  1. I do not know how to create or otherwise alter mesh .... Sooooo .. I bought a mesh clothing template. I have found that I am not able to link the pants into any other prims without them showing up on the right hand ,seperated from the pants themselves. So am unable to add details to the pants themselves. Among other things... I would like to be shown as the creator. Its a simple pair of pants. When I use the standard method I usually use by putting an invisible prim in the center of the pants for sculpts or regular prims, and link into it, the prim shows up on the hand. As do any othr things that the pants are linked into.. (ei belts, waistbands.. etc..) Is there a way to overcome this? Thank you
  2. Thank you so much for your simple to follow set up. It worked exactly like you said it would. I can now paint directly on the object and am able to blend the seams I need to perfectly. Thank you Crysantha
  3. By from front to back I was referring to the side seams on a clothing texture. Any type of system clothing on the avatar has seams where the front meets the back along the side. I havent checked out your instructions yet, so will do that tomorrow morning and see what happens. Thank you, Crysantha
  4. Hello. I have been through all the threads that I can find, and as far as I see, you can't just load the avatar.obj file into CS6 Extended and paint properly ? I have the files and know they used to work when I used to use CS4... I used to be able to blend and smooth and paint directly onto the avatar.obj. But now i cant blend from back to front etc.. i get a notice that keeps telling me to check the layer I am on ... and nothing works.. So I found a page that said. load them into Blender and then export them again then take them back into Photoshop and it should work fine.. Great, so I dl'd blender, tried to load the file into it.. and I cant figure out how to load the obj file into it? I can find the file, but it simply does not load when I try to.. DOES.. anyone have the already corrected avatar. obj files? I just need one for male and one for female so I can work on blending seams on the clothing I make.. Please help? All i want is those files.. not a week worth of tutorials to learn how to load them into blender first. Thank you very much for any help..
  5. Just an FYI, after having a lengthy discussion in a chat with a sales rep at Adobe.. When you get Cloud, you get the rights to use all those wonderful CS6 and all the bells and whistles with extended etc.. BUT.. and here is the Gotcha.. if you ever cancel your account, you have to pay a penalty of no less than 50% of whatever the going rate is for the Cloud Rent for the remainder of that year.. ANDDDDD You no longer have CS6 or all the stuff you have in Cloud.. like.. you are renting CS6 et all.. you are not owning it. So if you are good with renting the product and don't have any desire to buy it.. but are prepared to pay the 49.99 per month after the first year for as long as you want to use CS6 et all.. it might be a good deal... This kinda reminds me of the Sprint phone plan.. sounds good until it isnt anymore...
  6. Thank you so much for that answer regarding the terrain textures. That type of thing is exactly what was happening to me. I thought maybe I was just doing something wrong. And the high low thing on the sim I had experienced.. was an idependent island with nothing other than linden water around the edges, no other sims even on the map that touched at the corners.. that is what I found so weird. I was at water level, 20 meters.. had sand.. on the west i would raise the edge.. it was around 25 meters... raised the same on the east side.. South was a gentle slope below the water to perhaps 10 meters below the surface. I was going for a gentle slope into the center of the south side... I even made sure I had not selected the very outer edge of either the west or east side, had one grid square away from them. When I hit smooth in small increments.. the western edge stayed where I wanted it, the eastern edge dropped down, it was just very weird. On this new sim before I begin anything, it will be a flat surface, and will look further into it, see if I can get it to reproduce. Thank you again for that answer. I will lower the expectations of my clients, so they will understand there will be limitations due to SL.
  7. Umm.. Sorry I should have said.. I have owned up to 6 private sims, and I know how to edit the land and things.. It is not my sim I am altering, it belongs to another person.. but yeah.. its private and will have the range set to allow -+100. To alter the terrain textures and things all you have to do is be a region manager, you dont have to own the land. You can't bake it or anything, the owner has to do that. On my own sims the terraforming I did wasn't extreme levels with a wide difference in textures.. And the terrain textures have all been in the same type.. like dirt, grass, grassy rock and mountain. For the most part I never needed to mess with the default settings the textures were set too.. I just modified the land and I guess I lucked out on them transitioning as I wanted. The sim in question is not going to be accessible for 2 more weeks, but I thought I would try to get an answer to things before I go in and try to do something that could be easier if I worked with any specific peculiarities there might be in regards to doing what I want to do. Like.. is it easier to go low to high, from east to west, or north to south.. etc..And the texture lows and highs
  8. I need to find someone that is very knowledgeble with the ins and outs of Terraforming and Ground Textures. Firstly - I noticed the other day that when I was terraforming, one side of the sim liked being low, and the other liked being high. I had lifted some land on the west side, then decided I needed to smooth it out... The far EAST edge began to drop straight down after a little. Like it wanted to be lower.. When I did the same along the west side, the very western edge, did not do that. Is this normal in all sims? And if it is, should a person take that into consideration when they wish to transition from low to high ground? Secondly - My project is to create a transition from a low lying sand region, up to a mountain terrain. If I am going to do, sand, sand, rocky sand, mountain. How can I effectively transition from one to the other .. I think I may need a how to video or something. I am having trouble grasping the low/high number concept or something. It needs to be a rather abrupt change from sand to mountain.. low flat city for 2/3 of the sim then up a mountain slope Anyone know of someone that can help me understand how to do this. Thank you Crysantha
