  1. Um... thank you again! I tried all the clearing of all the cache types... nothing worked. So.....i downloaded this SNOWGLOBE thing... and guess what? I have log in pictures now... LOL.. so it must be something wrong with the other viewer. If anyone knows of another idea, that'd be good! I want my viewer back LOL
  2. Hi again! No such link on SL viewer... but then again, this isn't just today. It's been at least a month... could be more. Thank you for your suggestion!!! Got any others? *giggles*
  3. Thank you, Bo. I use only the release candidate, the SL viewer, and can't even figure out what a snow globe is LOL... but even after uninstalling and reinstalling the viewer with all the default settings, I still have no nice picture at log in. To my knowledge, the viewer is looking in the correct place, although, if the pictures moved, I wudn't know. If others are having the same issue (which you are not), then I could understand it. It looks like I lost the pictures after the last viewer update... hmmmm. Any other suggestions?
  4. Hi, Rage. Thank you for your suggestion. It didn't work, however. I clear that, and the network cache at least once a day. But, I tried again anyway. LOL.. No luck so far. I'm using (and HAVE always been using) the most recent Release Candidate viewer. Any other suggestions?
  5. For a long time, when I double click on SL to bring up the viewer, the log in page had a nice picture from second life, various locations, and it was always different each time I loaded the viewer to log in.  Now, all I get is blank/ black screen.  I can still see the status info in the top right (stats, number of people logged in, the date, etc.), as well as other status info to the left.  And, of course, the log in boxes, and the viewer version in the lower right corner.  But the nice SL pictures are gone!  They've been missing for about a month... maybe more, maybe less. Can someone tell me how to get them back?
  6. you are also missing a ; this: }while (Sensed) should be: }while (Sensed); although i have other ideas too
  7. Ok, I found something else, that I'm certain causes a failure, because i keep forgetting this myself LOL Hope this is PART of the answer:P Search = llListFindList( Previous, Target ); shouldn't this be: Search = llListFindList( Previous, );
  8. um... i could be WAY off here, since i'm not in-world or at a compiler to test, but here's two things i see: 1. range should be a float, not integer 2. the button list cannot be empty in the llDialog call Please let me know if i'm wrong
  9. Thank you, Jak! You're absolutely right! Even at your workplace nothing is private anymore, and I fully understand this. Unclebob found the duration as 31 days, so that answers that part at least, and Irene also found very valuable information as to "what" is done with it. Unfortunately, no lindens found this post, and no reply has mentioned "who" might have access to it. I guess it's a moot point now. I did try the Emerald viewer, and I got really messed up with the encrypted messages. Suddenly while talking with someone (whether they were using Emerald or SL viewer), my text would get totally scrambled up. And, a few times, I've gotten very scrambled text from others. It seems to me there is some sort of bug or issue with the encryption thing. I can't trust that, since I need to get messages from customers. Thank you very much for your well thought out post, and I wish you the very best over the holidays
  10. Wow! you surprised me with this! LOL TY for this info! You and Irene rock ! Thanks for digging deep on this. Can I call you uncle? *smiles*
  11. Thank you, everybody. Some good information, and some good laughs as well. For my first post, I'm very happy nobody lost an eye. Thank you. Happy Holidays
  12. Thank you, Irene. Your answer was the closest I could get to as well. So I marked yours as being the "Answer." I still have not found out what happened, and no linden replied to this post. Also, no further mention was made on the grid status page. Happy Holidays to everyone.
  13. I agree. Chat logs CAN be doctored. And for all the reasons mentioned, having an "official" log of my chat is nice to have SOMEWHERE, but where? And ya, who has access to them? And why? It just kinda bothers me that all of a sudden, personal IM's that I sent a while ago are now being bounced back to the intended recipients. Very very very unnerving.
  14. I like how you always find the other side of things! I agree with you... but I still want to know what they do with our chat lol... I keep my OWN chat logs, meaning I can protect myself if accused of something I didn't do or say. But you still make valid points. Thank you
  15. With the recent issue of people suddenly getting IM's from others that are (in some cases) up to two months old, I was a bit concerned, and found myself asking:  "What happens to our private messages and other chat?" It bothers me to think that someone could simply yank our conversations out of some database, anytime they wish, and read them!  I mean, gosh, why in the world would this information be stored by LL?  And yes, it MUST be stored somewhere, because it's coming back days, weeks, or months later! I'm troubled by this.  So much so, that I am posting my very first thread.  LOL Opinions?  Shared concern?  Comments?  Technical response from LL?  All are welcome, please. NOTE:  I will mark this thread as 'Answered' only if someone provides an answer as to what actually is being done with our chat in-world.
