Is LL going to start taking a percentage of our in-world sales now?? I don't know if I'm down with this.
Wasn't CasperTech already taking a percentage of in-world sales? If so, wouldn't it be OK for SecondLife's creator to receive that percentage?

No, creators can't block the inspect tool. You've got some other problem going on.
It turns out, I'd set the "Select only my objects" option in the Build > Options menu. I just forgot that I'd done that.

It must be a Firestorm-related issue. I'll check with their tech support. Thanks

I might not be posting in the best forum for this question. If so, please let me know which one is better.
I've been using Firestorm for some time and frequently use the Inspect Object tool to view things like VRAM, TMem, etc. on objects I encounter while exploring. Recently, I have noticed on a few sims that the tool no longer works. By that I mean when I right-click and select the Inspect tool (going through menu), the Inspect Object window is basically void of any information. I’m just curious. Is there a way for creators to block the Inspect Object tool?

I realize there's little if any support on the test grid but I opened a support ticket anyway.

Same issue for me, still persisting. Does anybody have an update on this? Its been several hours now.
I can't seem to find any sort of status for the Test grid. I guess they mean it when they say there's no support available for it.

I have the same issue and can replicate on both Firestorm + SL Official Viewer.
Seems like the Beta Grid may be unstable atm (always happens to me at end of month when I have an event release due for the 1st!).Which sim was you on? I was on Mesh Sandbox 2.
I then re-tried on the Pristina Sandbox, and then the Cloud Sandbox all the same - Mesh Uploading is down.
Did with the usual cube test item to upload same results...
Hopefully it will be back working soon....I usually use Mesh Sandbox 2. I tried a few others but had the same results as you.

Earlier this morning around 8 am SLT, I was able to upload mesh models to the Beta Grid (Mesh Sandbox 2). But, after about 10 am SLT, when I try, I get a "Error while requesting mesh upload permissions" after clicking the Calculate Weights & Fees button. Is this an issue others are having or do I need to open a support ticket with Linden Lab?

My avatar is 2.12m tall. I created a test cube in Blender, set the z dimension to 2.12m, and imported it into SL. It was exactly the same height as my avatar. When you uploaded your test model into SL, did you use the Scale option ( under the Upload Options tab) to reduce it before uploading?
-
I'd be very interested in this as well. Substance Painter used to come with a template specifically for SL that supported outputs that worked with SL's diffuse, normal, and specular options but, at some point in the past, the template disappeared.

I agree 100% that Second Life could have grown its user base substantially if they'd invested in an offline mesh creation tool specifically geared for SL. It would have spurred more SL-related mesh educational opportunities than what have been available both in-world and out.

It shouldn't matter whether there are planes or cubes for your walls but there is no reason to upload any quads that will not be seen. So you can delete all "inside of wall" types faces. In this case I also dissolved the walls before uploading BUT it is really important not to do that until the end as it pretty much finalizes things and makes changes much more difficult.
Hope that helps some.
I hope you guys don't mind if I ask a question about something indirectly related. Chic, do you use Archipack within Blender for your walls or just plain cubes and/or planes? What do you think of that add-on?

Did y9u make sure the visual and physics models are exactly the same size? The uploader will scale the physics (and all LoD models) to the same size as the main visual model so if tehya ren't to start with, you can get unexpected results like this.
You were right. The plane in the physic model had to be exactly the same size. I also added a few vertical planes for the walls. They also had to be the same size. Thanks for everyone's advice.

I've created a simple building in Blender 2.83. I'm just trying to understand how physics work when uploading the mesh to SL. So far, my efforts have been mostly a failure.
In Blender, I have the building as one object and the physics as a separate object. The physics object is just above the floor of the main mesh. I've exported the building and physics separately. Before exporting, I've applied all transformations and set origin to geometry for each object.
In SL's mesh upload UI, I select the Collada file for the building and, on the Physics tab, selected my physics file. I have tried using both the Analyze tool and not using it.
When I upload the model to SL and rez it in Firefox, I edit the Features tab by selecting Prim instead of Convex Hull. But, as you can see in the screenshots, the physics is way off; my avatar is way above the floor. In Blender, the physics object is not as high up as it shows in SL.
Below are screenshots of the model (the main mesh and the physics mesh) and how it looks in SL after uploading:
I know this is very simple. But, what could I be doing wrong that's making the physics so much higher than the floor?

I just logged into Second Life and decided to see what houses were available. Wham, bam.....I got a Bellisseria-themed house (Traditional) on Greenbow!!!

I'm trying to understand, but was the entire Sweetmarsh region released this morning? If so, that's a lot of houses for them to have been snatched up within just a few minutes.
-
So, I guess the release happened this morning and there are no others for the rest of the day.

Oh no. I would never do that. I'll just sit and be envious in secret.

So, I'm following the Bellisseria Citizens chat this morning. Is it bad of me to be envious of their joy?

It was weird here too - I was on the hometrainer - my netbook next to me on a table calmly refreshing at 80 seconds - when I finished and looked at the netbook there it was: picture of a Belli-house - but no sound! I quickly clicked - and missed as allways! then I refreshed and got blocked!
That's happening to me, too, this morning. No alarm. I probably need to restart Chrome or my computer.

Oh and 150 ways to lose weight, a very populair topic in the groups.
The best way to lose weight is not to be chatting in those groups. Or, hovering over the refresh screen for hours and hours and hours .......oops. In my own defense, I will be mowing my real yards in about 25 minutes.

What happens in the Bellisseria Citizens group that helps in the quest for a new home? Asking for a friend.

It can also be done in GIMP!
