  1. Not sure why I am the first to post about it but the marketplace is showing thousands of results for keywords which used to only show a few.

For example, search: 1 prim piano. You'll get 10,000 results. There used to be only a couple dozen before. You can go through the top results, view the "page source" and see 99.9% of the listings don't even have the keywords 1 prim piano.

Now search the keyword "piano" and you get 4500 results. That seems fair.

Search: piano skin, 10k results even though those two aren't even related one bit.

It's always 10k results with multiple unrelated keywords at random.

edit: seems there's another post in the marketplace forum. Looks like LL is aware of the issue. How do I delete this post?

That implementation of anim2bvh has major flaws, such as not being able to handle 0.0 duration, single frame animations plus the creator added stupidly large bone sizes and mandatory 3 minimum frame injection that overwrites/replaces data for animations using lesser frames.

Elementary, my dear Watson. But you must not have any other objects too close to the seat. Your piano is too close.

In the first picture I showed, the table and chair are all one mesh object, not a linkset. But you must touch the object before you can sit, which causes it to rez a new object, which is a linkset with enough links to seat all intended avatars. That rezzed object is more than 1 LI, so PrimPossible is "cheating" a bit.

Cheating a bit? I respectfully disagree. When you are done sitting, the "poseshell" deletes itself instantly and the furniture goes back to 1LI :)

It's impossible to reliably sit more than 1 avatar on 1 prim. My pose system rezzes an invisible shell which you sit on that has 1 prim per seated avatar. My bed sits 4 avatars but the shell is just 2LI (4 cubes linked together).

  4. I've had many customers message me within the past few hours saying they can no longer sit on their furniture because of this object_rez issue.

I put a message in my profile explaining this bug and informed them that there will be a fix soon.

I confirmed that in Toroge, Fearly and Korzun, which are on 537423, the object_rez event doesn't happen.  The on_rez event does still work as expected.  But the object_rez event definitely DOES NOT work at all.

I confirmed with the same test that on_rez and object_rez still work as expected in 536748.

But I tested in Venrigalli, Sirrakuk and Nadelhorn, which are also on 537423, and both events work.  So the bug doesn't seem to depend on 537423.  But it's definitely a problem in Toroge, Fearly and Korzun which all happen to be on 537423.

I would test in Magnum Sandbox A, LeTigre Sandbox A and BlueSteel Sandbox A but you have to be premium to enter those now.  Magnum Sandbox 1, BlueSteel Sandbox 1, LeTigre Sandbox 1, etc. also block access.  So maybe someone else can test in those.

You are a lifesaver! Thank you so much Sayrah!

"If an object is rezzed by another object then the object_rez event in the parent object does not trigger at the same time as the on_rez event in the child object and the order of the events is not guaranteed. See the examples in object_rez for how to reliably establish communications between objects when rezzing."

Trouble came from objects, typically guns, which rez other objects, typically projectiles, and then send a message to the projectile telling it where to go. There's no guarantee that the newly rezzed object is up and running when the gun sends the message to the projectile. But apparently that assumption used to work most of the time. Now, it doesn't. Properly, you rez the projectile, it sends a message to the gun asking "what do I do", and the gun responds "go here".

It's not about the order. The issue is one of the events doesn'T trigger at all.

  7. There's a bug on the server update - there is an event in scripting, it is triggered as soon as a script rezzes an object - and with the server update it seems that event is not triggered correctly anymore -  I put a message into that event right at start to see when it triggers - the message never appears

    "On Tuesday, March 4th:

    • Around 30% of the total grid (equivalent to the 3 primary RC channels) will receive an update. Again, at the time of writing, no details were available, however, Simon Linden indicated there should be no user-visible changes, but the update will include fixes to lower level code that should help with scripts running and provide some better performance transferring scripts across region boundaries as well. This update has apparently been on simulators associated with the BlueSteel RC." @modemworld

Well it is January 28, 2020 and some stuff of mine got delisted today. None of it makes sense, a wall decal that says p.s. i love you, all with my own fonts, why that wall decal and not the rest? Greeting cards that "I" designed yet I see greeting cards by other designer's who just copied a graphic online. Flowers in a pot, sculpted balloons I created with purchased textures. I just don't get it and fed up.

You can figure which word is delisting your items through a process of elimination.

Because consumers just can't understand complicated concepts. They'd never buy, say, makeup appliers that would only work with a specific brand of head or tolerate figuring out which of several different sets of clothing items they bought will work with their particular body. A business model like that would be dead in the water.

    Oh, wait...

This has become normal in SL but SL has become overly complicated. At the end of the day, I want the customer to have a seamless experience. I believe in the future of SL and the future I envision doesn't involve a mess of technical hurdles.

  10. I considered that but then I'd have to educate the customer about the potential of conflicting AUX channels. Most likely, the customer would never read the info about that and when the issue arises, they would rate the product poorly. The poorly rated product would stop selling. Then I'd smack myself for not making high complexity onion layers in the first place.
