  1. Well i would love to help here. But i must admit that i dosent understand the request. I shoot into the blue here, but i guess the collision volumes are generated in the 3D package?
  2. Problem was solved. It seems its not Blender or an user fault. It was indeed the uploader who caused that. After switching from Viewer 3 to the latest Mesh Project Developement Viewer all worked absolutely fine!
  3. Thanks Drongle That was exactly what i did. Hm i really have no idea.
  4. Hi all Well today i must admit defeat. Yeah really im stuck really badly and i dosent know what i do wrong, so i thought it may be a good idea to ask here. Ok here it comes. I know how to create a mesh and also i gasp the concept of Rigging a mesh. I already successfully rigges a pair of Boots and also i learned how to use the weight painting feature to apply non standart rigging in Blender All that in 2.59. So i created a pair of Pants, the same way i did with my Boots. But after finishing and uploading im kinda stunned, the rigging diddnt worked the way that i expected. I already worked one week on finding any errors and looking at various tutorials ( not that there are many for weight painting ) and still .. well i better show you So after messing around i decided to upload one half of the Modell to illustrate my Point. After Uplading the right leg. You can see the follwing result. All is smooth the rigged transition is very clean and im OK with that result. So i applied a Mirror Mod in Blender ( as i did with the Shoes before ) and exported and uploaded the entire Modell. That worked well with the shoes, but now with the pants .. well look for yourself. As you can see, i suddenly get a distortion on the right leg. I was surprised because in the Weight Paint mode in Blender i tried all possible movements of the bone and limbs and it worked flawless. To my even GREATER surprise the new left Leg now is absolutely fine. O.o Anyone an idea why this happens? Also if i delete the right leg in Blender and apply a Mirror from the left to the right side, exactly the same happen .. Also the right leg then is distorted. Her i would expect that the left leg .. so the source would be affected I absoltely have no explanation for this. maybe here someone has an idea? Thanks in advance Dain
  5. Hm should that end up as an Human form ? So .. err did you tweaked the ones ? Anyways .. it definately looks like some of the Vertices are assigned and weight painted to the wrong bones. In blender in pose mode, move every bone ( rotating ) to the extreme and watch the modell closely. You then can see where Vertices are off and repaint those in the weight paint mode.
  6. I encountered this also 2 days ago. Made a Mesh and rigged and weight painted it in 2.49. It wont show up in the upload preview window and also telling me the "Missing required level of detail" message. Strangely my older files that i uploaded before would show up without any trouble. :matte-motes-agape: What i did was, out of curiosity, weight painted and rigged the mesh in Blender 2.59 and exported it to collada without the "Make real button" ( cause there is non in Blender 2.59 ) This worked like a charm. The Mesh was rigged and worked like expected. Since then i uploaded serval times and used the 2.59 output only. Works without a problem so far.
  7. Thanks for the information. Very nice to have the info before getting a WTF moment
  8. Yepp it is... even if you, by chance, create something that is already under copyright, you are in the bad.
  9. Oh ... What about textures then? I want my in Client Genetica Studio too !!!!
  10. Seems we have a different view on that matter.
  11. Oh I never thought about that .. Bu yes i always create a single file for each LOD and one Physics shape
  12. I never had a problem with the exporter and upload for static Meshes. If i remember correctly the problem only exists for rigged Meshes
  13. You only can have that much hulls for an Physics shape. From the error message it seems that you have too many of then There can be 256 Hulls for a physics shape .. Please see also http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Mesh/Mesh_physics For the details For the logs Uhm good question .. i dont know.
  14. . You will get used to Ann .. se always is that way. Same with Vivienne .. it seems she has the strong urge to look down on anyone who claims to wortk with Blender and actually can do stuff that use less ressources and look better I suspect some envy issues here.
  15. I know what you mean.. and no Its only a Monitor, no deconding and saving is possible with this one
  16. Ok why did my post about DRAM mon itoring deleted ? Drongle.. can i send you that via other means ?
  17. Im aware of that. Maybe i choosed the wrong words again. As for Sculpt maps .. The memory Monitor for my DRAM on the GPU tells me other things. As for the Attachments .. you are right. Nothing will, at the moment, stop that. Even more reason to point out the flaws
  18. Hence the hint that he could probably create something marvellous .. And if you keep throwing stones .. well i had my laugh
  19. Not in regard to 3D content .. no
  20. Makes a memory usage of 1,2 Mbyte alltogether for the sculpts. The mesh dosent even touch the 100Kbyte border. AND i made a BIG mistake in my last Post ... Please note that i meant the Memory usage !!! Not the download size. The Numbers of calls on the Assetserver are still higher, thought ... 5 for sculpts 1 for mesh.
  21. Exactly my thoughts. But as we already know from the last Meeting, it will not change. From the Meeting http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Mesh/Archive/2011-06-27 Point 7 [12:34] Charlar Linden 7. Is it too late to propose an alternative to the prim equivilance system being implemented? Two people did so: [12:34] Nyx Linden yes, its too late Seems we go life with this ... :matte-motes-frown: I have 2 view angles onto this. 1.) Market. There will be only a very small Market, as it is at the moment, Mesh will not become a major selling point. It may be, that there are a few selected things that do better with mesh then with sculpts. But this has yet to be shown. I found that small Building pieces might have a chance, because they are more detailed and also easy to handle if you can stack them like Legos ( as normal prims ), if the customer understands the proper handling that is. And as long as you keep a very close eye on the resource cost and try, try, try ... 2.) Resource View Here im still boggled. I understand that they want to take streaming costs into account. But hey, as we see from the Barrel above, Meshes are NOT the download killer here. A 256 by 256 Sculpt map on 16Bit color depth will have a data volume of about 1 Megabyte ( rounded .. Its 1024 KByte ) compared to that Mesh file above .. Its like a Goliath while the cute little mesh file comes along with under 100Kbyte. Closest will be a 64x64 sculptmap with 64Kbyte. Don't get me started with the even larger ones. And yes, i have seen 512x512 ones .. :matte-motes-sick: We also see here Sculpted Linkset 7.168 Ktris, 5 objects, 0.0/0.0 kb, streaming cost 13.1 counts as 5 prims Mesh Linkset 1.364 Ktris, 15.1/36.7 kb, streaming cost 10.2 counts as 8 prims The sculpted set needs 5 of this maps ( i don't know the size, maybe Vivienne can comment on this ) so 5 calls and downloads from the asset server, while with mesh its only 1 call and 1 download. I really don't understand it .. I read the explanations serval times and tried to wrap my brain around it. It still somehow makes absolutely no sense.
  22. Vivienne Schell wrote: "Every time LL makes a gain in lag, or computers make a gain in power, some 'artist' will make something 'beautifull' and were all suposed to clap and not pressure him to learn blender." Why should Picasso learn Blender, eh? He cant, hes dead .... And who knows, if he could, we might have seen something marvellous eh?
  23. Uhmmm thats strange Yesterday evening i showed a pal of me the SL Meshes on the beta grid. And also wanted to show him some downsides .. as you mentioned the resizing and also the other strings. I have a small 5x5x5m cube tunnel still there at HQ1 and also my 2 fireplaces. I grabbed the tunnel and rsized it to 10x10x5m to demonstrate the increasing prim cost and discovered that this, with this increase, was no longer the case Oo Ok .. well .. Uhmm .. lets wait for monday then again and ask then. I dont know what to think now
  24. Nope i havent .. Im at work right now, what exactly happened ? ( So that im prepared for the shock )
  25. Developing some stuff .. And testing inbetween. Thought im not clever enough to detect the really important stuff. Others are much faster.
