidth goes to hell in a handbasket. I do not have this issue with Phoenix. I have tried all sorts of tweeks, and the only relief that I can find from it, is to take my settings all the way down to low. I should not be having this issue, as my computer is less than 3 months old, running Win 7,a quad core processor, and 512 video card. I really love the features that LL V3 and Firestorm have to offer, and would love to use them ... however, I simply can't. I know that I am not the only one with this issue - both my partner and the owner of our sim, both running Macs, are having the same issue. Could this be a problem in the V3 coding, or perhaps the way that the render engine is working now, due to having to deal with mesh? It seems to me that those are the main differences between Phoenix 1185 and LL V3 and Firestorm Beta. Answers would be appreciated.
