@Rick Nightingale There may be a lot of clothing being sold now with terrible rigging.  If you demo'd it and it was that bad, toss the DEMO in the trash and move along.  The creator lost a sale, maybe many sales.  Maybe they will realize their poor rigging/skinning is the issue and work to fix it, or maybe they don't care.  Either way, they lost a customer,  and word of mouth can be detrimental to a brand.

There are more than a few creators who are well-known and participate in popular events, and yet their items are poorly rigged. One creator I can think of straight away seems unable to rig at all, and relies totally on auto alphas. Poor rigging does not seem to be a barrier to success.

Sorry, I know it's your peeve but it's also kind of hilarious.  So many questions.  Did they get themselves locked in?  Did they not read the rlv manual?  Do they do this to other store owner?  Is this how they find people to play with them?

They locked themselves in for some ridiculously long amount of time. And yes, I imagine they do this to other store owners too, and whoever else will listen. They might well do this to find new people, but if that's the case they need to lose the tentacle mask because that is just not an attractive look.

  3. Peeve - Selling RLV furniture, and getting frustrated IMs when people get locked in it, because they think the right thing to do is to contact the creator. This is furniture that other people own, not furniture in my store, btw. I had one person stuck in a chair last night send me repeated TP requests to some bizarre sim that I won't even describe because it probably breaks forum rules, then hit on me. They had also got some kind of tentacle mask stuck to their head in their RLV adventures and tried to blame my furniture for it. I guess that was kind of funny though.

  4. Pet delight - SL jewelry makers who make lovely things, AND rig them for the most popular bodies. I can't stand how unrigged necklaces and rings look, they are never quite right. And some of the stores that make the best rigged jewelry, like Sigma and Yummy, also include an unrigged version for those that need it.

I've been using Maitreya for a long, long time - from back when it was still the best mesh body option. I'm starting to notice less and less creators making clothing for Maitreya and switching over to Legacy Reborn.

I'll be honest, I'm out of the loop as I have not gone clothes shopping in quite a while. I went to an event and saw probably 50% of the clothing vendors only offering one size for Legacy Reborn. Kinda surprised me.

I like very thin looking avatars. Maitreya has always leaned towards a curvier build, but I made it work as best as I could, although my arms stick out like noodles and I've just accepted it. I know nothing about Legacy Reborn's body type possibilities. For those that made the switch - was it worth it? Is Legacy Reborn going to take over completely?

I have so many clothes for Maitreya I dread rebuilding a wardrobe, but perhaps if this is the future of SL bodies it's a necessary thing I have to do T__T Just wanna hear from others before I consider investing into the body

If you like really thin avatars, you are already using the best body for that. Reborn is super curvy, Legacy can go either thin or curvy but isn't worth the upgrade in your case, I think.

I understand that it can be very frustrating to buy something that can't be modified.

However, creators who use full perm components on their products often have Terms of Service that they agreed to when they purchased those items, and sometimes it's listed as one of the conditions that the item can only be resold as a finished product with NO MODIFY permissions. So it's not always just about selfishness, paranoia, ego, etc. even though that might be the case for some creators. Sometimes a merchant has no choice but to offer the item in a no modify state.

As long as it's clearly shown in the Marketplace listing that the product is no modify, there is nothing wrong with that, in my opinion. Then it's up to the customer to buy the item or not, based on their needs and expectations.

I have never seen this request by full perm creators that items be set no mod, and I am familiar with most of those sellers. They just don't want things to be set both copy and transfer. So I don't think this is the reason for no mod permissions in final products, in most cases.

Interesting. That was public back in mid-January and it took them another quarter to announce they were pulling back from SL. Their SL revenue stream must be pretty big, and the investment is US$ 6M, so the clock is now ticking for offsetting loss of that revenue as the operation shifts to the Next Big Thing.

I guess Roblox would be the safest bet but it seems a little boring to attract investment, unless it's just a first step towards something more exciting.

    Something I wouldn't have expected:

That makes sense if they are going to be making Roblox their primary market, male and androgynous clothing would be appreciated there.

If it makes you feel better, I've heard some very serious Fallout fans praising the show. They say they absolutely nailed the aesthetic of the vault designs and the wasteland and the music is perfect and all that. That makes sense, considering Todd Howard (Bethesda's director) is one of the executive producers.

They're calling it the best video game adaptation to date, though, so that's definitely something. I thought TLOU was fantastic (never played that one myself, but I did watch complete playthroughs of both 1 and 2), and they did an amazing job with that, so I'm kind of pumped to see this!

I'm just peeved I'm so dang squeamish. That's what keeps me from playing all of these great games in the first place!

I am a long-time Fallout gamer, and it really does capture so much of the game, it is great from a fan's perspective. Lots of little moments that only fans of the game will appreciate. The violence is pretty extreme though.

I haven't really followed this thread other than see the snippets roll but and I am guessing it IS about the money (and hopefully not a health issue).

That being said it could also have been blowback from the Medium article and "investors" who did not want to be linked to SL.  Just saying.

    :SwingingFriends:

Investors could just as equally not want to be involved with Roblox, with the lawsuits from parents and all.

Good day! Does anyone know any good female (unisex? Idk) standing AO? I've seen some users who used AO and they're just stand in one place, without dynamic moves. At first I thought these were just poses, but no. I searched the entire marketplace but found absolutely nothing. 😭

This static AO is 75L this weekend https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/rvn-Kaya-AO-staticslighty-animated-packed/23408427

I give you a mistake or fail that affect my mood. I tried to play voodoo.  It was not easy at the begining. Then sudenly I got a message desactivated. After a while I realised that I was banned. The moderator said that a owner ban me. I didn't know the reason. He gave me a long list of rules.

In secondlife you don't have a second chance. When you are banned the only solution is change your IP address and create a new avatar. Maybe they will deteted in a cookie somewhere that I did a mistake and they will ban me again.

All that is game destructif for our mood and our selfesteem. You start to learn a new thing then you get banned. The owner never realised how hard it is to be banned. He feel power but it is like killing someone. that game is really hard and violent in that sens. No second chance.

Lots of people have posted here about being banned from playing Voodoo, it seems the rules are easy to break if you don't pay close attention, so you are not alone with that. Just find something else to do and don't take it personally.
